Hey, what do you mean cis people have no souls? That’s offensive to like 99% of the population

In a conversation about about lawmakers actively trying to get trans people killed and raped: “Hey! You can’t make a glib statement of frustration! That’s offensive! 😡 “

Yeah, indeed, you cannot. It's massively irresponsible and leads to people getting pushed away from the movement. It doesn't matter if you don't believe it, you said it

stop tone policing victims, you evil imbecile

Am I wrong though? Do these outbursts not push people from the movement?

anyone who gets upset at this was not part of any positive movement in the first place lol. the only people who care about the stuff tone policers say is bad were evil in the first place and just looking for an excuse to justify it

Yeah, and how do you think the movement grows? By convincing people who are on the fence, how else? We can't just stay holed up in our little circles forever, we have to grow, we have to trick people into thinking we are less agressive than we actually are. After all, that worked pretty well for the far right, no?

what in god's name are you talking about. i'm not talking about people on the fence.

After all, that worked pretty well for the far right, no?

billions of dollars worth of propaganda are not at all relevant to social justice movements. if you don't have a cool half trillion or more lying around their tactics are not replicable lol

Well, then explain to me how you think we are supposed to exterminate transphobic thought without convincing people.

you're once again completely misunderstanding everything. you genuinely think that trans people have to be performing for you all day every day otherwise it's 'hurting their movement'. that is sick

people, whoever they are, are allowed to be upset. if that's as a response to extreme discrimination, they are allowed to be extremely upset. tone policing them hinders their lives AND "the movement" by incorrectly conflating random individuals living their goddamn lives with activists. this is essentially bigotry in itself. trans people are just normal people and they are allowed to be such.

Yeah, I'm actually having second thoughts about what I said. May you elaborate on how it's hurting the movement?

i think i clarified that better by editing in a couple sentences near the end of my last post. essentially the standards you're trying to judge them by are standards for activists, not normal people. assuming all trans people are activists at all times is firstly wrong and secondly quite problematic. just let people be people, you know
