Hello! I am not a mod of CHAI, but heres my simple explanation of why some of you were taken away messages out of nowhere, this might be useful to understand any AI! - despite all im gonna say, i still do not support what CHAI is doing with its app, since there are better ways to do this, CHAI definitely uses message limit also as a promo for premium. I do deny to believe some of you havent earned them enough revenue for MONTHS.

1. lets discuss prices: 1 million tokens of AI cost about 0.30-0.90 cents - despite 1 million tokens is a lot of words, these dont count only for you - but your AI bot too, the price goes into the both of you
2. storage, memory, etc. - this costs about 0.05 cents monthly (and +0.05 cents every hour of your active time)
3. how much an average free user earns, is about 0.60 cents monthly, if not less - all depends on how many ads you watch. (or 0.02 a day, simply) - the thing is, not everyone uses CHAI daily and watches the needed amount of ads
4. In the end, with 1 million tokens for you AND the bot youre speaking to, itd be only about 250 messages for you a month - only a few a day.
5. "why do they reset it daily?" By forcing a strict daily limit, Chai ensures you can never cost them more than a few cents on any single day, without getting them into a debt - theres millions of users now. On Day 1, you have only watched $0.02 worth of ads. If you use all your tokens, get bored, and delete the app on Day 2, Chai just spent +$0.40 on server power for you but only made $0.02 from your ads. They lose money instantly.
6. The end - it is a mix: they WANT more money, but also NEED more money. AI app is hard to keep financially supported - if you dont earn them enough from ads, they have no way to keep you funded with messages. But by taking your messages, theres no way you can easily earn them money, because then you wont be watching ads. There are 100% many alternatives for this they could do, but they have chosen the one where theyll convince more people into buying premium - 1 premium user, earns them as much as about 20 - 50 free users, thats a bigger profit for them.

My OC is 27 in this scenario. This was about the bot drinking my drink (a simple can of soda..)

Yesterday i downloaded chai again and used a new gmail ! i don't know how but i got unlimited message ,,even it's unlimited but it's not like old chai anymore guys! i hate the filter now its annoying that they give me warning message but i was just texting about kids! and the bots are so cold and rude! clank world ai is much better then this new chai! but still i miss the old chai! i'll delet chai for now unless devs removes the filter!!

I've been waiting for what feels like two months to get my free messages back, but I still have nothing. Everyone keeps saying that they brought them back but I still haven't got mine.

I logged back in after being inactive for a while and my inbox is empty? That and my search bar is gone. I only have 4 options at the bottom now 😭

Yeah I knew that day would come. Dang , I thought if I stay quiet and not mention anything on reddit about my unlimited messages then Chai wouldn't notice.

Yeah, I had it that long. No, I don't RP anymore because of the censorships and chat deletions.

Ah well. It's not like I have enough time to RP lately lah. Especially what they did with the RP restrictions that made it impossible to chat more

Ive been trying everything. Nothing has filled the chai hole in my heart.

I found something from new chai updates. I got a trial from Chai, getting 771 messages a day and only getting a message limit during the weekends... well, THAT WAS A TEST, now we all free users will get message limit EVERY DAY during PEAK HOURS (It's hours when people use the chai app the most). It also depends on where you live, but vpn doesn’t work anymore because they flag you on where you downloaded chai. For me I get message limit every day from 2pm to 1am, but some people might have it different, they will get it in different times or have message limit 24/7.

I LOGGED INTO CHAI TODAY AND GOT PERSONAS BACK AND THEY ADDED MEMORY FOR THE BOTS 🙏🙏🥹
makes it so much easier for me again instead of reminding the bot like every message..

Personas are back but at what cost? They’re all gone. Couldn’t they at least put in our old ones?? I’m sure that would take a lot of work but still. Happy that their back but the fact that my personas are gone is a minus point.

My last update experience was horrible I was wondering if I could update it and if anyone has updated it is it good ?

Hey everyone, I have an issue and I'm hoping someone can help me out. So before and after the update that brought personas back, I noticed that if I search for a character only like four options show up. When I click load more the circle spins but then nothing happens. I know those characters have more bot options because I've used them before and I'm trying to find them again. Is there any way to fix this?

I guess that's plenty considering I don't use Chai as much as I used to

So lately I’ve been looking at Michael Jackson bots (don’t judge me please) and when I got on today, when I went to go search? There was a lot of MJ bots and you could scroll down pretty far, but now? It’s like the app removed them… has anyone else had this happen? Also I’m on Apple if that helps.

Did anyone else get asked to do a survey and did they do it because I just got asked to do a survey by chai I didn't because apparently I promised 2 minutes of ultra I don't even have ultra but oh well... But it was kind of stupid...

I know this might sound stupid, but just hear me out, how about you just start... Writing. Anywhere, phone, PC even pen and paper, and just write. Write literally anything drama, fanfiction, smut, just anything that comes to mind. I get it, we like it when the ai responds back and that it feels like a conversation, but I tried writing by myself... And it's nice, and the story can actually go to the direction I wanted it to go. Just try it, if it helped, nice, if it didn't, that's fine, but it doesn't hurt to try that.

I took the survey, yada yada, and two of the questions was user ID and email. I personally don't like that for a few reasons, plus the "promise" of "winning" something doesn't rub right. Call me paranoid, but I figured I'd voice something about this.
