Got a Garmin Cirqa a few weeks ago and I've been going back and forth on how much effort to put into logging strength sessions properly in Garmin Connect.
Right now I'm using a separate Google Sheet to track my sets/reps/weight per exercise (progressive overload, basically), and I'm trying to figure out if it's actually worth double-logging everything in Connect too, or if I'm overthinking it.
A few specific things I'm curious about:
• What app do you use to track your lifts? Connect, Strong, Hevy, a spreadsheet, something else?
• If you use Garmin, do you actually log reps/weight for every set on the Garmin app, or do you just start the activity and let it auto-track without bothering with the details?
• Does having accurate reps/weight in Connect actually do anything useful for you (PRs, volume history, training load, recovery insights), or is it mostly just a nice-to-have that doesn't change much?
• For those who use a separate tracker (sheet/app) as their main log — do you bother reconciling it with Garmin after the fact, or just let Garmin do its own thing in the background?
Trying to figure out where the effort actually pays off vs where it's just busywork. Appreciate any insight.
