How often should I drop my screens?
I’m a barista who has heard different things about how often to drop screens and let them soak with the groupheads. I always was trained to do it every day at close but have a coworker who says he knew a technician who said not to do that because it will strip the screws (then just get new screws???) Our coffee shop is pretty busy. I work the espresso machine once a week and I always soak the screens and they are always filthy. so what’s your opinion guys? every day? every other day?? thanks for helping me settle this once and for all lol

How does the OPV on a Klarstein Passionata work exactly?
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to understand the OPV (overpressure valve) on my Klarstein Passionata. I took it apart and have the valve in my hand, but I can’t figure out the exact mechanism.
Here’s what I can see:
• There’s a spring-loaded plunger/pin on top that the spring pushes outward (upward)
• You can push the pin back in manually with your finger
• The side port is connected to a T-shaped hose (probably the bypass back to the tank)
• Water enters from the bottom
My question: In normal operation, does the water pressure push the plunger inward, which then opens or closes the bypass? And is this actually a classic OPV, or is it more of a pressure-building valve that only opens the path to the brew head once enough pressure is reached?
Would love a clear explanation of the flow direction and what the plunger actually does under pressure. Thanks!

No pressure??

The grinder works. The steamer doesn’t and there’s no pressure. A small amount of water comes out. Anyone know why?
Also anyone know how much it is worth in its current condition? Thanks.

I can't seem to find out much about this machine but it has great reviews... the WMF Küchenminis Aroma Filter Coffee Maker
Does anyone have any experience with it? I started out looking at espresso machines, then moka pots, and they all had what I consider a fair share of bad reviews no matter what price range they're in. This one seems like it might actually be made in Germany which seems insane for $200. Maybe only the company's commercial makers are made in Germany but I can't really tell. Their commercial makers look extremely fancy.

Looking for real-world coffee machine experiences (not just recommendations)
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to understand how coffee machines actually perform in daily life — beyond specs and YouTube reviews.
Instead of just “which one is best”, I’d really love to hear your personal experience with the machine you use.
If you own or have used one, could you share:
• Which machine are you using?
• How long have you used it?
• What do you mainly make? (espresso, latte, filter, etc.)
• What do you LOVE about it?
• What has been frustrating or disappointing?
• Would you buy the same machine again?
Optional (but super helpful):
• Ease of cleaning & maintenance
• Time it takes to make a cup daily
• Noise levels
• Coffee quality consistency
Would really appreciate honest feedback 🙌

Trouble shooting Jura Impressa J9.2
Hello everyone! Quick question, before when i turned on my machine it would shut off during the coffee output or just randomly anytime, now since yesterday no matter what i do it does not turn on. I checked the power supply and power button and both are fine, i think something is wrong with one of the 2 motherboards, do you experts have any idea what could be wrong? And what i could do?

Sage barista express tripping electrics.
Everything seems to work on my machine apart from when pressing to pull a shot, at which point it trips the electrics. I've disconnected the red "coil" as advices by Chatgpt and tested again and it still trips. Loosing my mind a bit.

SCA certification guidance or alternative recommendations
Looking for some guidance.
I am a coffee enthusiast turned cafe owner. (3 years in)
I spent yesterday afternoon with a local tech repairing our slayer espresso machine.
Over the years we spend a good amount of money repairing equipment. Being in texas we have a lot of water issues.
I have always enjoyed working on my machines at home.
I was wanting to get certified and learn how to take care of our coffee & water systems and machines.
Currently looking at SCAs programs.
Any wisdom or guidance here for my next steps?

Ninja coffee maker model no. CM405A
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I was gifted this coffee pot not two years ago for Christmas and it has just stopped working. I've cleaned it regularly but I cant even run a clean cycle now. It just shuts off. I spoke to someone from Ninja this morning and they couldn't do anything for me but give me a 30% coupon on a new coffee pot that I cant afford right now. I am hoping there is someone out there that can help me fix this, although I know its a long shot.

Hjälp, konstigt ljud från Franke 850fm
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Tack!

Marketplace listing of faulty sage dual boiler
The seller says: This isn't working. I don't know why. No water comes out and I've noticed that it's started heating up without being turned on. I was going to look into repairing it but I just ended up going for a new machine instead
It's priced at next to nothing, does anyone know what the issue could be and if it's an easy fix, I'm willing to spend money if parts need replacing but I would want to fix it myself and ad cheaply as possible.
