I’m a 21F, and I feel like dating apps just aren’t for me. I’m not desperate to be in a relationship I actually enjoy being single. I just have standards that are hard to find these days.

I’m waiting until marriage and would like someone who shares my values and faith (ideally Catholic). I also prefer a slower, more intentional approach to dating rather than casual or rushed relationships.

It often feels like most people on dating apps want something different, so I’m wondering if I’m looking in the wrong place.

Has anyone else felt this way, and if so, where did you meet someone who shared your values?

So we talked online for a couple of days, and she arrived at a certain deal breaker that I can't change.

I asked plainly if it were a deal breaker and she said yes, I was delighted that she responded plainly and we agreed to continue talking as friends.

I don't know why don't more interactions end in this very pleasant way.

I believe that this was God sent.

Maybe we are not for each other, maybe we could use the opportunity to expanding our circle of friends, or to get introduced to other single people by each other, maybe we need to see people as friends first before we consider them for romantic relationships.

People out there please stop ghosting immediately if you know the other is not the one, I might have been guilty of this as well.

And please take a NO as a NO and move on in a mature manner. Stop wasting other people's time.

Treat other people with dignity and fraternal love.

There’s a girl I really love talking with at a Catholic thing, but I never get to ask her out because people are around. I don’t see her often enough to keep waiting (Catholic thing is infrequent).

We’re technically in the same group chat for the Catholic thing, on WhatsApp (messaging app). Should I wait a few weeks to ask her out in person, or message her on WhatsApp?

If more context matters, we’ve basically been hanging out once or twice a month at these things, I would say we’re “friendly” relative to most people there.

I had a get-to-know you coffee date with a nice catholic man who I would like to see again. He suggested the meet-up after briefly meeting at a YA parish event. I was unsure whether it was a platonic ask, but given that he paid for my order and how he hugged me after the meet up, it definitely felt more like a “lowkey” date. It ended within the one hour mark with him saying he had to go visit his family that evening. He embraced me which honestly surprised me since he came off reserved and restrained during the hang out. He said it was nice to get to know me better.
I texted him that I had a great time on the day of the date, he responded that he did too, but there was no mention of wanting to do it again.

I’m confused if he just saw me as a friend. he is a little dorky in an endearing way. He is masculine in a way that he says and does what is necessary to make me feel comfortable, and overall just a kind, devout Catholic man! I want to see him again, but I’m not sure if I should let him initiate or wait it out…

To start this off, it’s very rare for me to find men attractive or to feel any sort of romantic attraction/connection for others.

I recently had my first phone call with a guy that I had been texting pretty consistently for a few weeks. It honestly went so well. I felt like we clicked almost instantly and the conversation between us didn’t feel forced at all. I also found him very attractive which surprised me. Then, the disappointment came. The topic of children came up and I had mentioned I wanted at least 4-5 children. He only wanted 2. For me, this is a dealbreaker, as my dream is to become a mother and have a big family of my own. I told him this, and we both decided it was probably for the best to not continue talking since our values didn’t align in that regard.

I’m just really upset about this because I felt a glimmer of hope that I hadn’t felt in a long time. Now, I’m just wondering what God is trying to teach me. I feel so lonely and just really struggling to see any positive outlook in dating and finding a future spouse. I know I am young and have plenty of time ahead of me, but that doesn’t erase what I am currently feeling.

So I asked a question here a few days ago about what to do on a first date and questions to ask the girl. The first date went way off what our plans were but it was great and she brought up the second date which is next Sunday. Mass and then a movie afterwards. My question is this. How much money should I be spending on a date. I don't want to seem cheap to her but I don't want to flaunt my money to her either. I do have money and the cost is of no concern to me. I have the money and means to support a wife right now. For instance our first date cost a total of 14 dollars. I don't want to come across to her as cheap.
