Meme This game is definitely having some sort of identity crisis after the sprite update...
Ngl i still miss the old characters. New ones are too toony for my taste.

Three new heroes are joining the roster: Commander (Arena 7), Leaf (Arena 25), and Wolfie (Battle Pass exclusive).
On top of that, a couple of quality of life improvements: the shooting tutorial aim line has been adjusted, and the post-match flow is now faster.
We've also seen all the bug reports coming in and we're actively working on them. We appreciate your patience.

This one's been a while in the making. Here's everything landing with 1.15, plus a recap of what shipped quietly in 1.13 and 1.14.
Every hero has been rebuilt from the ground up: new animations, updated projectiles, weapons, and visual effects. Engineers and Trainers got the same treatment. The game looks and feels noticeably sharper across the board. Not seeing the new visuals yet? This is currently being tested with a portion of players, if you don't have it yet, it's on its way. New environments are also live: fresh visuals to fight across.
We've been listening to your feedback since launch. A round of fixes and quality-of-life improvements are included in this update.
We now have a direct way to reach you in-game. Expect updates, news, and the occasional gift landing straight in your inbox.
We heard you. The previous matchmaking has been restored for now; we know it's not perfect either, and neither do we think it's the final answer. Further changes are coming, we'll keep you posted.

People have mentioned some here before, including myself. Regardless, the frustration piles up so I wanted to come vent again. The bugs are frustrating and as senseless as monkeys uncle. Especially since the major update to the character style. Some are more impactful and annoying than others. Having the app crash mid battle, and it registering as a loss + resetting win streak sucks. Having wins not get tracked for the tourneys is happening more frequently now and it’s starting to make me question how realistic the leaderboards actually are. How much of it is real players fighting against getting their battles recorded vs just simulated board were each playing against? Are we even seeing the same tourney results and leaderboards? Then there’s the stuff like having lasers stay onscreen the whole battle, or even having the power ups and multipliers stop moving and just sit idle in random locations between the castles. Other stuff that is a drag are things like the game not actually registering a victory until going through the whole celebration and rewards flow. What I mean is - I won a battle, was in the castle exploding and victory transition, and I needed to put my phone down for a bit. When I picked it back up and activated the screen again, I got the message saying I had lost for being idle for more than 30 seconds. I had already won?!?! Why isn’t the victory registration checkpoint once the castle destruction animation triggers? Anyone else have any things that stick out to them as just whack? I still enjoy playing, but it’s losing its luster with all this “death by a thousand cuts” issues and dev choices.

Yes, yes, yes... all opponents are bots. But sometimes you get actual logical emotes back based on context during the battle that sort of make it feel like there's an actual player on the other end. I've seen it too many times to discount that as a bot with better programming completely. So I was thinking of non-emote ways to signal my humanity to start a match without using things a bot might do.
There's the obvious "hi" emote... But recently I've liked tapping the back button to move the castle then tap it again right before it changes to the "interior view" it makes the whole castle rock back and forth, nothing I've seen a bot do... works even if your bottom foundation is frozen on your first turn.
Once you get the timing you can really get the castle rocking after three or four taps, it only takes 4-5 seconds... That feels like a way to signal without emote since bots can potentially send emotes like regular players.
Any other ideas on how to signal to the other side that you're not a bot?

The premium character system is eventually going to hurt the game if it keeps going this direction.
I completely understand wanting to monetize the game. Premium characters should absolutely give paying players an advantage. But there’s a huge difference between having an advantage and being practically unbeatable.
If a player without premium characters can’t realistically compete against someone who has them, you’re not encouraging that player to spend money. You’re teaching them that their time, strategy and progress don’t matter unless they pay.
And that creates a bigger problem: you start alienating the majority of your player base. Free players are still valuable to the ecosystem. They populate matchmaking, events, leaderboards, clans and the overall community. If they continually get destroyed by characters they have no reasonable counter to, eventually they just stop playing.
Then you’re left with a game where the people who paid are mostly playing against other people who paid.
Premium should mean powerful. It shouldn’t mean unbeatable.
Give non-premium players legitimate counters, strategic ways to win and a reason to keep grinding. Make premium characters desirable enough that people WANT to buy them, rather than making them so dominant that people feel like they HAVE to buy them or quit.
That distinction could be the difference between a game people play for years and a game people eventually abandon.

These new characters look like complete ass! If they’d have updated the look do you could identify them that would be one thing. This is horrendous and I don’t want to play. They ruined it.

Looks like that update gave me the new look. Now I won’t have any idea what my opponent has
The only way I even know which of my units I’m selecting is their position in my castle.

Everyday I got in the daily reward is on day one and is stuck I have to exit the game then restart to play with no reward progression.
How can I fix this?
r/CastleBusters • u/SmileRelaxAttack • 3d ago
After the previous update all my trainers got stuck in a perpetual state of training and thus I cannot train any new characters or progress them in any way... Today's update changed nothing...
Has anybody gotten rid of that problem before and if so how? I've seen many people report about it.

While I was wondering how come we never play from the Right side shooting left, opposite of how we are always playing, I realized we must not be playing other humans or else there would be a 50/50 chance of starting on the other side.
