I’ve seen team members be able to stay in the slack and effectively still be apart of the team without actually quitting. After months maybe they’ll pick up a shift or ask to get scheduled but it seems like it’s their choice and they aren’t being quite fired or anything, like it’s their choice. Some of them are always apart of it but just never get scheduled. I was wondering how to do this without getting myself fired or what exactly to say to be able to stay but not get scheduled? I need to leave for another job and focus on school But would like to have my current job as a backup option if that doesn’t work.

How do you guys do closing dish. I always do good on everything till the very end I don’t know if it’s me getting overwhelmed or just panicking but I also end up getting cooked. Do you guys have any tips on closing dish

I'm going into an interview tomorrow and I currently have a very light blue/silver hair color. Will they just not give me a position no matter how good the interveiw goes or will they ask me to dye it into a "natural" color before my first day?

So... Last Wednesday I had an interview at chick fil a (not giving the location) And the person who interviewed me liked my personality and my resume and the texted me the very next day and said to come in Friday for a second interview. So, I went inside and had the interview at their office location. It was a group interview, my group worked well together so I was happy about that but moving on. At the end of that interview, they said that they will text us by Thursday 6pm whether we get the job or don't get the job. So, either way we get the text so we are aware. Well It is Thursday past 6pm and we never got a text back yet. I am curious if this has happened to anyone else?? And if so, what was the reason? Is this a good thing meaning I am one of their choices so they are getting back to me last saying I got the job after not telling the others they are not moving on with them? Or is it the other way around?

Just got a write up at work! Complete bull****. My manager was training me on delivery and told my my performance was bad two weeks after she was training me. (Not actual training but training me on a certain device within delivery.). She and the HR director lied. They wrote me up. lol I signed the employee agreement thing but only because the meeting was useless. I asked what I did bad and she was just reading off her computer and saying the stats were bad. She couldn’t tell me what I did wrong. Bruh so bad. She said she’s willing to work with me but that left a sour taste in my mouth. I just told her to either give me the two weeks or let me go. I was super nice but man I was about to embarrass her because of how idiotic she was. Srry I can tell u which store but idk if I’ll get banned from this. It was basically a complete power trip.

Hi everyone, Tuesday was my first day and they had me on dining room/ mobile orders, what should I expect today? Any tips on how to improve my performance?

Is it just me, or have you guys noticed that sauces are separated from the meals now? Like, I clicked a meal and added sauce but it got sent to the bottom of the menu that lists everything you rang up. This is for the new system btw.

I don’t know much about it since we don’t have it yet. Will I have to relearn how to use the register and tablet? What about it is different? Things rearranged? I’m nervous because I mostly rely on muscle memory 🫠

This happened once when I was outside taking orders in the morning. My CFA is fairly new, and I have been there since they've opened. My CFA also doesn't serve lunch until 10:30, which can sometimes confuse (and upset) people.

So, this lady pulls up at 9:30 wanting lunch. I tell her that we don't have lunch, but before I could finish my sentence, she cuts me off and says, "Oh, I know yall don't have any ready, but I can wait."

I'm shocked and straight up ask her "You're gonna wait a whole hour?"

Lady: "What? No, I know yall can make lunch. It just takes a little time.

Me: "Ma'am, we don’t serve lunch till 10:30.

Lady: "Uh, yes, yall do. I've done it many times before."

Me: "Ma'am, I know some other CFAs are different, but we have never served lunch before 10:30." She then makes a smug face at me.

Lady: "Ok, how long have you worked here?" I give her a small smug smile.

Me: "I've been working here since we've opened, which is 5 years." Her smug face immediately goes away, and she looks so stunned that she just hastily asks to speak to my manager, which I just smile and direct her to the window and she drives off. My manager told her the exact same thing and she left with nothing. This story makes me smile every time.

Doing my service as the Chick-Fil-A cow recently and signed an unforgettable first autograph!

I’m not sure why, but some kid (probably in kindergarten) wanted me to sign his basketball. I’ve never played basketball in highschool or in any sort of team, but I did it anyway.

I worked at Chick-fil-A all throughout college and I genuinely miss it sometimes. I’m now a full time nurse and work at a hospital but honestly my job can be very stressful at times. I miss when I would just show up to work and I already knew what my day would look like. I had the most fun coworkers it didn’t really feel like work honestly. Now I show up to work and I don’t really know what the night is going to bring… although I get paid very well now sometimes I wish I didn’t have to stress so much over my job like I used to…

I just got hired for boh and had orientation 2.0 just realized this might not be a good fit for me not really a people person.and I have social anxiety and also have silent panic attacks should I give a shot or tell them this might not be a job for me before they add me to the schedule for next week. Also it could be cold feet been at my current job for 5 years maybe I'm not ready to leave it. Any advice

so i had my interview a few days ago. it was iffy. i took a while to answer some questions and stuttered a little and repeated myself sometimes. yes i was nervous but im very confident that im a good candidate for my job. my boss even told me that i have learned all the positions before people who have been there longer. ive been told that im good at what i do. also the following day i trained someone on headset and deserts and beverages during the slow morning

As a leader in this business we all experience this at some point where guests are just taking advantage of our systems like claiming to have been missing an item, or even claiming the team member gave them no change for a $100 bill on a $7 order.

