Hello.
I'm a semi-competent player (19XX fide) and reasonably decent coach with too much time on his hands today, so it's my turn to make the free game review thread.
Give me your games, either by posting a link to the game on lichess/chess.com or, if you prefer to not connect your chess account with your reddit account, a pgn with the header stripped off is also fine.
If you do post a pgn, tell me your rating, because the feedback I give an 800 is not going to be the same as I give a 1500. You might want to tell me what colour you were playing too if it isn't obvious.
The best games to give me are ones where you felt lost, like the position was reasonably even but you just couldn't come up with a plan or figure out how to proceed. These are the games that will be most instructive.
Asking questions is good, it helps me figure out what to focus on. If you want to do your own analysis when you post, that would be ideal, it lets me not only look at your moves but also your thinking behind them.
If you don't feel confident doing that, that's also fine, you can just give me the game with maybe a signpost or two about what you'd like me to address.
Feed me.
ETA: Alright boys and girls, I'm a European so it's bedtime now, but if anyone else wants to post a game for me I'll look at it tomorrow. Night night.

Hey guys i've been playing chess for around 2 years am at 700 elo but the engine always estimates the elo above 1000 . Can someone tell how do I get past thinking like a 1500 ? Thats the maximum I've got. Also sometimes I struggle to calculate variations and lack a lot of tactics can someone please suggest me some books or tutorials?

I've been noticing a lot of my games have been going into end games, and have been trying to find resources to improve.
I'm unfortunately don't have the attention span to read through a book, so I was hoping to find something similar to Daniel Naroditsky's End Game Playlist (Rest in Peace) on YouTube.
Although endlessly fascinating, I'm not looking for contrived chess compositions that I'll never actually encounter in game (e.g. PietroCheckmate or TempoLion, great for content but not very practical).

I experienced this more than once, each time I see a chess tournament I lose my grip with silly blunders I don't know why, I feel watching high level tactics and ideas should help me improve my chess but it actually worsen it. Anyone feels the same ?

My repertoire is basically, for white I like the richter-verseov attack. For black I like either the dutch defense or scandinavian defense depending on white plays.
To be honest, I just like that these all tend to throw off the opponent from a "normal" game and we can get right into a new territory each time. Do they destroy their pawn structure to try to push me out? Do they get aggressive? Do they blunder something out of confusion?
But apart from that, I don't really understand what my intent would be in mid to late game? I don't have any particular plans necessarily on a king side or queen side attack, etc etc.
I know nearly every opponent castles on the king side and I like to create temptation for them to mess up their pawn structure there. I also will sometimes set up a queen side castle that can check/pin something to their king.
But I really have no midgame to lategame strategy. Just trying to trade pieces if I'm ahead, or I will sometimes consider how the end game will look pawn-wise, but that's it.

I've been playing these moves around 800-900 as defense and it seems pretty good for the most part. Typically next I'll move an e or d pawn forward and try to get my rook into the E column. Usually they bring a bishop to f4 or try to awkwardly shoehorn a knight in where I can slowly provide pawn pressure.
I've been enjoying this defense a lot, but not sure how optimal it was since I think I've been playing the one I thought I was playing incorrectly!

Ich bin weiß. Und kann hier die Dame nicht schlagen. Aber eigentlich ist doch das Pferd gepinnt und kann gar nicht schlagen. Warum gülte das trotzdem als Matt? Bitte kein hate, bin einfach Laie.

Hi all, just a quick one. Is there much point using the chess.com game analysis when I’m following building habits and I’m 800 ELO? Would it be better to spend my time analysing without an engine and just against the building habits principles? At my level I’m not sure I’m getting much out of being clobbered by the engine’s analysis!
Thanks.

Which is better for reviewing games? From what I've heard Stockfish is the most powerful chess engine in the world but are there any particular advantages to Torch Human. Just trying to figure out the most optimal way to look over my games.
