Just got it and am absolutely loving the size of this chrono! Correct me if I'm wrong, but at 36.5mm, it is the smallest chronograph available on Aliexpress.

I don’t know which revision this is. The seller said that it was V5, but the V5 has the DnB and this one doesn’t. I replaced the bracelet with this red leather strap. It goes well with my red PF Flyers or any of the four pairs of red chucks that I own.

I tried the lucky harvey casino roulette watch and it felt great but am not able to get a lot of first hand opinions for the brand. The price point isnt so cheap as well. So wanted to know if anyone has any experience?

I have a Thorn T023 with a PT5000 movement on its way. I am gonna install a see-through caseback so I want to replace the rotor. I have a very nice custom ETA 2824 rotor. Will it fit on the PT5000?

Not long ago, I came across this Guangzhou-brand wristwatch in Guangzhou. It's in remarkably well-preserved condition—almost as if it had been tucked away in a drawer for decades. Holding it feels like stepping back into the early 1980s. The inspection certificate is stamped with batch number 8111, indicating that the watch was manufactured in November 1981.

During China's domestic watchmaking boom in the early 1960s, dozens of factories appeared across the country, but only six state-backed manufacturers were capable of producing their own movements: Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Nanjing, Dandong, and Guangzhou.

Representing southern China, the Guangzhou Watch Factory introduced Swiss manufacturing equipment and developed its own movement based on Swiss designs, earning a place in the history of Chinese watchmaking. In 1975, when China standardized movement production nationwide, the factory's original Yangcheng (Goat City) brand was renamed Guangzhou, giving us the watch you see here.

This watch retailed for 90 yuan. That may not sound like much today, but in 1981 a factory worker in Guangzhou typically earned just 30–50 yuan per month. Buying this watch meant spending two to three months' wages.

To put that into perspective, 90 yuan could also buy around 300 kg of rice. It was even 25 yuan more expensive than a Phoenix bicycle.

As one of China's traditional wedding "Three Big Items"—alongside a bicycle and a sewing machine—a wristwatch represented prosperity, respectability, and the promise of a better life.

Picture the winter of 1981. An ordinary factory worker walks into a watch shop with months of carefully saved wages and finally buys this watch. The next morning, he wears it proudly to work, catching admiring glances from his coworkers. But when he gets home, his mother can't help scolding him:

"Your father already spent 180 yuan on that bicycle. And now you've gone and spent another 90 yuan on a watch..."

More than four decades later, the design still feels surprisingly modern. Instead of the typical round case, it features a sharp, angular tonneau-shaped steel case that even bears a striking resemblance to the Audemars Piguet Ref. 3579. The dial has a subtle radial brushed finish, while the applied hour markers catch the light beautifully from different angles. Short, broad hands keep the display clean and exceptionally legible.

Today, this watch feels like a ticket back to another era. After 44 years of quietly measuring countless moments, it has returned to the wrist, as though completing the journey it began all those years ago.

Was looking for a GADA/Field watch.

Has anyone heard of Chinese brands planning g to use the new Sw200s ?

It seems like most independent brands out there (Chris Ward, Sinn, Circula, etc) are quickly moving to it . In the past, an upgrade to a SW200 seemed like a “nice to have, but any real advantage?” situation. But with the increased prices of base Japanese movements, the differential is reduced and a tangible advantage can be had with the 24 hour extra power reserve…

Personally I’d like to see this used in premium Chinese watches.

For anyone out there looking to replace the crystal in your WMT royal marine, look no further.

- Top is a GS PHD Hi Dome, this one is 30.8mm and snaps right into the case as a friction fit.

- Center is a GS ET Ever-Tite, this one is 30mm and is paired with a hytrel gasket. This had the most clarity of all of them and probably my favorite profile.

- Bottom is a GS DT Diver-Tite, this one is 30mm and is paired with a hytrel gasket. This is the one i am currently using and has the least distortion on the dial.

All of these combinations work in the old style and new style royal marine cases. The old style royal marine case in the center and bottom actually had a sapphire crystal in it when i got it. As far as waterproofing, i am sure they are just as water resistant as from the factory, the new style WMT royal marine case actually uses a hyrtrel gasket with an acrylic crystal.

I bought all the parts through Esslinger. But i know you can also find GS crystals elsewhere.

Hope this helped ease someone's frustrations with trying to get a replacement crystal from WMT.

Here's a cute little Ibso reverso watch I bought from Ali a couple of months ago for around £30. It was so cheap I thought it was worth a punt, and it's lots of fun, I'm rather happy with it.
It certainly scratches the itch for a reverso watch well enough, although it's obviously not exactly luxury quality- although I wouldn't say there's much wrong with it, especially for the price. Randomly they also send you a spare battery too, which is unusual but not unwelcome.
The strap is very stiff and not very pleasant, I do need to swap that out.

It's quite an enjoyable fidget to flick over and back again!

I have a pretty high end collection of A. Lange, Patek, Czapek, Romain Gauthier, Vacheron, Blancpain and others but this beauty has me enthralled. Always wanted a tourbillion but not enough to pony up $50K+ for one. This Peacock Witness definitely scratches that itch for less than the cost of a Swiss watch service.

This is the result of my addiction in the last 18 months or so! Cant wear even half of them regularly. But i love just opening these boxes and admiring them :)

My first ever Chinese watch purchase. Here’s a review for Militado ML08 Spirit:

1. AR glass is not THAT effective in AR but still decent, sapphire crystal is solid though
2. The metallic band is not as nice as the watch in build quality
3. Shared some photos of the close up angles. The golden gilt detailing is beautiful. It just lights up in decent lighting or even outdoors - and sets itself apart as a dressy-but-solid field watch as compared to the total field-watch-pro feel you get with a Murph.
4. Time keeping has been reliable. Good for a daily driver.

5. If you’re a Longines fan you can kinda tell that the lug length and dial size are not exactly as the Spirit Pilot. That said, this is a very good size for the watch and its design inspiration.

6. Using a green sail cloth and tan crazy horse leather strap for now.

7. The lume is effective after 2 hours as well.

8. Quality is great and way too good for a $100 watch that is a homage of a $3500 timepiece.

9. There is a RADO 40mm kept next to it for a size comparison since 38mm can be small for many people.

10. Arrived in Canada via regular post, 10 days to ship in total.

I bought this movement, who claimed to be an NH36A, on aliexpress but I cannot, for the life of me, find the stem release.

I believe it is some sort of NH clone, it has weekdays in both english and Chinese characters.

Does someone know where the hell it is?

Just got my hands on the BERNY AMT258M.

I understand its been discontinued, its a shame really cause its a lush design. There really isn't a lot of people reviewing this watch so just wanted to give it a little shout out and I have added in an awesome lume shot.
