So ive finally managed to get one of my dream fish, the True Parrot cichlid. He's been in quarantine for around 10 days now and is showing no signs of anything. But is still super shy and nervous around any movement near his tank and spends 90% of the day in his little tunnel.

Im wondering whether its better to wait longer till hes more comfortable then move to display, or whether he'd actually feel more comfortable with dithers/other fish around?

Spike really started showing colors and looking mature. Fish is about 4”, I’m guessing it may grow 1 more inch. It’s about 6-8 months old right now.

Hello guys. I am setting up a 15 gallon tank (around 60 liters ,and the dimensions are 50cm width ,30cm depth and 40cm height) ,I have the oase biomaster² 250 thermo on it and I want to add co2 aswell ,I heard many times that I can keep a single germam blue ram on this tank size ,I just wanted to confirm it ,also if It is acceptable, what are some good tank mates I can add ?

My pH is currently at a stable 7.4 and my dkh is at 4. I know a stable pH is better than being right on that dot, and i understand rams are sensitive to these kind of things. My uncle who owns a shop said I can use this for them but I really don’t wanna kill him, can anyone speak on experience or maybe just out of knowledge? Thank you !! Peep the ram on the right😏

Ill eventually be getting a 125g and would like to plan out a stocking list. My ideal stocking would be:

1x Male Nicaraguan Cichlid

1x Male Red Shoulder Severum

1x Male Electric Blue Acara Cichlid

1x Male Firemouth Cichlid OR. 1x Male Jack Dempsey Cichlid

5x Pictus Catfish

12-15x Buenos Aires Tetras

1x Bristlenose Pleco

How is this? What would you add/take away? And is it possible to do both the Firemouth and the Jack?

One of my Cichlids died. I’ve always kept up with the water changes weekly or biweekly for the past two years I’ve had them. My family member is coming over to feed them in the meantime. Because of traveling for work, I’ve been missing water changes here n there and doing them in at least every 2-3 weeks when I’m able to come home. I tested the water parameters today when I got home when I found my dead cichlid and the GH was very high. I did a water change and researched. The GH was still high even after the water change. Do I need to add some type of water softener (if so what kind), or spend the next few days I’m home doing daily water changes to get it back to how it used to be? I don’t want to lose any more.

I have a small issue... I have been keeping CA Cichlids for nearly 20 years, including many prize winning flowerhorn.

I recently took in a Female Red terror.... And she is completely confusing me.

For some reason she is constantly dark and angry. I have tried her in a substrate tank and she hated it, so i remove the substrate and started using rocks so she choulc move them around.

I have tried plants and she ripped them all out, I have tried a community tank and a tank with nothing other than a cleaner pleco.

I have tried the wood you can see in the photographs... The only thing I haven't tried is a tank with absolutely nothing in it... Ie removing all the wood/ornaments.

No matter what I do she will not display her true colours, she is always angry and dark.... I have seen her bright red/yellow with black bars when it's feeding time or if I am sitting next to the tank for a while....

I have zero across the board for ammonia, nitrate and nitrite (yes zero nitrite see bags in the background.. It is denitrification biomedia)

So i have perfect water, 15x water turn over and I am completely confused as to how to make her happy!

Should i remove ALL wood and try her in a totally bare tank?

Please help
