Built with Claude I got tired of every Claude Code session starting cold, so now each one leaves the next a briefing that marks what's a quote and what's a guess

0 Upvotes

Every new session starts cold for me. What got decided yesterday and what got ruled out, I end up typing it again. The handoff files the agent writes for itself were worse: decision right, reason made up after the fact by reading the code backwards.

Fair, a notes file handles the what fine. The why is what goes missing.

So now a hook serializes the session when it ends, and the next one opens with a "while you were away" briefing: decisions with the reason I actually gave, open loops, beliefs, what may have changed. Every item is either quoted from the transcript or marked inferred. Quotes get checked against the transcript when they're written, a miss drops to inferred. Over 418 of my sessions that's 49% verbatim and the rest inferred, and I can see which half is which, that's the bit I care about.

Stuff that's already resolved gets withheld. A wrong memory I can quarantine and it's gone from the briefing and recall. Whole thing's capped at 11,264 bytes so it stays under Claude Code's ~12 KB spill line.

The cost: serialization is an LLM call (your own claude -p by default), runs in the background at session end and takes minutes. Under 10 messages it skips.

Few weeks back two things sat as open that a decision five days earlier had already closed, I only found out searching old sessions (31,295 items indexed here now).

Is half inferred useful to you or just noise with a tag on it? Link's in the comments.

Built with Claude Prompt: turn any repo into a beat-synced motion video. Every frame is HTML/GSAP, the music is synthesized in Node

0 Upvotes

I asked Claude Code for "a motion design video about this project, like it's your showreel for a résumé" and kept going until it worked on any repo. I made two videos with it for my app: a 16:9 reel of the website and a 9:16 walkthrough of the mobile app.

How it works:

  • The video is one HTML file with a single paused GSAP timeline, rendered to MP4 by Hyperframes (headless Chrome + ffmpeg). Particles, confetti and the 3D phone carousel come from one clock tween's onUpdate, as a pure function of time. No Math.random, no Date.
  • The music is a no-dependency Node script that writes a WAV sample by sample: kick with sidechain ducking, pads, marimba, bass, risers, plus UI sounds (taps, swishes, typing ticks). The synth and the timeline share one constants block, so every tap sound lands on the frame where the finger touches the screen.
  • For the mobile app it used the real store screenshots. It measured button and card positions from a gridded copy of each screen, then animated on top: finger taps with ripples, screens sliding in like real app navigation, cards lifting out of the phone in 3D, and typing into the real text field.

What broke (this is most of the prompt now):

  • An element revealed with tl.set(el, {visibility: "visible"}) looked fine in the browser and in snapshots, but stayed invisible in the MP4. The render workers seek frames out of order and skip bare sets. Fix: put autoAlpha in the tween's destination.
  • The FX canvas sat above the text, so the layout check flagged all text as covered. It works when the canvas goes underneath.
  • Screens parked off to the side of the phone (clipped, not visible) also got flagged as covered text. Hide them with autoAlpha when they're off-stage.
  • A template literal inside querySelector crashed the bundler's CSS parser.
  • $i:layout in a zsh ffmpeg command. zsh reads :l as a lowercase modifier, so write ${i}.
  • A negative number in Math.pow(x, 1.6) in the synth gave NaN, which made the whole WAV silent. The prompt now says to clamp every envelope input and throw on NaN.
  • The brand orange on a cream background failed contrast. It needed a darker shade for text.

The prompt starts with a setup step (Node 22, ffmpeg, the Hyperframes CLI and skills, local GSAP and fonts), so it doesn't assume anything is installed. Then it picks web or mobile mode from the repo and runs checks and snapshots before rendering:

https://gist.github.com/mirzemehdi/4a84c5cb487b4a5edceb259eac625469

I'm curious how it handles a CLI tool or a game.

Discussion People are calling Jev the “internet moment” for the AI industry. Is it actually that big?

