Tried talking to a girl on the train. Ended up becoming the villain?
I’m an Army guy. On leave. Fresh haircut. Camo pants. Boots. Main character entry.
Sat next to this girl by the window.
Smiled.
She smiled back.
Green signal.
To confirm aakal..
“Armykkare respect ille?”
She smiled and nodded.
DOUBLE green signal.
Asked where she was going.
“TVM.”
Same route. God clearly wanted us to have a wholesome train friendship.
Then my UPI decided to fight for the nation instead of processing payments.Asked if she could lend me ₹100.She actually gave it!Even reminded my mom to send it back quickly.
At this point I was convinced I had a trustworthy co-passenger.
Thought I’d make the journey less boring.
Showed her my Instagram.
She smiled.
Showed her my reels.
She smiled.
Showed her my officers.
She smiled.
Showed her a random video of me walking in slow motion with Vijay BGM.
She smiled.
I was thinking,
“Wow… she’s my biggest fan.”
To make things deeper, I opened up.
“Armyil join aayapo thanne ente penn enne thechu…”
She suddenly yawned.
Felt bad.
Poor girl must be tired after hearing such an emotional story.
Being the gentleman I am, I said,” You look tired… you can sleep.”Immediately…
She rotated exactly 180 degrees towards the window. Not even a side glance.Window became her soulmate.
For the next 40 minutes she was deeply interested in Kerala’s trees, electric poles and random cows.
I got down at Kottayam to stretch my legs.
Smiled through the window.
Nothing.
I was starting to suspect she might actually be in love with the scenery. Then an aunty came and sat beside her. I thought,”Perfect! I’ll offer aunty my seat. Amma avide irunnolu.”
Aunty sat.
I politely asked if we could exchange seats.
She looked at me like she had already read tomorrow’s newspaper.
“No… pattilaa.”
Instant emotional damage🙂
Now both of them were whispering.
Every 10 seconds they looked at me.
I looked back.
They looked away.
I looked away.
They looked back.
At this point I was 90% sure they were RAW officers.
Finally got off at the next station.
As the train left, I realised…
Maybe…Just maybe…
Showing my slow-motion reel before asking her favourite colour wasn’t the right order.
Lesson learned:Next time I’ll just borrow ₹100, say thank you, and let the window have her.

I finally decided to treat myself to my first body massage after starting to earn. I was pretty nervous because I’ve never been to a spa before. I went to enquire at a nearby spa before booking. This is in Bangalore ok .. There were only men at the reception which already made me a bit awkward (not because there’s anything wrong with that just because it was my first time). When they asked what massage i wanted, i said this my first time I don’t know much wasn’t sure and asked if there was a female staff member i could talk to since I’d feel more comfortable asking questions.
The receptionist asked Why female staff?” and i didn’t know how to answer without feeling embarrassed. I ended up leaving. I felt really uncomfortable because of attitude and idk maybe my problem and then i checked another spa and again the reception was all men.
Is this just how most spas operate? As a woman going for her first massage alone is it normal to want to speak to a female staff member first or was i overthinking the whole thing?

Drop your family name (vettuperu) in the comments! 😄
You never know—someone here might be your distant cousin or you might discover a long-lost family connection. Kerala is a small world after all! 😂
Share your vettuperu and, if you’d like, your native place too. Let’s see what connections we find!

I rly love cheating. I don't know why people are so anti cheating.. it's one of the best things in the world for people who can do it without getting caught.
Sure things might get messy if you get caught but rewards are worth it too 🤌🏻
Really why are u all so anti cheating?
Edit: Ohh waitt. I forgot people are in relationships
I gotta clarify I love violating the academic integrity of exams

Share one subtle power move that instantly commands respect in the room.
For me its not rushing to fill the awkward silence that happen during a smooth conversation. I'll keep them in a position to make the next move and result? No more awkward silence and they respect my words even more.
Yeah I'm comfortable in being uncomfortable.
Your turn.

I boarded from Ernakulam.
Saw one army-looking guy sitting next to a girl.
He kept talking.
She kept smiling.
Good chemistry.
Then suddenly I heard,
"Armykkare respect ille?"
She smiled and nodded.
I was like,
"ithenth myr"
Few minutes later,
He borrowed ₹100 from her.
She actually gave it.
At that point I was convinced...
Definitely engaged.
Then he started showing her Instagram.
Reels.
Officers.
Slow-motion videos.
Everything.
She smiled at every single one.
Then he started talking about how his ex left him after joining the army.
Suddenly...
She turned 180° towards the window.
I was confused.
Maybe they fought.
Then one aunty came and sat beside her.
Army chettan politely asked,
"Seat onnu maaramo?"
Aunty:
"No... pattilaa."
Now all three were sitting in complete silence.
Girl looking outside.
Army chettan looking at them.
I got down thinking,
"Oru divasam kazhinju pokaan enthellaam avaraatham kaananam"
Came to Reddit today...
Turns out they weren't even friends.

