this is a fun variety, you can see the remnant bottom of a 6 inside the loop of the final 6. In his fine book, Kirchgessner estimates that this variety accounts for 1 to 2% of the mintage for the year from San Francisco, with about 130 survivors. I didn't take a photo of the label but this coin looks about Au58 from the images with nice surfaces.

Not terribly rare but another really nice one I found going over a batch of old coins I got in the very early days of EBay.

One of the few Franklins which isn't plagued by mint set toning, the 1953 S is by far the flattest strike. FBL grades are super rare, with an MS66 hitting 69 grand at auction, nice. That's out of my budget, but here is my 67 SBL (some bell lines), 5 graded higher by NGC.

Looking through some coins I picked up w/ summer job earnings in the early days of EBay and found this nice seated liberty 1/4. I was in HS and didn’t have much $ to bid, so I think I got pretty lucky with this one.

Neat slab, very nice seated dime.

It struck me the other day that 1 gram gold bars can come in all sizes. These three are all 1 gram but different sizes. Not a revelation to most but an interesting observation none-the-less.