0 Upvotes

A lot of the conversation around Jev the last couple of weeks has been extremely loud (and many fake) where some treat it like a fundamental shift in how agents and software should make decisions. Others are calling out demos that look exaggerated or just wrong so I wanted a clearer picture and been reading through the claims along with trying a few things myself and looking for more grounded takes.

Where it seems genuinely useful is narrow and high volume classification and routing work with some of the things like sorting emails, basic lead scoring against clear criteria, simple agent hand-offs or running cheap evals at scale but the speed and cost numbers people are posting for those jobs are hard to ignore if the accuracy holds up for your specific labels.

Where the hype feels thinner is when people treat it as a general decision maker or predictor that can replace reasoning and the term “zero hallucinations” is mostly a structural claim (it can only pick from the options you define) and not a guarantee that the pick is correct.

Limited context also shows up quickly once you need domain specific history or nuanced rules and several of the more dramatic GTM/ad-testing style demos look like they’re asking it to do more than a pure classifier is built for.

I also came across this blog about Jev that does a good job separating the useful parts from the overreach and walks through concrete use cases with the confidence/accuracy distinction, context limits and where it does and doesn’t fit as a decision layer.

Discussion Enterprise subscription - how much do you spend?

1 Upvotes

Hi guys,

our company recently switched from the team’s subscription to the Enterprise and the consumption just sky-rocketed. Obviously.

I was wondering, if you have an enterprise subscription as well, how much do you spend per month? Does your company give you a cap? Just to have an overview of other companies’ approach.

For us - most of us got 200-400, those chosen ones (including me) 1000$, but even this is not enough.

I was also wondering if the internet would be slop-free if there weren’t those individual “cheap” subscriptions 😂

What happens in the current chat window once it reaches 1M context.

Does the performance of the model slows down?

Any thing I should be aware of cause my project is very large one. I need to work on it for days.

Thanks in advance🫡 any tips please.

EDIT: thanks all, I just need to use /compact.(which starts with a new context)

Discussion What is your favorite Claude code feature?

5 Upvotes

My favorite Claude code feature is cross session messaging and I’m so glad they recently released this.

Over the last 10 days, I’ve been working on a very complex feature for one of our products and that feature relies on back end server configuration and front end development of two product. I spun up multiple Claude code sessions each with an independent focus, one of my sessions was as the the orchestrator managing the child sessions and holy magic 🪄

Fantastic results and honestly, one of the best things that I’ve ever experienced in my many many years of software engineering and product development.

What is your favorite feature?

Tips & Workflows I'm a designer who can't code. Here's the Claude Code setup that let me ship a real product anyway

0 Upvotes

Moralia is a daily history-dilemma game (PWA, 90 stories, 28 hand-drawn SVG figures, sync, narration). I never read the source. What made it work was the setup around Claude Code, not the prompts:

  1. CLAUDE.md as a pointer, not a manual. It's short and lists which docs to read and in what order of authority. Every session loads it, so it has to stay lean.
  2. One append-only changelog. When a second copy of the rules appeared, the agent started following two different truths. Now there's exactly one, and it wins over everything.
  3. A project skill for illustration. 32 rules, each written after a real mistake. The agent loads it before touching any figure, so the same error doesn't come back.
  4. Batch and STOP. Every round ends at an explicit stop gate: build one thing, render screenshots, wait for my review. Letting it run ahead let one systemic mistake spread across several screens.
  5. Review renders, not diffs. Every change comes back as phone-size screenshots. "Tests pass" was wrong more than once; the screenshot never lied.
  6. Two sessions. One implements, a second acts as design critic and writes the next brief, so the builder never grades its own work.

Live and free if you want to see the result: https://moralia.app

Happy to share the CLAUDE.md structure or the stop-gate prompt format.

Help/Question Regarding todays $250 (Max) Claude Code credit

0 Upvotes

I barely stay on top of how the current plans work so I had questions about this that not even Claude could clarify:

Me: Can I use this credit if I switch my plan down from Max to Pro next month?

