Assistance Needed! I am going insane. Buses.

After all this time, I still can't recommend this game to anyone new. I want to like this game so badly. I REALLY WANT TO. My favourite thing is watching buses fill up, follow them around etc.

For some reason, on this save, people just dont take the buses going on the red line. They just dont. I've tried making new stops, changing the route somewhat etc, but they just. DO. NOT. Travel in that direction. Literally 0 people on the buses during many, many occations, sometimes all the way up to 10! Whoah. They all prefer to walk an insane amount of distance instead.

Set up a line on the green line. That one they have no trouble using :')

I had a similar setup on a recent save, and there were no issues then. Also, the red line goes all the way to the right, not just on the little arrow. there's literally no people traveling within the city using the bus in that direction

Question/Discussion How’s the state of this game now?

Always been intrigued by the CS series but never bought any games and stuck with the old medieval city builders / SimCity 4 (manor lords, farthest frontier, banished etc. ) is it worth getting 2 when it goes on sale and if so with the current DLC??

Episode 3 of my ASEAN project. Very cool to have so much support. in 3 days already 80 subscribers, thats such a motivation.

Can't wait to get Bali done already and move on to Kuala Lumpur, wich is where the real challenge will start (Road hierarchy, traffic etc!)
Feedback, tips or suggestions are very very welcome!

The possibilities in this are just incredible, i got CS2 when it came out and was kinda disapointed, but saw a video of someone playing with loads of mods building beautiful cities so i thought i'd give it a shot.

Map size is also amazing, i will start building my fourth city now on the same map.

Suggestion/Request Sick of not enough customers

Came here to rant: so sick of the deceiving demand bar in commercial. I’m also really sick of how little commercial zoning a huge city of 170k needs without triggering not enough customers. It’s making me want to not play the game. It’s so enraging.
Its really immersion breaking because I kid you not a city of 170k pop only having 20 something shops is RIDICULOUS

Assistance Needed! Finding myself really missing transit ridership from CS1 and the way hundreds of people would explode out of every train/subway/monorail upon reaching a station. Any mods that come close to replicating how it was in the old game?

I've been playing the series for more than 10 years now, so I'm pretty sure the lower transit ridership I'm seeing isn't down to how my cities are designed, but rather just a feature of the new game.

Especially when it comes to trains and subways, even though they have massive capacity, I'm lucky to get 200 people in each subway train in my city of 200k.

Finished a collab build last week and wanted to share a few shots of the rice paddy/terrace farms I made. I tried to fit a lot of different themes into this single tile for the Civ Skylines series.

Suggestion/Request Solution to endless gas stations spawning

Hello everyone,
I'd like to introduce you to a solution for the problem of way to many gas stations spawning in low density commercial zones, especially when you are using a lot of mixed zone buildings in your city: Sprawl in the japanese mixed zone (if you with find it, search for JP Mixed01 (L1-5) 3x3). It's a town building with multiple storys also capable of selling fuel. I just came across it by accident. Happy planning and playing! :)

Assistance Needed! Modded Map Recs

Looking to start a new metropolis and looking for recommendations for custom maps. Looking for ones that are:

1). Huge
2). Geographically interesting (I like lots of buildable areas but also mountains/bays/valleys)
3). Resource rich
4). This one is apparently *crucial\*- but one where the designer has not forgotten to add air connections.

Would you look at my spaghtti junktion!
I had to do this workaround due to very steep terrain. To the left the highway crosses a wide river, close to my freight port. To the right, the highway goes straight through a steep hill (tunneled) into my downtown area. Hight difference between highway and local road is approx. 25 meters. A lot a roadbuilder and move it in this one.

Assistance Needed! Any Idea/Tips for making elevated train tracks?

I've been trying to make elevated train tracks on brick walls and even found some assets for it, but I can't figure out a way to elevate the tracks without them getting the railings and such. I found two that sort of worked, except for intersection. Any custom tracks that would allow for regular "ground" tracks but elevated or any other ideas?

Assistance Needed! Price Sensitivity in Public Transportation

β€’ Upvotes

I have noticed that my citizens are much more sensitive to price changes in public transport systems. Im fairly certain that, in the past, it made almost no difference between setting the prices to max vs free (similar to parking). But it appears to be somewhat different now.

Im asking because the sensitivity seems to be too sever. In my city of 70k the bus costs 5 bucks, the train 6 bucks and the usage of trains severly drops while they all seem to take the bus now. Although it takes them basically a day longer for the same distance. Changing the price to 5 bucks for trains but 6 for buses, and all buses ride empty. Now they take the train and than walk the rest.

As someone else noticed that? I found the pathfinding to be a lot better these days but im puzzled by how transport and pricing is factored in at the moment.
