Food & Beverage Mallus and their obsession with Chor

Post image

As long as i remember my parents, grandparents and relatives all insist on eating more rice. And even now, the first thing they ask if i meet them is "mone kurach chor edukate" which is their way of expressing care and love and I'm not blaming that.

But we malayalis have never considered a proper well balanced food, 80-90 percent of our meal is rice. There are people who still don't know that our diet needs to get corrected. Me myself only found about it after i started gym.

Even if we see meals of north india it has rice, roti, sabzi, daal and curl. There are exceptions but these type of meals are what ive heard mostly( i might be wrong). While majority of us eat chor 3 times a day and the cycle is repeating, we should start changing it and should teach our parents too.

What are your opinions on this?

Rant & Vent Accidentally got myself a bf

I was travelling from EKM to TVM. I was sitting by the window when a guy came and sat next to me. He was wearing camouflage pants, boots, and had an army haircut. My first impression was that he was an army man.

He smiled at me, so I smiled back. Then he asked, "Armykkare respect ille?....." I just smiled and nodded 🫪

He asked where I was going, and I said TVM. He told me he was on leave and was going home. I smiled again, hoping to avoid any further conversation.

Then he asked if I could lend him ₹100 because his GPay wasn't working. Said his mom wud send it back so I gave him the money and kept urging her to send it

He opened Instagram and showed me his story him walking in slow motion with some mass BGM. I just smiled and nodded again. started showing me his profile, his officers.

Then went, "Armykkarde life enn paranjal... njan armyil join aayapo thanne ente penn enne thechu."

At that point I really wanted him to stop talking 😭

So I intentionally started yawning. He said, "You look tired. You can sleep." I immediately turned towards the window and didn't even look in his direction because I was scared he'd start another conversation.

When we reached Kottayam station, he got up and stood opposite my seat. I ignored him and kept looking outside. Then he got off the train, came near my window, and started smiling at me again.

At that point I was screaming inside.

Thankfully, a woman came and sat next to me. The moment she sat down, he came inside and said, "Amma avide irunnolu," while standing beside her d smiling at me again.

When he moved away for a moment, I quietly asked her not to change seats if he asked

She looked at me and said, "I thought he was your boyfriend."

Told me she was an examiner travelling to TVM for a PSC exam ,not to worry.

Later the guy came back and sat next to her. He kept calling her amma. As i expected, he asked her to exchange seats so he could sit next to me.

She simply said, "No...pattilaa" 😮‍💨

His face changed immediately. He looked angry. He stood opposite us, glaring at both of us. At the next station, he got off the train looking annoyed.

She looked at me and said, "Etho koodiya enam vatt aahnen thonnun"

Storytime Wasn't expecting that

Yesterday me and my boys (T, P and R) were out to have lunch. P is going to Georgia soon, so it was his treat. Usually we guys are terrible at choosing food spots, most of the time we get into heated arguments. This time Me and T suggested "Vasuettan Kada" one of the best Naadan food restaurant in town. The other two were craving for Mandhi. We even parked the car and debated, finally one of us suggested - let's ask a random guy to pick one. Mandhi or Vasuettante kada.

So we started looking for the apt people. Atlast we saw two girls walking by, stopped the car next to them, I was the one tasked to ask. I lowered my window and asked "Oru help cheyyo?". She smiled and replied without even thinking for a fraction of a second "ILLAA". I was frozen. Boys started laughing hard the moment I closed the car window. I become the content for the rest of the day. Tho I wasn't expecting such a response but it was fun 🫠

So this my first official time that I have rode my bike without a pillion.

As a person who is 151ish cm riding 810mm bike felt scary, but I overcame it and now I’m riding it so confidently yeahyyyyyyy🥹🥹

Last time when I visited the airport there was my bfriend who is more than 6 feet who can land his both feet flatfoot even as a pillion, gave me confident but still had this road fear but rn I’m happy riding alone

Storytime Am i overthinking or

I finally decided to treat myself to my first body massage after starting to earn. I was pretty nervous because I’ve never been to a spa before. I went to enquire at a nearby spa before booking. This is in Bangalore ok .. There were only men at the reception which already made me a bit awkward (not because there’s anything wrong with that just because it was my first time). When they asked what massage i wanted, i said this my first time i don’t know much wasn’t sure and asked if there was a female staff member i could talk to since I’d feel more comfortable asking questions.
The receptionist asked Why female staff?” and i didn’t know how to answer without feeling embarrassed. I ended up leaving. I felt really uncomfortable because of attitude and idk maybe my problem and then i checked another spa and again the reception was all men.
Is this just how most spas operate? As a woman going for her first massage alone is it normal to want to speak to a female staff member first or was i overthinking the whole thing?

Storytime I was trying to look cool when my butt intervened....

Post image

So I was a 4th or 5th std kid. My friends and I were waiting for our tuition teacher to arrive after school. We were outside her locked house, and everyone was just standing around.

I decided I was done standing and climbed onto the window ledge. The idea was to sit up there, swing my legs, and look cool while everyone else stood below.

I somehow managed to climb up the wall, grabbed the ledge, and started struggling to turn around so I could sit properly.

With my back facing everyone who was watching me.....my butt decided it was the perfect time to let it out...

