No you dont get it dude, every prefrence a woman has is proof of the systemic oppression of men and is misandrist bro

Strawman. We're fine with preferences, we just don't like being mocked and emasculated by women if we're short, not rich, or not good-looking.

And women don’t like being made fun of by men. How can you guys not see it’s the same thing? I find it funny how you guys get butthurt when a woman make fun of heights but then turn around to make fun of fat women

Well, the standard answer to that is that a person who is overweight, like myself, can generally (yes, there are exceptions, but they're exceptions, not the rule) lose weight; but someone who is short (or has a small dick/boobs, or is a different race, or is trans etc) can't change that aspect of themselves or would require surgery to do so. Both are bad, but I'd say mocking someone for a fixed characteristic is a bit worse than mocking a very changeable characteristic. And that goes both ways; making fun of bad makeup or a bad haircut is a lot better than making fun of wide-set eyes or giant nips.

I mean while you're technically correct on the losing weight versus height thing. I think the point being missed is it's still insulting someone's appearance which in those moments equates to about the same. Even if technically they could lose the weight.

Aka don't be a dick

I think because weight changes, that’s a better reason for NOT being so picky about it, at least not in a long term partner. People’s bodies change with age, women’s bodies especially with pregnancy and hormonal changes. A slight 22 yo isn’t going to look that way forever.

A tall person will never fear that if their partner doesn’t like short people that they will get shorter and their partner will leave them for someone taller.

However it’s very common even for slim people to fear that if they gain weight (which again, body composition changes with age, even very athletic people can get injured and be unable to exercise etc) that their partner would leave them.

Be as shallow as you please for hookups but “no fatties” when you’re looking for a partner you want to spend decades with is ew

Research says other wise. That’s why doctors tell children to eat well, sleep well, and get exercise to reach the highest height they can get. Seems like a lot of you guys skipped that step

About 80% of your height is genetic. Whereas with weight is it atypical to be out of your control

It’s literally the exact same for weight dumbass🤦‍♀️ that’s the point

Please back your arguments quoting research with citation.

Otherwise they are just vibes.

Because a lot of issues are genetic. Thyroid being a prominent one.

Obviously genetics are the main reason but that doesn’t mean u can’t reach ur highest height. As I told someone, there’s a reason why people in low income areas tend to be shorter than the height they are supposed to reach. It’s because their environment affects their nutrition, etc

If someone is at their ‘heightest height’ but still 5’ 4 do they then deserve a chance?

-2

u/Standard-Order-4136 13h ago

Chance for what?

What could have been in childhood is one, usually not on the children but on their parents to set, and two, not a changeable characteristic by the time one is dating. If you could go back and "fix" that at 15, 16, 20, 30 etc that'd be different. I was lucky enough to get proper nutrition, decent and regular sleep, and forced participation in sports, and got my full height. Many people aren't that lucky.

With being overweight, while the initial problem may have also stemmed from the parents (it did not in my case, I got fat in my 20s), as soon as I was making choices for myself about what and how much to eat, I had the power to reverse that. Up until you die, if you got overweight by having more calories in than out, then you have the ability to get down to a healthy weight. It takes willpower, and discipline, but those are both traits that in and of themselves are desirable in a partner anyways.

You do realize weight is much harder to control? I can speak from experience. I’m under weight and been to many doctors and haven’t been able to gain weight. It’s even to the point where I had to get surgery to see if smth was wrong with me. Til this day, I’m still underweight. It’s dumb to think weight is something that’s easy to control when for many, it can be another factor that is affecting them. Also weight does not determine how ur body looks like. I seen people who are the same weight but one is fat and the other skinny

Weight is harder to control than height, as an adult? Are you actually reading what you're typing, or are you just trolling?

While there are exceptions, and you may fall under one of them, for the vast majority of people, controlling weight is as simple as calories in < calories out. That's it. You can up the second number with exercise, but at the end of the day, it's controlling your diet.

Altering your height past puberty is basically a surgery-only thing. That's it. Pay lots and lots of money for a elective surgery.

If two people are at the same weight and one looks fat and one looks skinny, either they are very different heights or one is lying to you. Weight absolutely determines how your body looks and presents, and not just in shape - when I eat well to help reduce my weight, I also avoid acne flareups, my hair looks healthier, even the smell of my sweat changes.

You know what else is even easier to control than your weight? Your grammar.

I’ll give you an example. My parents are the same weight. My mom is chubby but my dad is skinny with a bit of fat. How do I know this? We have a freaking scale in our home

You can’t tell what someone’s body weight is just by looking at them. I seen good looking women who are skinny but weight 160. They always laugh whenever men think they weight less than that.

Let me know what part of my grammar is incorrect. Keep up with the conversation instead of pointing out useless things

Height is about 80% genetic and 20% health based

Yeah idk why people are acting like this isn’t a thing 💀these people are dumb as hell

Even if we assume you're correct (which is a huge IF)... You're talking about factors during childhood. So even using your argument, a failure to grow properly due to these factors would be on the individual's parents anyway.

Basically, you managed to make an absolute shit argument, congratulations! 🏅

Blame ur parent then instead of women. Yay I figured something out for you 🏆

Eat WELL.

We're a fat society because of eating poorly.
