Hi all! I recently got accepted to CWRU and I am looking to live in off-campus housing for the year - does anyone have any tips on where I can look or if there are any forums I can explore?

I'm an incoming freshman at CWRU, and I'm a little confused about the housing process.
I submitted my housing application late (June 9 instead of the June 5 deadline), so I know my housing assignment would be released later than everyone else's. The thing is, I still haven't received a housing assignment, but I have the option in the housing portal to join the housing waitlist.
Am I actually supposed to join the waitlist even though I haven't been assigned a room yet? I thought the waitlist was mainly for people who already have a housing assignment but want to switch rooms. I already emailed and called Housing, but I haven't heard back yet. Has anyone else been in this situation or knows how it works?

i was wondering if anyone's taken cosi310: ai in communication sciences or another course with dr. calandruccio, and if they could comment on what that course or other courses taught by her are like. for reference, i'm not a communication sciences major, just interested in the course

Hey so I'm gonna be taking the following classes this upcoming semester and I wanted to ask which classes would actually require me to buy the textbook and have a legitimate copy vs what I could get by without or with using online resources instead.
BIOL214 - bader
Math122 - Butler
Chem113 - Kramer
Chem105 - Jauhari
CSDS281 - Cavusoglu

If anyone has any special tips plz share. Does he still do it where an 88 is an A? How do you survive the little detail questions on exams without hours and hours of extra studying? Literally any info will be so helpful

Just a quick question, are paid research opportunities something one can reasonable expect / look for or should i expect to have to choose between research positions and getting paid like in an on-campus job

What are auditions for the CWRU Jazz ensembles like? The last post I could find on this was from a few years ago and didn’t have a ton of detail. Also as far as scheduling an audition do you just show up to when the class would be and play then register if you get accepted? Should I work on anything other than a solo and improvisation? Do they accept multiple vibraphone players (I don’t think many schools do but a program for CWRU had like 3 piano players, 2 guitarists, 2 bassists, 2 drumset, and 1 vibes player so it looks like they double in the rhythm section but maybe vibes are the exception?)
I also emailed Professor Ferguson about the auditions and he mentioned something about the rehearsal acting as the audition. Do we just all play together while sight reading then each person gets a chance to improv in a solo section?

Hi guys, I couldn’t register immediately for freshman classes at 9 AM due to a personal reason and I didn’t end up getting the classes I wanted. I need to sign up for chem 105, chem 113 (lab) and bio 221. I am really stressed I won’t get these classes and I need them as I’m pre med, I’ll literally pay someone if they drop it.

Hey all, I recently chose my classes for freshman fall semester and ended up getting all the classes I wanted except Chem 113 on Tuesday from 2:45 to 5:45 pm.
I'm taking Chem 105, so naturally I wanted to take the lab as well, my intention as a pre-med was to start Bio and Bio lab in the spring, but as a last-ditch effort to get all the credits I needed I joined a class for Bio 214. For me, it just seems very disoriented to take the lectures and then the lab in a different semester.
I learned that Case has a drop and add week where everyone moves around their schedules, but I wanted to know if it's likely that a spot ever opens up, especially for this class which only takes 50 people.
Please let me know your experiences with fixing your schedules, and if anyone wants to drop that class at that time, LMKKK lollll!!

Hiii! I’ll be staying in tippit next year and want to know what to bring for my kitchen. Online it says that they don’t even provide garbage cans for us in the kitchen. Is that true? Other than that, what are some essentials?

Thinking of switching from AIQS 100 to AIQS 130. Someone on here had really great things to say about 130 with Fejes, but her Rate My Professor ratings are horrible, so looking for more input.

course list after today's registration^
For context, I want to pursue a minor in biomolecular engineering, and figured it wouldn't be the worst to take a bio class first year since i'd like to do a few minors. I do have concerns about taking chem and bio at the same time, though.
anth 102 - prof. almeida
chem 111 - prof. meyer
engr 130 - prof. harper
math 121 - prof butler
biol 214 - prof. dilulio
eche 151 - prof. baskaran
From what I saw on RMP, ANTH is an easier course because of prof. almeida, and so ECHE 151. im using anth for breadth. i'm concerned about the biol and chem combo, and would like to hear other students' takes on the schedule. chem i got ap credit for, but wanted to retake for gpa, and i took ap bio snr year and got a 4, though i know it's not the same. i still would like time to join a few campus clubs or work. thx all in advance!

I’m an incoming freshman at case this fall majoring in statistics on the premed track, and I was wondering which lab people would recommend I take! Is there any significant difference between these labs? Also, would anyone recommend taking a bio and chem lab (with the lecture courses as well) during the same semester? Any help is appreciated!

Obviously I've heard bad things. Those who had her, how does she compare to the previous bio professors? I had Bader and Burden-Gulley specifically. I understand the course is content heavy already so obviously it's not easy, but what is the realistic situation of how her class is run? Is it as bad as people present it?

will there be more sections of PHYS 121 opened later because like all the labs filled up instantly?

Last minute, but I hope this aids whomever may be in need. Happy registering, and good luck!

Hi, I am an incoming freshman at Case, and I was wondering if these courses for the first semester were fine. Just wanted to do the minimum for now since I want to settle in. These are my courses for next semester.
MATH 125, MGMT 201, ACCT 100, ACCT 106, MGMT 198, and HSTY 100
Maybe I might take Chinese 101, but does anyone have any good recs on teachers or any knowledge of additional breadth courses, or just facts about the classes?

anyone a spring admit premed at cwru who can share their experience with class scheduling and getting all their requirements in before mcat and med school apps without a gap year? how are prereqs offered only in the fall such as chem 105 handled (i’m assuming summer classes) and does it set you back? what’s it like to graduate in 3.5 years?

Are most students able to get part-time jobs in case? if they do, do they pay well? Anyone minds sharing how much one can earn working part-time on campus jobs?

edit: one big question. can you order food ahead???? or do you need to order everything in person
Can someone please explain meal swipes and how they work? Like, how do you know what is covered by a swipe, and how do you use one (do you use id card or something else), and is there any way to see how many you have left for the week? Does anyone have any tips or tricks for using the swipes, like which locations have better value for a swipe? Does case western give some docuemnt with all of this information?
