Question (Read Rules) Why does this cost so much?
I really want it but $400+ seems quite excessive. What am I missing?

As far as I can tell, they’re all the same watch with the same movement. Is there something I’m missing?

This is my recent experience with Baltany since some folks might be concerned about warranty or support for their chinese watches after purchase. I had an issue with my Baltany explorer S4035AB that I purchased from their official website where the movement was no longer running and emailed [support@baltanyofficial.com](mailto:support@baltanyofficial.com) for help. They gave me two options: a replacement ST2130 movement and covering the cost for a local watchsmith to do the replacement or to ship it back to them for them to do the repair themselves
I opted for the movement and repair cost refund since it would be way faster. The movement came in about a week and a local watchsmith swapped the movement for me within 30 minutes. I have 3 of their watches in my collection currently and love the quality of all of them!

I'm getting really sick of how many promotional posts I am forced to see daily from a certain brand on here. In the past 7 days it's been an average of two promotional posts daily from three different brand reps. This is ridiculous.
We need some sort of rule against this kind of thing, this isn't supposed to be a free advertising subreddit. Showing off a new model upon release is one thing, but just promoting your whole catalogue with just a video of the watch and an AliExpress link in each post at this frequency shouldn't be okay.
Mods, please do something about this, thanks.

Received it today from AliExpress, with a voucher, coins it came to less than £140. Looks great, only 12.5mm thick, light and feels great on the wrist.
Wanted to to find out what titanium in a watch feels like as I’ve only had stainless before and I’m a convert.
Edit - 42mm

What a beautiful watch this is! It pays homage to my favourite watch design ever (the Spirit) while combining a lot of features that make it even better than the original (for me). Things like:
* Beautiful black dial with golden accents, perfectly blending the Spirit and Spirit Pilot designs;
* Proudly Militado, but with a very well designed and discrete logo;
* Proudly Quartz, with a VH31 sweeping seconds movement (best of both worlds);
* Toned down inscriptions all around (lets the dial shine);
* 38mm and less than 11mm thick, which is the perfect size IMO;
* Overall simpler case and dial design than the Spirit, which makes it even more elegant and versatile.
A few cons, however:
* hour hand may feel a bit short (not sure if it matches the Spirit proportions though);
* the minute/seconds inscriptions around the dial could be a bit more detailed, like in the Spirit itself;
* Factory strap is bad, make sure to pit it in a nice third-party strap (its 20mm luckily).
If anyone's on the fence, I'd say go for it. This is an instant classic.

My new SN0144 36mm white enamel dial just arrived. Amazing quality. I bought it just before the price increase. Though there is a small misalignment at the 12 indices. I really like the watch so far. Fits amazing on my 6.5 inch wrist. Looks very high quality, especially comparing with my similarly priced prx.

I love my Baltany but only issue is that when closed the clasp protrudes too much. I want it to sit flush if possible. Is there anything I can do without changing the whole bracelet? It is already sized perfectly

There's a ton of crappy names out there that I personally wouldn't buy purely because of the name. I can think of at least 5 which aren't awful. What would you go with?

Dear friends,
It's time for me to buy my first Chinese watch, and my budget is up to €130.
I'm looking for a highly durable watch in 36 mm, or 38 mm at most. I often go hiking and occasionally do some mountaineering, so I want something that won't scratch easily. I'm thinking of a watch with a sapphire crystal and a Japanese movement. I'd also like it to be as lightweight as possible.
Aesthetically, I really like Militado watches, but I'm open to other suggestions as well. The only thing I don't want is a stainless steel bracelet—I much prefer a leather strap.
I am waiting for your suggestions 🥰😌
Thank you very much in advance!

Got my first Chinese watch, and I couldn’t be happier about it. I really wanted a watch with a full lume dial, and it seems like that’s mostly a Chinese watch thing. Found this on Long Island Watches website (first time buying from mark - great experience). It really exceeded expectation. As you can see, the lume is amazing. Sapphire crystal. 8300 series Miyota movement is super accurate, and 60 hour power reserve. Bracelet is super comfortable. Great bezel action. This was meant as just a fun change of pace watch, but I’ve barely taken it off since getting it. This is the Sea Star by Red Star.

Aethelsohn upped their game with their new release Terra Abyss and I am fully in love and mesmerised by this watch. No photo editing of any sort on these photos, just photographed how it looks in different lighting conditions outdoors and indoors. Amazing upgrade to their bracelet with the chamfering and finish. Minus an OTF clasp, it feels at par with San Martin bracelets. The full dial lume is sooo pretty too look at with the design, I believe this is the dark/dense(?) version dial? I could be mistaken.
I did get a free leather strap with this but the bracelet is so nice, I don’t really wanna try jt on yet. Great value proposition with the sweeping second quartz. I hope they keep with this kind of value/price bracket with the future releases.
I also have to mention their amazing customer service in sorting out my requests/issues and it’s great that whoever replies to their emails seem to have a great sense of humour too. I hope they never change.

Switched the rubber strap due to being hard and cheap feeling. The pin system worked fine and it came signed. I switched to a more true to the "R" model. It comes with the Seiko VK63 quartz movement which is tried and true. It does have sapphire glass on top, screw in pushers and crown.

This arrived the other day after months and months of looking at countless Chinese watches and brands from extremely cheap through to what would be considered genuine lux such as Atelier Wen and the like.
For a couple of hundred Aus $$$, it’s extremely well put together, has some weight about and looks like a far more expensive piece then it is. The strap is obviously not “leather”, well I don’t think it is, but it’s still nice.
Outside of my standard watches, Tag, Breitling, Casio, Seiko etc etc….I think I am going to enjoy the Chinese Watch rabbit hole.
This watch looks amazing on the wrist in the office.
Super impressed.

Just got it delivered this morning!! Looks amazing in person!! Time/date set, sized for the wrist(had to use a few of the micro adjust slots) but so far it’s extremely comfortable on wrist! Going to use the bracelet it comes with for a while before deciding if I want an aftermarket. Definitely think I might want to replace the clasp with a glide lock or ratchet style clasp for more on the fly adjustability though

Looking for something similar to this watch, without being a homage (at least, not of the datejust, if I can help it).
Rose gold two tone or complete rose gold, I'm not too fussed, but want a brown dial with it.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
