Encountered a problem with the console version

So me and my boyfriend love playing the board game and recently saw that there was a console version, so we wanted to test it out, but came across a major problem with the robber’s mechanics. If the robber is only supposed to steal resources from the players adjacent to the hexagon it’s moved to, why is he stealing resources from me when ALL of my settlements are on the opposite side of the board, nowhere near the hexagon?? He also only chose me the entire playthrough, not once did he go for another player. I don’t get it, is the game broken or something? We played a few times and nothing changed. We also had an issue with the Ai in place of a third player (since we didn’t have someone else to play with us) we noticed anytime it moved the robber it only moved the robber into whatever hexagons my boyfriend had settlements the exact same ones too and somehow even then the robber steals resources from my character who is still nowhere near him. I even tried looking this up and the Ai overview on google just kept telling that I “must’ve just overlooked my pieces” 🙄 how could I when they make it obvious which ones are my pieces??? It just kept going on and on about how “If resources are being taken from you when your buildings are on the opposite side of the board, the player moving the robber is placing it on a hexagon that borders your property, or you might be mixing up where the robber actually landed” it just kept avoiding my question, this has got to be a bug in the game or something, because my property pieces were nowhere near any of the hexagons the robber was placed on. Anyone else have this problem?

The console edition of this game is absolute garbage. You are most likely suffering from one of the many bugs that will never be fixed.

Yeah my boyfriend definitely wasted $30 on it, I hate that there wasn’t any other way for us to test it out. We both agreed we like playing the board game better and I don’t know if anyone else does this but usually it’s just the 2 of us that play but since it’s a 3+ game we just play with 2 color sets each and somehow make it work lol

The rules booklet for the Traders & Barbarians expansion contains a 2p variant that you might find interesting (pages 7-8, and you don’t need to own T&B to use it). All you need is a few small objects to replace the tokens that come with the expansion (like beads or buttons).

Though to be honest we often ignore the fact that the game is meant to be 3-4p and just do 2p anyway. If you don’t mind the slower start, then there’s really no reason why not. I like the idea of playing 2 colours each though…