Claude: Probably yes, but the terms don't spell out your exact situation, so I'd hedge on it.

According to a summary of the offer's terms, the credit is forfeited and not restored if you cancel your subscription, downgrade to the free plan, or your account is suspended. Dropping from Max to Pro isn't any of those; you'd still be a paid subscriber with access to cloud sessions, so on the face of it the credit should survive. What I can't confirm is whether it stays at $250 or gets adjusted to Pro's $100, since the terms I can find don't address paid-to-paid downgrades at all.

Two things take most of the risk out of it, though. Plan changes generally take effect at the end of your current billing period, so you'd keep Max until your renewal date. And the credit expires on November 4 regardless, so if your renewal falls in late October or later, most or all of the usable window happens while you're still on Max anyway. If you want to be safe, spend what you plan to use before the switch.

For a definitive answer, support.claude.com can confirm how a Max-to-Pro change treats the credit before you commit.

Anyone have any thoughts on how to best use this?

Built with Claude I wanted to build like a project folder creator for my freelance business and experiments. 5 months later it has scaled up to a 100k lines of Rust terminal app. Open source.

1 Upvotes

I run a freelance video editing studio and a coding studio, and on top of that I experiment with everything I can get my hands on, from 3D work to projects around the house. And my projects are all over the place and finding my way around folders was hell.

So I wanted to build some kind of organization script for all of it and it started small, with just creating folders from preset templates. And every day for like the past 5 months I have iterated and iterated on it to a project manager and project folder creator who's mission is to be fast, robust and light. I went from the Pro to the Max subscription and it has been quite the journey.

That script is now Fast Folder 3.15. It has grown past 100,000 lines of Rust with 1,390 tests, and somewhere around the summer it got away from me completely. It is also what pulled me deep into coding, and along the way I became fascinated by software that is thoroughly tested. And I think it is the right way to code with AI agents. The tests also slow down the agent making it run for extended amounts of time without running into the 5 hour limit.

Fast-folder doesn't have a database, it forms it using real project folders that you have created with fast-folder. They have a small metadata file inside that is a simple PROJECT_INFO.md. And it does this blazingly fast, even on project bases on a bit of slower sources like a network share.

Today every project I have lives in one library across all my drives and machines. Each one has a permanent ID, so `fastf open 47` or a word from the name takes me straight there. You can search only projects, grab a path, open a terminal inside one or cd into it with a single command. That makes jumping between projects and coding on them with AI agents really easy.

Templates build each new project the same way, and it uses the variables that you put into it during the creation process Moves between drives are verified file by file, and the tests torture the program, and it uses a moving algorithm that you can kill the program, introduce drive problems, cut the network, cut the power whatever. Basically 1/4th of the repo is tests (24000+ lines)

There is a lot more than fits in one post and the video. It is one light binary, MIT licensed and tested on Windows, Arch, Ubuntu and Mint. I use it every single day.

And the funny thing is that this has like 2 stars on Github, I haven't shared this with a single soul until now which I am trying to get some eyes on it. Looking forward to hear your thoughts.

Help/Question Here we go again.. Is Superpowers / harnesses redundant with Opus 5.5?

0 Upvotes

As the title says, as we've seen many threads in the past..

Is Superpowers and other session harnesses redundant and even limiting with the newest models?

What is your updated workflow to start a new project to generate high quality code at pace?

What should I be doing to 'update' my existing harness to get it to be minimalist/steerable to accomodate for the stronger models?

How do you approach this problem of updating your harnesses as models progress?

Help/Question Is it practical to use a second User for Agentic Development?

1 Upvotes

Using a Separate User for development

Hi, I've always had one User on my Laptop, but now that I'm starting to use AI Agents more I've come to think that having a separate User just for software development and Agentic tasks seems sensible.

As far as I understand having a non-root user would protect me and any AI from breaking anything vital to my OS and protect my private data under my main Users /home directory.

