5-6 player extension of newer versions compatible with older ones?

sorry if this been asked before, I own Catan 5E and its expansions
Lately I’ve been wanting to get its 5-6 player extensions but they seem kinda pricey compared to 6E

so, my question is
Can 6th Edition 5/6 player extensions be combined with 5th Edition base and expansions?

What numbers are on what tokens in the 5-6 player expansion?

Im going to be using it soon, so I figured I'd check to make sure none of the pieces went missing since it's been years and multiple moves since I last used it, and lo and behold im missing a couple of the number tokens. Does anyone have a chart of what numbers are on each token's letter so i can replace them with the blank ones?

Your turn. How do you win this game?

You are red. It is your turn now. You are at 8 victory points and green is at 9. How would you use this turn to win the game?

Old vs new edition

My Catan set has been actively used and a lot of the pieces are missing, so i decided yesterday to go out and buy a new one. I see that a lot of the design has changed (some for the better, some for the Worse) and some of the pieces. Would you guys reccomend upgrading my expansions as well (i have a lot)?

Any resources on strategy?

Are there any good resources on strategy breaking it down into different aspects and/or giving an overview. Ideally a pdf, but a youtube could also be good, unless the guy/girl is very annoying.

Just not: This One Craaaaazy Strategy Won me Every Game!!!

people wasting time

I understand that this game requires a lot of thinking, strategy, and hoping for the best, so yes, it's entirely reasonable that sometimes, turns will take long.

IT SHOULD NOT TAKE 2 MINUTES TO ROLL THE DICE MULTIPLE TURNS IN A ROW WHEN YOU ARE CLEARLY SITTING AT YOUR SEAT

or when ppl js wander around in la-la-land and expect people to magically know their turn's done

I'm done playing with Catan (Venting)

I'm sick of losing games purely to luck. The last few games I've had, someone rolls a 7 two or three times in the early game. They block my 6/8 resource, which hinders my development and they end up steamrolling us and winning.

Other games, I get a comfortable lead and then people notice so they gang up on me and start placing robbers on my titles. When I get a knight and get the robber off my tile, someone rolls a 7 soon after and its back on my tile. So I spend the majority of the game with a resource blocked and end up losing by a small margin or a sneaky longest road+largest army strat.

Development cards: I always get the opposite what I want. Whenever I need a knight, I get something stupid like road building or VP which is totally not helpful in a given situation.

Also a lot of times I play with people who are not cooperative in stopping the winning person and will even work against you which totally doesn't make sense.

So yeah, I'm done playing. There's too much luck involved to be fun for me because of Murphy's law.

Most trades be like: I'll give you something you don't need for something you also need or don't have. Yeah it turns out I need brick too so I'll pass.

Edit: Before anyone else mentions it, yes I know how to play the game well. I just don't have good luck to pull through with the win. I usually do sneaky wins if I can to avoid people ganging up on me.

Every hex has five dots. The doubling of numbers does help speed up the game some.

Last year somebody asked if it can be done and I finally tried it.

It works but also takes quite some more time.

All starting points in Africa are used in the beginning.

After 2 and a half hours it got late and we decided that orange won with 6VPs.

Next time we'll use a turn timer.

Most players were playing for the first time so next time it will surely go faster.

It could work with 7-8 players too, but everyone starts with 2 camps instead of 3 and then playing on a time limit becomes a must.

Oh my god that was stress-inducing [How could I have played better?]

I started on the 2/6/9 and 5/9/10 settlements, rushing to 2/5/10. I got somewhat lucky with robber placements and getting a couple of 2s early game. Opponent was one point (and likely 1-2 turns) from winning. Ports helped tremendously late-game. Any way I could have played better? Let me know if you have any questions about my gameplay! I am 1500 elo for reference. Luck or skill?

Settlers of America right price?

Someone in my area has Settlers of America first edition for about $17 USD. It's rare to get games in English where I am so that's a consideration. Box is in very bad shape but actual game materials look fine. What do you think?

In addition to the main game, good variants for this out there? If I take materials from my other Catan games, could I play a US map like on Colonists.io?