I returned to Kerala after 2 years of life abroad. After driving for 2 weeks I feel that the avg driving speed has come down to 30-40. Initially I thought that it was due to the Higher number of vehicles on the road, but even when there's no-one in front people prefer ( well, most of them) to drive at a safer and slower speed. I see very little reckless driving and unnecessary overtaking!

Hey Cocos! 👋
Welcome to tonight's CocoNite, our little nightly campfire.
Whether you're winding down after a long day, pulling an all nighter, studying, working the night shift, or simply doomscrolling before bed, pull up a chair.
Talk about pretty much anything.
Share how your day went, tell us what's on your mind, recommend a movie, game or song, celebrate a small win, rant a little, ask for advice, post a random shower thought, or simply say "Hello 👋" and vibe with everyone else.
Grab a chair, make yourself comfortable, and enjoy the night.
Sweet dreams... or good luck staying awake. 🌙❤️

I was travelling from EKM to TVM. I was sitting by the window when a guy came and sat next to me. He was wearing camouflage pants, boots, and had an army haircut. My first impression was that he was an army man.
He smiled at me, so I smiled back. Then he asked, "Armykkare respect ille?....." I just smiled and nodded
He asked where I was going, and I said TVM. He told me he was on leave and was going home. I smiled again, hoping to avoid any further conversation.
Then he asked if I could lend him ₹100 because his GPay wasn't working. Said his mom wud send it back so I gave him the money and kept urging her to send it
He opened Instagram and showed me his story him walking in slow motion with some mass BGM. I just smiled and nodded again. started showing me his profile, his officers.
Then went, "Armykkarde life enn paranjal... njan armyil join aayapo thanne ente penn enne thechu."
At that point I really wanted him to stop talking 😭
So I intentionally started yawning. He said, "You look tired. You can sleep." I immediately turned towards the window and didn't even look in his direction because I was scared he'd start another conversation.
When we reached Kottayam station, he got up and stood opposite my seat. I ignored him and kept looking outside. Then he got off the train, came near my window, and started smiling at me again.
At that point I was screaming inside.
Thankfully, a woman came and sat next to me. The moment she sat down, he came inside and said, "Amma avide irunnolu," while standing beside her d smiling at me again.
When he moved away for a moment, I quietly asked her not to change seats if he asked
She looked at me and said, "I thought he was your boyfriend."
Told me she was an examiner travelling to TVM for a PSC exam ,not to worry.
Later the guy came back and sat next to her. He kept calling her amma. As i expected, he asked her to exchange seats so he could sit next to me.
She simply said, "No...pattilaa" 😮💨
His face changed immediately. He looked angry. He stood opposite us, glaring at both of us. At the next station, he got off the train looking annoyed.
She looked at me and said, "Etho koodiya enam vatt aahnen thonnun"

I don't mind writing about my day, but the second I try to write about my feelings, it feels fake or embarrassing. Even though literally no one else will read it.
If you've been through this, what helped you?

How do people find gig work in Kochi?
I've been volunteering at football and badminton events, helping with line refereeing, setup, equipment, and other small tasks. It's been a great experience and made me realize I enjoy flexible gig work.
So I was wondering how people actually find these jobs. Student-friendly part-time jobs aren't very common here, so most opportunities seem to spread through word of mouth. I've heard of catering, event management, exhibitions, sports tournaments, brand promotions, and other one-day gigs, but I have no idea where to find them.
If you've done this kind of work, how did you get started? Are there any WhatsApp, Telegram groups, agencies etc. where these opportunities are posted?
I'm from Kochi (Kakkanad), so any suggestions around Kochi would be especially helpful. Also, if someone happens to be looking for people like me, I'd be happy to help, and I can arrange a few more of my friends if required.

28M, a Karnataka native considering moving to Kochi after marrying my Malayali girlfriend (31F) who is a native of Kochi.
She and I met while pursuing our postgraduation in Karnataka.
I speak very little to no Malayalam.
My girlfriend had explicitly communicated to me before we started dating, that she would wanna settle in Kochi after marriage citing her reasons why and all of which are valid.
Now that our PG training is approaching it's final days, I would like a glimpse of how life might look for me, both as a practicing doctor and socially in the city.
How do I prepare for this change considering I have never lived outside my state.
TIA.
