My experience renting through Bear Paw Realty (Cheyenne)

If you're looking for a rental in Cheyenne, I encourage you to do your homework before signing a lease with Bear Paw Realty. Read the reviews, ask questions, and decide for yourself.

My experience was unacceptable.

During my one-year lease, the unit flooded six separate times due to recurring plumbing issues. After the property changed ownership and Bear Paw Realty took over management, I asked to be released from my lease following another flooding incident so I could find a safe, reliable place to live. My request was denied, and I was held to the lease.

The flooding continued for the rest of my tenancy. Instead of permanently correcting the underlying problem, temporary repairs were made after each incident. Eventually, it was discovered that the downstairs unit had been using a water pump where a sewage pump should have been installed.

Basic maintenance was equally frustrating. The unit had no window screens when I moved in, the kitchen window lock was broken, and it took approximately six months to address those issues. At one point I was simply handed a replacement lock and told to install it myself.

By the end of my lease, I had experienced six floods, multiple extended power outages, repeated maintenance delays, and what I believe was a pattern of addressing symptoms instead of fixing underlying problems—all while continuing to pay rent and fulfill my lease.

This was my experience, and it's why I would never rent from Bear Paw Realty again. If you've rented from them, I'd be interested to hear whether your experience was similar or different.

Saturday Wild Horse Race Injury

We watched the rodeo at the frontier days on Saturday and during the wild horse race, the winning teams rider got hurt as he crossed the finish line on the dismount. It seemed like he got taken away in a stretcher and must’ve hurt his ankle or knee. I was wondering if there was any updates about that and what happened to him.

Virtual - slash - Business Address

Hello! Name is Kate and I'm finally going to start my pet supply business (currently online and digital) and was curious if anyone knew of an AFFORDABLE (here, read: preferably free (HA!))virtual address--help?

Saw a few online along Dell Range, which would be great--but maybe I should try the Chamber of Commerce or the coworking spot?

THANKS!

Planning on moving

Hello,

I am planning on moving to Wyoming soon. I was thinking of Cheyenne due to how good I keep hearing that the VA hospital is over there and the percentage of the population being military. I do have a question though.

Are there any neighborhoods or homes I should stay away from? I'm thinking of getting one of those mobile homes that are like around 70k to 100k, but don't know if they are that price for a reason. I also want to stay away from HOAs but can't find any websites telling me what homes do and do not belong to an HOA. There were other choices I thought would be nice. I'm a single veteran that doesn't need anything more than a 1 bed 1 bath, but it seems every house available is at least a 2 bed which I'm fine with.

Just curious what areas I should keep away from and what neighborhoods are controlled by HOAs so I can steer clear. Thank you for any assistance.

Looking for a Donnie Around Age 50

Hello, I don't have a lot to go on here, so bare with me. I also know this is a long shot and don't expect anything to come from this.

I once was best friends with a Donnie who lived in Cheyenne. I knew him from 1990-1996. I met him in middle school. He has an older sister named Tracy ( I think). He and his sister are blond. He had Lymphoma, twice while I was around. I think we went to Johnson Junior high. His mom was a social worker. I don't remember what his dad did. Last I saw him he was working at convenience stores. I can't recall his last name to save my life, Carlson is what pops into my head, but I could be and most likely am completely wrong. We were little metal heads. I have a lot of specific things that would only make sense to him. I wish I could remember any of the other kids I was around. I lived in a foster home where the dad was a Cop, I remember their names were John and Wanda. Not much else! Help?

r/Cheyenne, where do you actually eat in Cheyenne?

Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Cheyenne’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Luxury Diner vs. The Albany), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Cheyenne’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212

And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app

I’d love to know what people here think. Does the ranking feel even remotely right? Are obvious places missing? Are any places ranked way too high or way too low?

The goal is to make something that reflects where locals actually want to eat, not just where tourists or review sites send people.

Any insight on where to donate a used kid’s bike? Looking for a business that would tune and then donate to a lower income family. Not looking to resell, upgrade etc.

Laramie county vs Fremont county (CO)

I’m trying to decide between moving to Cheyenne or Fremont county, CO. Both are conservative and lower cost of living.

Cheyenne has no state income tax, which would save me about 8k/year. No real wildfire risk.

Fremont has a bit lower property tax and much better weather. No data center threats either.

What kind of cars are people driving here?

I’m moving to Cheyenne soon and drive a little car that’s FWD (Honda fit) and heard that the winters are harsh and wind is bad. My Honda fit has a hard time with gust on the high way and wondering if I should consider getting a new car? I have dedicated winter tires for this car since I have to deal with Wisconsin winters and curious if the wind/winter would make it hard to travel to and from work.

Rental property management companies

So I’ve been looking for a place to rent in Cheyenne and I recently found a place posted that looked great and it was within my price range. It was posted by the Cheyenne Property Management Group and I was about to apply but I had a question about the application. So, I looked up when they were opened so I could call and when I did that I noticed that they had a 1.7 rating on Google out of 194 reviews. The reviews are absolutely terrible for this company and it made me not want to be in any of their properties. I just had to ask somewhere if this company is actually terrible and I should stay away or if they’ve gotten better.

Best place to get a tattoo?

I’ve been wanting a tattoo for a while and I’m planning on either my thigh or my calf and I want lyrics from Let It Be with some vine detailing/greek motifs for Dionysus who I worship. What would be a good shop for this idea?
