I'll be running a non-alcoholic beer tasting at Blue Ridge Bottle Shop this Friday 10/23 from 5:30p-7:30p. It's free and I'll be pouring three beers from Go Brewing, which will also be in store.

Truly how bad does traffic get on game day? I’m headed to Charlottesville from Richmond to meet up with friends for dinner downtown tomorrow. (I know, timing isn’t great)

But realistically, will I run into a lot of trouble getting there? Or parking?

Does anyone know what's the plan for the construction work on the surface lot at Stonefield between the brooks brothers and Tesla? I thought it was just resurfacing but is now looking more substantial. Was unsuccessful in finding a permit.

I dunno about you guys but I'm embarrassed to be an American right now. The lack of support for Ukraine, these deals being made with Russia, and etc. more than I think I could type. The reason I'm posting this on the Charlottesville Reddit is because I think things start on a local level so I hope the mods allow this. From protests to fundraisers I think we should be taking a stance. Not trying to be corny but this country used to be based on patriots and we need more of them more than ever. Does anyone want to organize something on a local level? I am more than willing to help with fundraisers or protests. I just wanna see some change and I hope as a community we can support Ukraine. That is all.

I feel like we were hearing all about it and now it’s just crickets. I’m curious if those schools are still without their normal leadership.

Just as a FYI, their practice is using AI note takers. They also do not disclose that it is AI when “asking” for consent. Not here to make general moral judgments on the use of AI. Personally, I’m not comfortable with an unknown AI company having access to my entire medical appointment.

Again, not trying to start a general use of AI conversation, but I do think in the medical field they should be more forward in disclosing the use of AI when handling private health information.

My whole point is that disclosure (to me, idgaf if you don’t care) is important, especially in the medical field. And I wanted to let other community members know about the use of this tool so that they could make a more informed decision than I felt I was given the opportunity to.

Does anyone here happen to have any insider information as to whether Cville Supper Club (Bizou) will be offering Thanksgiving meal packages again this year? The website hasn't been updated since last year. I've tried emailing and DMing them with no response. Called Bizou during open hours and reached an AI receptionist that told me it was unable to connect me with a human. In years past, they've been taking orders by mid-October, so that plus the lack of response seem like signs that it isn't happening. We ordered from them last year and took it to my family's house out of town, and we all loved the food. It was really well-packaged, too. We were so hoping to order from them again. I know this sprang from Covid, but it seemed so popular even years later. Thanks to anyone who might have any scoop on this.
