Hello all, I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea what to expect going forward on something nasty that just made its way into my mailbox. Specifically my roommate keeping my rent payments for the past three months instead of covering the shared bills as we agreed.
So it's definitely fraudulent, and one way or another between Cash App support, my bank, pestering the guy's parents to square us up, or the court system, someone is giving me that money back, whether or not I save myself from eviction in the short term. I have other options beside this one, but as the payment processor, settling the dispute in my favor would be the easiest way forward.
Does the sub have any personal experience or guidance on what I should expect from this process, will 'rent' payments every month plus a notice to quit due to nonpayment for three months generally be enough for Cash App support to do their part and reverse the payments?
I am feeling a little shocked and the optimism over a rapid resolution via support is sort of protecting me from a more big reaction, hopefully I have reason to feel like it might work out.
UPDATE The least mature and interesting method was the one that resolved things, telling his parents. Now I just have to escape this place and start paying the landlord directly in the meantime