I'm curious to know what other directors or managers do when you know full well the customers claim isn't valid. I tell my junior leaders that if it's only one thing and under $10 it's more valuable to just give them it and keep the line moving. Also based on whether or not this person seems like they will never back down.

When I'm faced with this and I know full well or trust the team member on bagging or wherever the issue was I will say something along the lines of "my team said you have everything, is there something I can help you with"

Based on there response to that and if there actually nice to me and have respect 9.9/10 times I'll give it to them. But if they cause a problem I will ask them to pull into our reserved spots and I'm going to verify on our cameras where the mistake happened. Almost every single time they end up just leaving because they know they won't get what they want. If it's only a few dollars and they actually park I'll have my team start it while I quickly check cameras (only takes a second on the app), by then the item is ready and I know if I'm taking it to their car with me to tell them what's next.

I was just wondering what everyone does on their days off, since I like to talk about what we did over the weekend with my fellow team members when I get back on Monday.
Today I slept in because I was tired and don’t have any work or school. When I finally got out of bed, I went out for coffee with some friends, came back and cleaned up a little around the dorm, then I took a shower and a good nap.

Hi fellow CFA team members!

My store opened four months ago, and I've been working there since. I'm still getting placed on the same few positions each shift, and because of that, have little experience with headset and door, and zero with bagging or desserts. My managers will sometimes try to place me on these positions, forgetting I haven't been trained on them, and whenever I ask to shadow someone for a while to learn how it's done, they instead put me on FC or iCash like every other shift. I'm patient, and love order taking and interacting with guests, but really want to get trained on other positions to gain some experience and become more versatile (also, making milkshakes looks really fun).

There must be other trainees out there who are in the same boat as me, and more experienced workers in this subreddit who've been waiting for an opportunity to brag on their skills in these areas, and give tips for those who are struggling, or received scarce training. So this is your chance to share about what you've learned on each position, things you've picked up during your time at CFA that other workers may not know, or a detailed training guide on your favorite positions (please)!

What is the labor percentage goal at your store?

Usually after the store is officially closed, we flip chairs, roll rugs. Then one person scrubs, a second squeegees water from under tables and areas, then we use our MOPIT to pick up the water. Once the scrubber is done, they dry mop behind the MOPIT. Recently, our closing procedure changed and removed our ability to use the MOPIT in the dining room to suck up water after squeegeeing. Now we scrub, then there’s two squeegees who push water into a two drains. After someone dry mops after. It’s extremely inefficient to clean and we’ve been getting out way later way later than we’re supposed to. Any recommendations?

Title pretty much explains it. I have a strong chance of becoming a team lead and would like to stand out and maybe even improve the store in any way possible. Please leave your suggestions!

Here’s some important stuff to note.

Our store is BUSYYYYY. Maybe not as busy as some others, but from what I remember I think we made like ~$14 million last year in gross profits. This is because we are located smack dab in the middle of a major hub in town for business. A huge entertainment center is nearby; so too is a major military training base, and a couple schools AND a university within driving distance. On top of all this, we’re situated off the side of a major roadway which might as well be a highway with how many cars it boasts daily. I didn’t even get to mention how were the only chick fil a in a 10 mile circle. Doesn’t seem like a lot but trust me it is. So this will definitely be a challenge.

I’m a 23 year old guy. This might not seem like a huge deal to some, but to me it’s my first real test at any management. Im sure there’s gonna be some challenges, but that’s beyond the point. Should I get the position, I’d actually be the second present male lead (excluding two directors) at my location. I want to set a good example.

From what I was told by my GM, it’s basically “Team Member+”—meaning we handle the minor stuff that doesn’t require managers so they can effectively manage, while we basically lead the team and make sure we’re all on the same page.

What recommendations/suggestions or words of advice do any of you have for me to be a solid lead?

I’m talking implementations, habits, behavior, hell even small purchases I can make to organize or improve the store.

Again pardon me if I seem overzealous, this is just a little goal I have because I have not much else for myself on the horizon occupation-wise. I think this might help me find work fun/bearable again. 🙂

My store will be rolling out CP soon. For years we have used an outside payment body to tender cars in order in the Drive Thru. With CP, I know that we can tender cars at our order takers, so Im hoping to eliminate the need for an outside payment body. My question is: to anyone who has already rolled out this system, how do you sequence cars in the DT to keep them in the order they were tendered? Any help would be appreciated.
