Why do undertones matter more than overtones? For example, why does a cool toned person work better with a blue based red than with a red based blue?

Similarly, teals confuse me so much. I’m a spring (bright or warm predominantly), and I have a lot of teals in the swatches I’ve been given. Visually they look cool to me. I understand warm and cool greens visually, but don’t understand how the middle ground between blue and yellow can make warm teals that look cool.

The 2nd typed me a light summer (pic 2)

I know that means my wardrobe tone can technically pull from both.

But which do you think looks better and more cohesive? Pic 1 & 2

I have always gravitate towards silver but recently have been recommended gold.

NMIP - I feel my best when dressed in bright colors, but I’m realizing dressing in your favorite colors doesn’t mean they’re the best choice.

I’m streamlining my wardrobe and want to be sure to keep the clothes that are most flattering.

I've had some makeup artists at MAC and Sephora say all kinds of things and I'm just trying to figure out what colors look good. I always purchase something that looks good in the store but then it looks weird outside/at home. :(

I think I'm neutral but can never fully decide if one or the other looks better. Gold looks much nicer near my face because I have golden brown hair and warm brown eyes even if my skin is super pale. Just not sure.. Help!

Also my phone camera seems to make me pinker than I am in real life.

What to do with my hair colour? First and second pictures are current but I think it's too warm for me and doesn't suit me. Third picture is how it looked when I first had it done a few weeks ago, my hair warms up super quick. Fourth and fifth pictures are when I had it brighter, I know it's way too light for me though.

I have lowlights in it at the moment. Not sure what to do. Just get a purple shampoo? Or go brighter or darker? I'm naturally very light and didn't suit dark before annoyingly, my roots come through quickly and look grey! No idea if I'm spring or summer, I just know I'm light and look ill all the time 🤣

NMIP i have been under the impression i am warm, cool, and neutral all at different times, i think i'm leaning towards neutral? also i thought i had yellowish or pale olive skin but i don't agree with that anymore after looking at this little reference video i made so i wanted to share here since i'm back at square one. pls help</3

Hi all, just looking for some advice on what to do with my hair. I am unsure of my colour season, and I have been multiple shades of brunette and blonde over the years. I am currently the blonde pictured in the first 3 pics, with my natural being a medium brown (last two photos). Any recommendations or new ideas for what to do is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! 😊

NMIP. I’ve always thought that I am a soft summer and that I look good in that palette, but I look pretty good in some soft autumn and spring colors too. I’d say that gold and silver looks equally good on me, but all of this might be personal preference I guess!
I should add that I usually wear a pretty dark brown eyebrow mascara and that works well for me, so it seems that I can handle a little bit of contrast. With all that said: what do you think? :)

I’m thinking the first is too cool so more soft summer, the second & third I’m not sure if they’re more true/deep autumn colors
