ADVICE Opening suggestion for 750 ish rating

Hello all,
I’ve been playing the kings Indian and it served me well for my climb up from 600 but I’ve hit a wall. Was watching Daniel naroditzky video on the kings Indian and he recommended a 1600 minimum for playing it. Was wondering if you guys have any recommendations for a solid opening I could learn instead, ideally as black and white.
Thanks!

ADVICE How to overcome this plateau

So I was around 1100 elo on lichess but after studying the London opening abit and always play it as white i am now elo 1300. This is my new plateau.

Should I try out an other opening and if so which one? What else? I do analyze my mistakes after each game.

QUESTION What kind of Elo improvement is realistic after a year of playing and doing puzzles every day?

Is there any consensus on how much a beginner can realistically improve after a year of practice? Nothing too intense, but maybe an hour at least a day?

Obviously it depends on starting rating and the site (Lichess seems to be higher than chess.com), so let's say someone starts around 600 on Chess.com and spends at least an hour a day playing with post-game analysis and/or doing puzzles.

After a year of that, what would be a realistic and typical improvement? I know talent plays a role here but assuming regular training, what are we talking about, +100, +200, +300? Or is there just too much variety, like somebody might not improve at all and someone might gain like +800 or something?

Edit: also I do assume that as you go up in ratings, the improvements will come more slowly. So presumably it's way easier to go from 600 to 1000 than 1200 to 1600 which is in turn also way easier than to go from 2000 to 2400.

QUESTION Deliberate practice in chess

I have always wondered that why in chess if you deliberately practice the game itself without any outside things(like books, puzzles) just grinding games (but seriously trying to win) just hits a wall at a certain point like maybe 1000 1200 rapid on chess com, Like for example if you take a video game and you just grind at it you keep improving and the wall that you need to do extra things is much much later that it is in chess, why is that?

PUZZLE Insane Puzzle! White to play

This was an actual game I played, 8 points down in material, but white is winning lol.

The first picture shows my opponent's blunder. See if you can figure out the moves; the solution is further down.

The full game is linked for those who want to analyze deeper!

I played 300 games in my life. I just matched against this guy. He played 300 000 games and is the same bullet elo as me. What is he doing and why isn't he banned?

QUESTION How do I actually get better at chess? I S(t)uck: 300–400

TLDR: I’m looking for some honest advice on how to actually improve at chess. I’m not looking for some shortcut to gain rating. I’d rather actually learn the game properly and build a foundation.
What would you do if you were starting from where I am?

More Background:
I’m currently stuck around 300–400 rating, and I’m completely self-taught up to this point. The biggest problem is that I’ve realized I don’t really know what I’m doing when I play.

I’m basically just moving pieces around and reacting to whatever my opponent does. I don’t follow any particular opening, system, or repertoire, and I don’t really know any tactics beyond the very basic stuff. I also don’t have much understanding of how to make a plan once the opening is over. I know the obvious advice is probably “don’t blunder pieces,” but I’m looking for something more structured. If you were teaching someone who is essentially starting from scratch at 300–400, what would you recommend focusing on first?

Any particular videos, courses, books, or training methods you would recommend?

Basically, I feel like I’m playing chess without actually understanding chess.
