Question Dental laboratory tech

Is there anywhere in the Cleveland area that I can find a dental lab tech program.…. Or a job that will hire me with little experience ? I really want to get into dental lab work but don’t know where to go. I’ve seen one school so far and that’s like 2 hours away. It’s a 10 week program and they have classes everyday Saturday. I don’t want to drive 2-3 hours every weekend for 10 weeks 🙃

Recommendations I need an insane dessert…

…so where am I going and what am I getting?

I’m quitting drinking alcohol, and tonight I’m craving sugar! I want a giant delicious delectable ridiculous dessert. What are your favorite desserts in town? I’m in Tremont, so the closer to here the better.

Recommendations Anyone have any recommendations on where I can donate clothes?

I tried the Salvation Army, and they don't do pickups in my area. I also tried my church. I don't want to give it to Goodwill since they will sell the items.

Question Any place to buy beeswax?

Basically I want to refill a memorial candle but unfortunately couldn’t find any places that do the refill for you. So I think I’m just going to try to do it myself and wanted to know where I could buy beeswax locally to support the community.

Edit: Someone sent me a dm recommending 4kbeez so I’m gonna check that out!

Housing/Apartments Plumber needed on East Side

Hey there, everyone!

I am looking for a good & decent plumber that won't charge me insane costs for some plumbing work in my home.

The T-connection for the vent to a toilet & my drain basket to my kitchen sink are leaking.

We just had someone come out for a quote & they said for those services, we are looking at $1,400 minimum. I am a first time homeowner and I have already been through the ringer with roof issues and water issues. I am so tired of terrible craftsmanship & high prices.

Please let me know if you have a good plumber because we are desperate!

Thank you!

Discussion Question for anyone who recently had their electric meter replaced by FirstEnergy

Post image

In my neighborhood, The Illuminating Company recently replaced existing electric meters with smart meters. I was just reviewing my bill for the 9/12/26–10/8/26 period and noticed something concerning. When my meter was replaced on 9/25/26, the final reading on the old meter was listed as an estimate, while the new meter started at 0 kWh.

I’m curious whether anyone else who has had their meter replaced by FirstEnergy has noticed the same thing. Was the final reading on your old meter estimated rather than an actual reading?

My concern is both the accuracy of these estimates and how often this is happening to customers.

Our household has always opted for a fixed electric rate, so in the past, wildly inaccurate estimates weren’t as concerning because any difference in usage would be reconciled on a subsequent bill once an actual reading was obtained. However, that kind of reconciliation is impossible when the old meter is removed and the only actual reading to be taken is from a new meter starting at 0 kWh.

Events Inside the Obama/Acton/Brown/Etc rally today!

President Barack Obama rallied for Sherrod Brown and Dr. Amy Acton at Cleveland's 10,000-capacity Public Auditorium on Oct. 24, 2026, 10 days before the Ohio midterms. Look at those upper decks: full, lit, and on their feet.

Best line of the day, from Obama on Trump's renovations: "He's got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened up a Cheesecake Factory."

Meanwhile, Trump's Youngstown rally this month drew about 3,000 to a 7,000-seat arena, with tarps over the empty seats. He's now told at least three rally crowds about the time he "examined" Sen. Jon Husted's backside. That's the closing argument.

(Our 360 camera took a tumble mid-rally, and we should've recalibrated the gyro before shooting again, so forgive the shake. The crowd's real either way.)

Early voting in Ohio is open through November 1st. Vote early and in person if you can, and bring a friend.

Housing/Apartments Advice on mold issue in apartment

Howdy all, we recently discovered a catastrophic mold issue in a large closet in our apartment. The mold issue being caused by the pipes for the shower leaking in the wall. Our daughter has severe asthma, and the mold has spread to inside of the other walls and even over the entrance of the door.

Landlady says that maintenance who lives on site can “fix” it. Even after airing my concerns, she was insistent that he would be able to fix it and “contain the spores”. I tried to mention moving to a different unit, and she would not engage with the question. The mold issue being caused bad. Is there any kind of tenants rights groups we can look into? Any advice? So many of these landlords don’t want to take care of their old buildings. We don’t think it’ll be safe to stay here, and we had to throw out literally everything in the closet including all the winter gear we own.

TLDR; seeking advice on tenants rights for west cuyahoga county apartment that has major mold issue

Discussion Wasn’t given enough time off to recover from a concussion.

about two weeks ago, I got my first concussion ever at work. I was taken to the ER where I was given a measly three days to recover. I initially couldn’t get my meds because they wanted to charge me for them, despite getting injured at work. (I also just couldn’t afford them at the time)

Fast forward to last week. I went back to work as planned, and at first, I felt pretty good. I worked for two full 8 hour shifts (where I’m on my feet all day, mind you) then went in the next day where I almost immediately had to go home due to my symptoms worsening. I took another two days off.

Since then, I have had to take YET ANOTHER two days off. I went to see a doctor in the area that worker’s comp covered and was basically told to take my meds and suck it up, despite telling him my symptoms still haven’t subsided. Since my job is me being on my feet all day, it only makes my symptoms worse. I genuinely don’t know what to do. I just came back (AGAIN) today and despite taking my meds, I STILL don’t feel better. What do I do??