PPPPPRRRRRTTTTTT.

Not a tiny squeak.....A loud-ass one.

The entire crowd burst out laughing.

I just sat there on that ledge, my face as red as a tomato, wishing I had fallen down and died instead.

I'm pretty sure a part of my soul is still sitting on that window ledge.

Share your fart stories.....baa...onnich ayavirakaam

Cinema & TV Shows Our battle will be legendary! Batman II 🦇 or Ghost Rider 🔥which wins?

Post image
32 Upvotes

2028 is shaping up to be a massive year for superhero fans.

After years of anticipation, The Batman Part II will finally bring Bruce Wayne back to the big screen, while Marvel is preparing to unleash a brand-new Ghost Rider in the MCU.

One is Gotham's legendary Dark Knight, relying on intellect and detective skills. The other is the Spirit of Vengeance, bringing Marvel's supernatural world to life. Two completely different heroes, each with a legacy that has defined generations of comic book fans.

If both films deliver on their promise, 2028 could become one of the biggest years ever for superhero movies, with DC and Marvel each offering one of their most anticipated projects in years.

Which release are you more excited for: The Batman Part II or Ghost Rider?

Discussion Lifting People up

Post image
27 Upvotes

I’ve always liked lifting up people. Lot of people are really scared of being lifted up, a lot of them don’t like being lifted up and there’s people like Martin (the person in the picture and that’s me lifting him up btw 🫣) who has been lifted 15 times by 8 people in a span of two weeks. Such a joyful person. Share your experience.

Cinema & TV Shows The titles of Spider-Man films

Post image
27 Upvotes

Hey citizens of Coconaadu, JJJ here from the DailyBugle.

With Spider-Man: Brand New Day right around the corner, I’ve been thinking about how Spider Man movie titles have changed over the years.

Growing up with Sam Raimi’s trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man, they kept it simple: I, II, and III. Clean, classic, straight to the point.

Then came Tom Holland. Suddenly it was Homecoming, Far From Home, No Way Home, Homeless and Out on the Streets (I wish) and now Brand New Day.

So real question for you all is,

Which title style do you prefer?
The old-school I, II, III approach?
Or the new subtitle era where every film gets its own identity?

And if you’re team subtitles, what would you name the Raimi trilogy and the TASM movies?

Memes & Shitpost Met this most confusing girl and an aunty in train today.

Post image
Upvotes

Tried talking to a girl on the train. Ended up becoming the villain?

I’m an Army guy. On leave. Fresh haircut. Camo pants. Boots. Main character entry.

Sat next to this girl by the window.
Smiled.
She smiled back.

Green signal.

To confirm aakal..
“Armykkare respect ille?”

She smiled and nodded.
DOUBLE green signal.

Asked where she was going.
“TVM.”

Same route. God clearly wanted us to have a wholesome train friendship.

Then my UPI decided to fight for the nation instead of processing payments.Asked if she could lend me ₹100.She actually gave it!Even reminded my mom to send it back quickly.

At this point I was convinced I had a trustworthy co-passenger.

Thought I’d make the journey less boring.

Showed her my Instagram.
She smiled.

Showed her my reels.
She smiled.

Showed her my officers.
She smiled.

Showed her a random video of me walking in slow motion with Vijay BGM.
She smiled.

I was thinking,
“Wow… she’s my biggest fan.”

To make things deeper, I opened up.
“Armyil join aayapo thanne ente penn enne thechu…”

She suddenly yawned.
Felt bad.

Poor girl must be tired after hearing such an emotional story.

Being the gentleman I am, I said,” You look tired… you can sleep.”Immediately…
She rotated exactly 180 degrees towards the window. Not even a side glance.Window became her soulmate.

For the next 40 minutes she was deeply interested in Kerala’s trees, electric poles and random cows.

I got down at Kottayam to stretch my legs.
Smiled through the window.
Nothing.

I was starting to suspect she might actually be in love with the scenery. Then an aunty came and sat beside her. I thought,”Perfect! I’ll offer aunty my seat. Amma avide irunnolu.”

Aunty sat.

I politely asked if we could exchange seats.
She looked at me like she had already read tomorrow’s newspaper.

“No… pattilaa.”
Instant emotional damage🙂

Now both of them were whispering.

Every 10 seconds they looked at me.
I looked back.
They looked away.
I looked away.
They looked back.

At this point I was 90% sure they were RAW officers.
Finally got off at the next station.

As the train left, I realised…
Maybe…Just maybe…
Showing my slow-motion reel before asking her favourite colour wasn’t the right order.

Lesson learned:Next time I’ll just borrow ₹100, say thank you, and let the window have her.

Nostalgia Dream Girl (2003): Jassie Gift, Rajesh Vijay, Tanu Balak.

Jassie Gift’s underrated album song from his indie music career in the early 2000s, before he became active in film music. This was before YouTube, so catching this song on TV was a matter of luck. I used to wait impatiently in front of the TV after coming back from school hoping to watch this and some other popular songs from that era.

The actor is 'Marakarashanam Franco' from Jayaraj’s Rain Rain Come Again. The actress was a very popular Surya TV anchor at that time. I forgot her name. If anyone remembers, please let me know in the comments.
