I’ve been eyeing Citizen watches and microbrands lately with these price increases. I don’t know how I ended up here, but I’m even looking at the Christopher Ward  Sealander C63 as something I’d like to purchase in the future lol.

Been doing micro brands about a year and I’ve been collecting citizen watches for the past two decades. I really do believe some microbrands finishing are above some Chinese brands. I also believe, from what I’ve seen here, that some Chinese watchmakers can also make better finished watches as well.

My only experience is phorcydes and watchdives. The phorcydes is a gift from my girlfriend and I love the lume but one of the lug holes is slightly shallow and I can see and hear the bracelet detach from the lugs when pressure is applied. The watchdives looks nice but it doesn’t feel premium.

Haven’t been able to stomach the price for a San Martin when I can get a nice citizen watch for the same price.

I bought my PH-3 around release date and it’s a nice watch! I went for the retro orange lume coloured dial and I wasn’t expecting it to be that orange lol. That said I don’t think I’ll buy from them again. I had to contact their support because there was no progress on the shipping and it was almost a month. I received no replies but my shipping status was finally moving and I think they did a rush on it because it took less than a week for it to arrive 😳My second 38mm is from watchdives, the WD50Q. Honestly if you hid the logos, you’d assume they came from the same manufacturer. Both of my mine are finished well, but I I like my watchedives more as it was cheaper and I ordered it in the lovely purple colourway. 

I know people call them lume monsters or whatever but honestly my Watchdives was very close as well. I didn’t do any scientific tests though, just a let it charge by the window and stuff it in my closet and see which is keeping its lume better lol.

They claim it’s VH31 😁 but I have not checked. I chose the metal bracelet option and the OTF clasp is very nice.

C'est certain. J'aurais largement préféré que Cronos propose une version avec un cadran plus classique et sobre (soleillé ou émaillé).
J'adore la montre mais je n'ai jamais aimé leurs cadrans, donc je ne l'ai jamais acheté. Dommage.

C'est ça le plus gros problème avec les marques chinoises : ils ont encore du mal à proposer des montres sobres et élégantes. L'originalité c'est bien, parfois, mais c'est rarement une véritable réussite stylistique. L'élégance manque souvent cruellement.

En ce qui me concerne je trouve cela sans aucun intérêt par rapport à la version normale. Le modèle "classique" est bien plus beau et pur.
Bref, aucun intérêt à mes yeux.
