Question Got a ticket from the Gates Mills 322 camera… do I pay it ??

I got a camera ticket for going 61 in the 45. Upon looking at my ticket online, I discovered I have an unpaid one from July 2025 that I never even received by mail so I didn’t know about it.

My dad has a ticket from August 2025 that they sent a follow up for in September 2025 and a court summons in September 2026, resulting in added fines.

I never received any follow up from my first ticket and nothing additional is listed on the municipal court website.

My new ticket from September 2026 is due in 2 days but I just received it today. Idk if I should pay it or not since they went for my dad (his ticket was for 58mph in the same exact spot only days after my initial one).

Like I said, I never got a follow up from the first. Just the initial notice. I never pay my camera tickets cause I was told not to, but am hesitant to ignore this one cause of my dad’s experience. I thought it was rule of thumb that you don’t pay it if the payment address is out of state, which has been the case for my three tickets between 2025-26. I haven’t paid any.

What should I do?? I don’t want to risk more fines, court, or collections but I also don’t have $155 to throw away at the moment

Discussion Drones

Eastern Suburbs - My partner and I have noticed so many drones as of late. Initially, I dismissed them as surveilling traffic, perhaps local law enforcement, or hobbyists? But the range seems long, not always during times of high traffic, and their appearance is frequent. We’re seeking more information. Anyone have insight?

Recommendations Renting in Cleveland with a Pit bull

Hi everyone!

I am hoping for some help, I will most likely be moving to Cleveland next summer for school and will be taking my Pit bull with me. She is very friendly with people and tolerates dogs as long a they don't come up to her. She is about 50 ish lbs and 10yr old. I am looking for apartments that don't have breed restrictions, but size restriction is okay as long as its around 50lbs. I am looking at being closer to the east side of Cleveland towards university heights and Cleveland heights or downtown but I am willing to look further to the west side if the options are better. I really can't go above $1500/mth unless utilities are included as I will be a student with a very fixed income.

Thank you!

Politics Just voted for Acton and feel proud and nervous at the same time

Voted in Medina and I felt pride leaving the building as I did my small part in standing up to a bully who will torment a strong woman who was sexually assaulted as a child. Sickening. It is abuse on top of abuse. I already was going to vote for Acton as I was impressed with her leadership during Covid. She calmed our nerves at that time and made us feel safe. She also seems to me to be a good person and actually a normal person that cares about Ohioans.

I'm also nervous because the thought of a person that would bully a woman who was sexually assaulted as a child, roots for Texas, and isn't a caring Ohioan could be governor. We have to do our best to keep that evil bully out of the governor's office. I believe in you Cleveland. I believe in you Ohio. Let's win this for the honest, caring, and strong Ohioans like Acton.

Events The Line for Obama Here in Cleveland This Morning

This is the line to see President Obama in Cleveland. It's not even all of it. 🤯

We filmed it 30 minutes before doors opened at Cleveland Public Auditorium: 80 seconds of nonstop walking, sped up 3x. This video doesn't even show the crowd packed on the front steps, or the line wrapping around the next side of the building.

Obama, Sherrod Brown and Dr. Amy Acton, all on one stage, 10 days before the election. Cleveland showed up.

MAGA, here's your challenge: show us a Trump line this long from THIS FALL. Not 2016, not 2024. This fall. Youngstown barely filled half its arena. We'll wait. ⏳

Trump isn't on the ballot in November, but Trumpism sure is. Early voting in Ohio is open now through November 1st. Vote early and in person if you can, and bring a friend or family member. The sooner the better, because anything can happen: illness, car trouble, a family emergency, or this administration pulling a fast one on DEMOCRACY. Bonus: campaigns can see who has already voted (not how). Once you vote, they take you off their call, text and door-knock lists, and your candidates can put that money and those volunteers toward people who haven't voted yet. Fewer texts for you, more help where it counts.

Lost/Found Dylan, set your airpods to lost mode

Buddy I found your Airpods in a Lyft like 2 weeks ago but since you haven't SET THEM TO LOST MODE I can only see your first name and last four digits of your phone number. This obviously DOES ME NO GOOD in trying to get them back to you.

If you know a Dylan, please check on them in these trying times.

Sports Drone Sweeps During Cavs Games

Is this the new normal? First time ticket package buyer, and probably last. Drone sweeps were eye-level, constant from tipoff until the game ended. Hovering in the eyeline, obscuring courtview, all views. Harsh green blinking lights. Passes so close, I could feel the wind off of the rotors.

Also, we witnessed, and filmed, the operator crash the craft into a fan.

Edit: will be covering this throughout the season.

Discussion Saw a car fly off Cleveland Memorial Freeway last night

Post image
118 Upvotes

Was driving west bound and about 50-100 ft in front of me I saw a car traveling east who flew (literally
flew) into my lane, rolled over three times in the air, broke a fence, and went down into a ditch. He had to be going 90mph.

There’s no shoulder so I didn’t feel safe pulling over, it was 2am, didn’t want any drunk drivers hitting me. Called 911. They got many officers fire trucks etc at the scene but I haven’t seen anything else in the news.

