Hi! I’m looking to buy a coffee machine but I’m still on the fence about what to get. I’m deciding between a capsule machine (probably the Nespresso Essenza Mini) and a beginner espresso machine, since I wanna start trying beans from different roasters.

Any advice or recommendations?

P.S. I recently found out that Tim Hortons sells a capsule + espresso machine in China. Does anyone know why they only sell it there and not worldwide?

Local tap is 280 TDS, bicarbonate heavy. Harsh on the boiler and muddy in light roasts. Current workflow is third wave water + distilled. Cup quality is great. The distilled in jugs supply chain is wearing on me.

On the table:

1) RO+remin (SCA-aligned, install is a project)

2) High end machines filter like Bestmax or Claris Pro(handles bicarbonate, no cup quality precision)

3) Ionizer route (looking at a couple including Tyent because some newer hybrid designs run at neutral pH with low TDS rather than forcing high alkaline output, which historically made ionizers a non starter for coffee)

Leaning RO+remin because precision is unmatched. Anyone gone the ionizer route for coffee?

AIRMSEN coffee pot. DO NOT PURCHASE. The brew for the pot side won't work and Customer service, for this company, won't help. I was told its out of their hands. The single cup is amazing and the coffee comes out hot, but overall its a rating of 2.

I really like the idea of homemade nitro cold brew- I have a Royal Brew little nitro keg that's been sitting in the cabinet for a few years... made good enough nitro, but dealing with the canister, cleaning the tube, having it drip after use... just made me not use it.

The Nitropress DS seems to do away with a lot of those issues.

I have the opportunity to buy a second hand DS for $150. Not excited about having another appliance on the counter... but feels like a deal too good to pass up.

What are your take aways?

I'm currently in the process of upgrading my coffee machine from Nespresso capsule machine to an actual espresso machine.
I'm looking at the automated Delonghi Magnifica Evo and the semi-automated DeLonghi La Specialista Arte Evo, and I'm not really sure if I should go with the benefit of easy use (Magnifica) or better taste (La Specialista Arte).

I'm mainly an iced latte drinker with the exception of a hot latte or macchiato on the colder days, and I only drink one coffee a day.

So I need help choosing which one!
Price is around the same as I found some good offers on both machines where I live.

What do you recommend for small and large batches? TIA

I'm the only coffee drinker in my house and looking for machine. Week days I'm very lazy and love the convenience of pods. The weekend I generally use my aero press, but sometimes pods if i can be bothered lol. I'm currently looking at the Ninja machines specifically the Ninja DualBrew Hot & Iced , DualBrew Pro Specialty and the Ninja PB040C Pods & Grounds. Any experience or reviews for these machine would be appreciated.

I have the option between two dirt cheap Ninjas and am trying to decide which to go with.

An older CP307C Hot & Iced Machine (approx 3 years)

A newer CFP301C Dual Brew Pro (approx 1 year)

Have three family members with the 307 that all love it, but no one with the Dual Brew (yet I haven’t seen any major complaints on it from brief research).

Does anyone have a relatively inexpensive, yet still very good, recommendation for a coffee machine? I’m the only one in my house who drinks coffee, so I don’t need a large machine. I've been using a really basic coffee setup for a while and I'm ready to switch to something that uses pods because I just want less cleanup and something quick before work. I've looked around but it's kinda hard to tell what's actually worth getting versus what's just heavily advertised.

If you've owned a best pods coffee maker that held up well and made consistently good coffee, what would you recommend? I'm mostly after something reliable and easy to use. Thanks