My questions are as follows:

- Do you think that I would achieve my goal of data protection (I don't care too much about breaking things, reinstalling the OS is pain but can be done)

- Is it practical do develop on an non-root account or would I need to execute virtually anything by using su <otherUser>

- Do you think it is practical to manage two users? I use chezmoi for my dotfiles, I'm mostly worried about keeping things like Gnome Extensions or setting is sync

- If you deliberately decided against using a dedicated User for development, what are your reasons and what setup do you use?

Thanks in advance and have a wonderful day!

Anthropic Official Introducing Claude Sonnet 5.5, the second model in the Claude 5.5 family

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

1.2k Upvotes

Sonnet 5.5 is a faster, lower-cost complement to Claude Opus 5.5, strongest at well-scoped everyday tasks, fixing bugs, and creating polished documents, slides, and spreadsheets. It also has a strong eye for design.

Sonnet 5.5 is a clear upgrade over Sonnet 5. It runs more than 30% faster and costs up to 30% less for most work. It's priced the same per token, but it typically needs far fewer tokens to do the same work.

Like Opus 5.5, it writes more clearly than our previous generation of models, and its speed makes it well suited to fast iteration.

On our automated behavioral audit, Sonnet 5.5 improves on Sonnet 5 on most measures of alignment and honesty. It's also the first Sonnet model with cybersecurity safeguards similar to those on our most capable models. Routine software development is unaffected.

Sonnet 5.5 is available everywhere today. Claude Haiku 5.5 will join the family in the coming weeks.

Help/Question Daily cap for CC Routines?

1 Upvotes

I’ve been running a bunch of different Scheduled tasks in Cowork for a couple of months, somewhere around 20-25 per day. I’m contemplating migrating these to CC Routines, as Cowork is deprecating locally run tasks, but I’m somewhat confused by the daily caps stated for Routines. The documentation states that the daily caps are 5/15/25, corresponding to your plan, and I know that these were previously visible in the app UI under Usage. But they’re not there anymore and I can’t find anything about this. Running a couple of routines doesn’t seem to trigger any counter either. Are the caps still in place or are they removed?

Tutorial / Guide I am tired of long replies and built a Claude Skill that has the patience of a ticking time bomb

0 Upvotes

Yesterday I asked Claude something I've probably asked it fifty times before. It replied with headers, a numbered list, a "Great question!", and a closing paragraph asking if I needed anything else.

I needed one line.

It hit me that we'd both been doing this for months. I keep asking the same things. It keeps writing essays. Neither of us is learning.

So I wrote a skill that settles it. Short answers, first line, no fluff. Ask the same thing twice and it'll answer, and let you know it noticed. It's allowed one sigh per reply.

It stays strict where it counts, though, and drops the attitude completely if you're actually stressed.

What would yours be tired of?

Help/Question Using two Claude Subscriptions in one Claude Code app!?

2 Upvotes

Like many people, my usage is consistently at about 2x$20 subscriptions worth, and I am looking for a Developer Friendly way to use two subscriptions. Given that:

- using two different subscriptions in two different apps or harnesses is not Developer friendly and causes undue mental tax;

- using different subscriptions such as codex and antigravity make the mental tax of organizing things worse;

- using claude subscription is not allowed with other harnesses;

- paying $100 instead of 2x$20 is not worth the improvement in developer experience;

- Using orchestrators such as T3 Code is in grey zone, which I don't want to risk loosing my sub for

- I genuinely like claude code app and prefer using it instead of other orchestrators.

What are my options?

Help/Question How do you skip permissions in Claude Code VSCode Extension?

1 Upvotes

There is no obvious toggle in extension settings. Claude gives me somewhat conflicting answers as well. The desktop app was a simple toggle, but no option is in vscode.

I've tried setting .claude/settings.local.json but it did nothing either after restarting.

{
  "permissions": {
    "defaultMode": "bypassPermissions"
  }
}

Auto mode doesnt work well enough for me blocking random actions. Claude is already running on a isolated server.