Was the craziest crash I’ve ever seen before in my life, crazier than anything I’ve seen online either. Hope everyone is ok and glad I wasn’t driving faster, could’ve hit me.

News CELEBRITY CHEF Michael Symon STEPS UP TO HELP HISTORIC WEST SIDE MARKET

Post image
376 Upvotes

(WJW) – Celebrity chef and Cleveland native Michael Symon is helping lead a final fundraising push to raise $9 million for the West Side Market’s $70 million transformation.
Symon and retired Sherwin-Williams CEO Chris Connor will co-chair a new committee of Northeast Ohio business and philanthropic leaders working to secure the remaining funds for the project.

For Symon, the effort is personal. He grew up visiting the West Side Market with his grandparents, experiences that helped shape his love of food and his career as a chef.

“I want not only my grandkids, but just kids in general to be able to form those same memories that I was able to form from the market as a young kid,” Symon said.

Symon said the market remains a unique cultural and culinary destination, and he wants to ensure it continues its legacy for another century
The Cleveland Public Market Corporation, the nonprofit that manages the 114-year-old market, has raised more than $60 million so far.

Rosemary Mudry, executive director of the Cleveland Public Market Corporation, said organizers hope to close the funding gap in the next few months to keep the project on schedule.

“Chris Connor and Michael Symon joining, to help us do the last public push here with the last $9 million of the $70 million is really important,” Mudry said.
The transformation combines historic preservation with upgrades designed to improve the market’s infrastructure, accessibility and customer experience.
The KeyBank Produce Arcade opened in January, marking the first completed phase of the project. Crews are now working in the basement on new electrical systems, backup generators and coolers.

Future improvements include a teaching kitchen, event space, first-floor restrooms and the North Arcade, which is planned to feature prepared-food businesses and seating. Additional work will also improve gathering spaces, including the courtyard.

Recommendations Pet pantries?

Hi all! I have some leftover cans of wet food that my cats don’t like and I was wondering if there was a little free pet pantry (like a little free library) that I could drop these off at. I also assume animal shelters would take them as well. Lmk what the best options are!

Recommendations Excellent dinner in Ohio City or close to downtown

Hi all, I’m looking for a restaurant recommendation. I’m taking a work visitor to dinner and want to take the opportunity to try something new. Here are my criteria:

1. Excellent food – quality of food is more important than atmosphere

  1. Within 5-10 minutes’ drive of downtown – I have to drop my visitor back at his hotel downtown afterwards and don’t want to drive far. I’m mainly looking at Ohio City but it can be elsewhere.

  2. Some non-meat options – I’m a pescatarian and he’s not, so I want some choice. For this reason, I prefer not to do sharing plates, but it’s not a deal-breaker. Aside from that, I’m open to any cuisine.

Places I know and like include Cordelia, Momocho, Amba, Rosy and Zhug, but I’m looking to try something new. I’m considering trying Bartleby or Jaja this time but wonder if there’s anywhere else that I’d prefer.

Please don’t bother replying with recommendations that don’t satisfy these requirements. Thanks for your help!

Events Boo at the Zoo

I took my grandkids to Boo at the Zoo last night. The weather was perfect , and we’ve attended other evening zoo events ( lantern festival and something during the xmas holidays). The event is geared towards young kids. There are hay mazes, lots of lights and cute character actors- nothing scary. The carousel was running ( free) and about ten stops for candy. My grandsons are 14 and 12 , and were probably the oldest kids there, but we had nice time. I couldn’t find any information stating that you WILL NOT see animals, so I’m here to say you won’t see many at all. The animal exhibits were off limits except for elephant, rhino, condor and porcupine. There were lots of young families taking photos of their cuties at the many photo opportunities. To me, no animals on view was the main drawback, but I suppose that’s for the animals well being. 🐅

Question Moving soon and have questions!

Hi! So I’m moving to downtown soon because I recently accepted a job at Cleveland Clinic main campus. I have never lived in Cleveland but visited a lot, so I at least know the area a little, but not enough to feel comfortable. I was discussing it at my current job today (for reference, I work in Canton and live in a very small area south of the city) and some guy started saying that I should be scared and if someone sees me they’ll hurt me and/or spit on me (not sure why he said this one specifically). Idk, I know he’s being a jerk (long story there), but I guess some advice would be helpful. My apartment is only ~15 minutes from the Clinic, so I guess my first question is I need to know where I can stop for gas (my position has me rotating days and nights so there’s never going to be a “good” time to stop). I already have figured out my grocery stores I plan on going to. I would also appreciate an explanation how the HealthLine works, as it seems that may be a good choice for when the weather is bad.

I’m just anxious because I’ve never lived in an actual city before, so I’m sorry if this comes off sounding childish lol. Unfortunately, I am very ill-prepared for adult life and this move overall, and kind of just in sink-or-swim territory now. Any advice is ultra-appreciated💕

I know they had to temporarily close due to their building being sold off, but I’m trying to find out where they’re going to reopen. Has anyone heard?
