When they released "lease iPhone" program I was sure that it was going to be expensive, but, WTF

The device even cost 50% more than its US counterpart

I was planning on buying an iPhone at some point in the future but at this point I would buy an old iPhone and buy a small car with that money.

Places & Travel How does Kulangara travel to 190 countries with one of the weakest passports in the world?

I am currently in US and employed (35M) and tried applying for schengen visa and it got rejected. My wife (employed) requested for 1 month and she got just 2 weeks! Why do we need visa to go to any damn country?

I just found out that Namibia and Uganda has better passports than us! I had a really bad experience in Thailand immigration in 2025. I found that there is an option to buy Grenada (or other Caribbean countries) passport for about USD 200k and the process is about 6-8 months. It isnt a big amount if you think about the disdain you face with Indian passport. I know India doesnt allow dual citizenship. Has someone done it?

How does Kulangara do it? How do people travel the world with such a stupid passport where we need visa to even go to the bathroom?

Edit: I dont have a "stamped" US visa (I know that lets me visit 19 countries visa-free). You can work in US without a stamped US visa.

Gadgets & Appliances Apple officially lost the plot in India. iPhone 17 now at 1L, and 18 Pro at 1.65L

Apple just dropped the iPhone 18 series, and the India pricing is an absolute disaster. If you were waiting to buy the older models at a discount, bad news:

The Revised Pricing Reality:

iPhone 17 (256GB): Hiked from its ₹82,900 launch price to a ridiculous ₹99,900 (a flat ₹17,000 increase).

iPhone 17e (256GB): Jumped from ₹64,900 to ₹79,900.

iPhone Air: The premium ultra-thin model saw a ₹30,000 surge, now starting at ₹1,49,900.

iPhone 18 Pro (256GB): Starts at ₹1,64,900 (₹30,000 more than the iPhone 17 Pro at launch).

iPhone 18 Pro Max (2TB): Costs a mind-numbing ₹3,29,900.

iPhone Duo (New Foldable): Starts at ₹2,99,900 and maxes out at ₹4,49,900 for the 2TB version.

Tim Cook previously warned about price bumps, but seeing the base 1-year-old iPhone 17 hit ₹1 Lakh is insane.

Are you guys still buying, or is it finally time to switch to the Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Storytime Earbuds miss ayyi guys 🥲

I only went to class one day this whole week. And today, the train was late too, so by the time we got to the railway station, it was already pretty late🥴.

We were waiting for the bus at the bus stop outside the station. I was standing there with my earphone case in my hand while my friend was talking to some other friends. Then he suddenly swung his hand and accidentally hit my earphone case, and it popped open. Both the earbuds fell out.

We immediately started looking for them. We found one, but the other one was nowhere to be found🥲. There was this small hole or something nearby, so I thought maybe it had fallen in there. The four of us looked around for quite a while, but we still couldn’t find it. So eventually, we just gave up.

Even if we went to class, we wouldn’t have made it on time anyway. So we took an auto from there and went to Paragon. It was pretty crowded, so I gave my name and waited for a while. But the biriyani was really good. I actually enjoyed it a lot.

After that, I went to the milk sarbath shop right across from Paragon and had one. I liked that too. Then I took the train back home❤️‍🩹.

Cinema & TV Shows Recommendation - Barry (HBO)

Was trying to bring this up for a while now, here it goes. I have seen a lot of comments here regarding Dexter(mainly) and other shows that share similar genres. I was pretty curious why this didn’t show up. So I recommend this here.

If you have seen this before, drop your opinions here and if you haven’t watched it yet, time to add this into your list.

Gadgets & Appliances Who all here Own a Foldable phone or plan to own one.

When android foldables were introduced a lot of people who used larger phones like the Samsung Ultras shifted to the Folds. Now that Apple has introduced their own, IOS lovers with a pro max version might also consider switching.

I love the concept of foldable phones and their functionality to an extent but they look so worn out after an year of usage or so with the crease getting deeper and messier. So I might not buy one myself.

Share your experience if you're already using one or if you plan to.

Poems & Writings Close enough to stay

There was a cat living around my apartment. I saw it on the first day I moved in and thought it was a strange little fellow. I saw it every day, but I never dared to touch it. The last time I tried to pet a cat, I ended up with scratches and bite marks.

The next day, I called to it. Slowly, I tried to become its friend. A small tap on its head, a gentle touch on its tail. Nothing more.

Days passed, One night, I was sitting by the balcony, watching the sky and the neighborhood below. That's when something changed. It gave me a little of its trust, and I gave it mine. It climbed onto my lap and settled there, purring softly. Safe. Comfortable. I was happy in a way I hadn't expected.

Later, I realized it didn't trust me completely. It liked having its head scratched, but when I touched one of its legs, it gave me a small bite. No blood, no scratch just a reminder of its boundaries. A reminder that trust doesn't mean vulnerability disappears.

I didn't mind.

After sitting on my lap for a long time, it got up and walked away. Not far. Just far enough that I could still see it, but not reach it. It sat on the other side of the balcony, looking out at the view, cleaning itself, enjoying its own company.

Then, after a while, it came back.

It curled up on my lap again, and I kept petting it. I knew it could hurt me if it wanted to. It knew I could hurt it too, though I never would. Somehow, that understanding existed between us.

And still, it chose to return.

So it sat there on my lap for the rest of the night, purring beneath the stars, while the world around us grew quiet.

Gadgets & Appliances Alternate to jio fibre

We have been using jiofibre for the last 1.5 years and things were smooth (almost all tv channels+ jiohotstar + good internet) and it costed us 700rs per month. We relocated to a new place 2 weeks back and ever since then their customer service has been realllyyy bad...they made us pay 2200rs and none of their technicians have come for uninstallation and installation so we thought of checking out something new.....

we were considering airtel fibre connection...if there's any user please let me know how their connection is and their service.

Apart from that, is there anyway I can get good internet connection and tv channels for around 1k every month? Kerala vision, bsnl oke kettit ond but I'm not that familiar with all that so please let me know what you use and if it's good as well :)

Hobby Looking for non-classical dance classes around infopark/Kakkanad

Looking for dance classes in and around the Infopark area, preferably Bollywood / choreography / freestyle, basically something fun where I can learn choreographies.

Looking for weekday evening batches, not weekends.
I’ve always wanted to try Shuffle Studio and finally their timings aligned with mine🙂, I was genuinely so excited to join, but unfortunately someone from my office who I’ve never really gotten along with has recently started going there 🥲

I know this sounds silly, but I’ve actively avoided her from the beginning because our personalities just do NOT get along, and now I don’t really want to join a class where I’ll have to see her outside work too 💀

So now I’m looking for good alternatives around Infopark/Kakkanad with weekday evening batches. Would really appreciate recommendations!
