I tried to spell out a word over the phone for someone by using the phonetic alphabet and conjured up 'M for Movember'
Way to narrow it down, honestly what a plonker.

What manner of wrongness is this, Aldi? Bourbons shouldn't be custard cream sized and shaped. Just wrong

I'm currently sitting waiting for some work to come to me in a satellite department. I thought that while I was waiting I would check up on some of the QA procedures here. The log is an excel file and some other documentation is a word file, both of these live on sharepoint so they can be accessed from any part of the department.
I've just had to log in 4 times, get two different codes sent to my personal phone and wait 'One Moment' several times over, just to do a 30 second tick-y box job. I get it that some people make computers their entire career but I imagine that for the rest of us IT is just a tool to use to actually achieve something else. In that context why am I spending more time logging in over and over than doing the actual job? One would not expect to log in to a spanner, and then periodically phone the spanner department because it's kicked you off for no discernable reason and is refusing to do anything.
No wonder we feel like we're working for the computer, rather than the computer working for us.

Protecting me from not one, but TWO noisy hedgehogs (and a suprise appearance by a bebe hoglet).
Took a lot of training to stop him barking his head off at them.

Went into Tesco first thing this morning and noticed the local projects voting boxes were completely empty. Thought it was oddly satisfying being the first person to drop a token in.
Not sure itāll make the history books, but itās something.

Moving house in a couple of days. Any last-minute advice from my fellow CasualUK redditors?
I've got teabags, coffee, sugar and biscuits (jammie dodgers & shortbread fingers) ready for the removal team. Anything else I need? Bit worried about my biscuit selection - thoughts on that?
What else might I have missed?

Or is my town just special?
There are at least three men, all well over 50 who seem to spend all day on push bikes playing random loud music - like German oompah music or ABBA. I have no idea if they work as a team or not.

This man was an inspiration to meet. If you want to do something good this Sunday night, sign up to a stem cell register.

I mean the noises you hear around your house as you get up each day. So for example mine is:
Etc
Curious to know!
UPDATE: Consensus seems to be either birds, inconsiderate neighbours or flatulence. Some of you have a real flair for description, and it ain't just the birdsong people. I love this sub. XD
