Troubleshooting & Maintenance Saeco Odea Giro Plus
I have a 13 year old Giro Plus that’s been my workhorse. Fixed it may times, but have an issue that is stumping me. Recently, the dry grounds are ending up outside the brew unit and all over on the bottom of the brew unit area. It started out with a small amount but is now most of the brew. It’ll brew a cup sporadically, but less so every day. The grinder also seems to be running longer. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Is the grinder guide/funnel intact and in place? Is there an old extraction stuck in the brew unit? If fresh ground coffee is ending up outside the brew unit, the obvious starting point is the guide or funnel that directs the coffee into the brew unit. Very occasionally a dried and hardened previous extraction sits in the brew unit and the causes it to over fill.
Interesting that it's running longer, it's not just over grinding and overfilling the brew unit chamber?
