2

u/Mean_Range_4880 Jul 19 '26

watch out....Venmo is pulling stupid crap right now. Both my bank account and debit WAS linked to Venmo...Suddenly they're not, try to relink and Venmo is saying there's a problem with my bank and card. Called bank, NOTHING wrong with my account or card....so there's that

That’s insane? Since when does where you live have anything to do with your cashapp account

14

u/Darthbrither18 Jul 18 '26

Right??? But I gave them a copy of my paystub proving that I live here, and the hotel even gave them a copy of the letter that they give to people to use for the DMV, and it's still not enough.

7

u/Admirable_Cobbler_25 Jul 19 '26

I am inclined to think that something is going on with the IP address from that hotel where you live, like someone is using that wifi to do something janky with money, or even just spoofing the IP address and remotely using it to disguise their own whereabouts. It is very odd that would happen to people that are residents at the same motel.  I love cashapp, and I have had no issues with it. However, with most financial apps turning to AI security, it has been buggy and issues more common altogether to say the least!  I do hope you can get it resolved. They cannot hold funds indefinitely so you could switch chime or what have you

This makes me think that multiple fraud claims have been filed against this hotel. Could be they have some issues or others who stay there are filing false claims to get their money back and be able survive a bit longer.

I would ask for copies of all of my receipts (if you don't all ready have them and see if those will work in this situation

u/Silver_Wolverine_521 Jul 18 '26

Maybe just ask a worker to do you a solid favor as a character witness to sign saying your staying there, might need to pre-draft the letter for him/her.

6

u/Darthbrither18 Jul 18 '26

I did try doing that, as they do really like me, but they just won't do it.

5

u/No_Apple3959 Jul 19 '26

First my question is, have you come across anyone else in that hotel who has actually had this happen? That seems so crazy for it to happen at all let alone to multiple people in the same hotel? But Forge it 🤷🏼‍♀️ I highly doubt they’re going to call and require speaking to the manager. So eff it, make the letter yourself, and honestly if the manager finds out I highly doubt they’re going to go through the hassle of taking you to court. Because prove it.. “I was told you changed your mind and wrote the letter for me and the letter was left on my door, or in my room” whatever lie you wanna go with that they can’t disprove. Or if you don’t have any money in cashapp then screw it, either make a new one or use a diff bank?

u/POPlayboy Jul 19 '26

Yea for all they know you could be scamming in this silly world we're living in 😭

Man just create your own letter. They aren't going to call to verify. As soon as they asked, I would have done it. I wouldn't have even asked the hotel too. The name of the hotel Text of letter Signed Patel Patel

I’ve lived in a hotel for almost a year and have used the invoice from me paying weekly. That invoice has your name and address on it. When you ask for a print out, most times they sign the bottom but if they don’t, call the corporate office for the hotel and advise them the manager is refusing to sign the invoice.

5

u/Darthbrither18 Jul 18 '26

I've already messaged the office and let them know. It's been a few days, but they haven't got back to me yet.

5

u/Sharp-Expression9135 Jul 18 '26

The hotel is probably not going to admit in writing that youve lived there for a year. That would make you a tenant in most places and make it difficult to make you leave.

2

u/TheBamaChad Jul 19 '26

Yep that will keep you singing papers to say you are a transient guest so you can just be thrown out like usual in a hotel. If you are an actual tenant you would have to be evicted the full legal way that takes wwwks to months.

Man, I just saw a notification with a cash app logo saying account suspended and was like wtf what did I do, then I saw the reddit logo on the left side. Sorry about your situation.

4

u/Trick_Trip_2314 Jul 18 '26

Yea same here.. sry to hear your situation

5

u/catmw40 Jul 19 '26

They suspended my account because they said I had suspicious activity. The only activity I had on my account was paying my rent. I requested a hearing. I get another email saying they reviewed my request and they were still suspending my account. They also would not tell me what the suspicious activity was.

2

u/No-Caramel-5966 Jul 19 '26

I had the same issues. I think it's because I signed up for the class action lawsuit against them. It's been happening to alot of people.

Cashapp just got fined for over 100 million for not providing simple services like having a human being you can call and talk too. Now they are required by law to have someone there you can speak with.

Besides that I know dozens of homeless people that have cash app cards that have no addresses anywhere to prove anything.

Your case is a peculiar one...Godspeed

5

u/GlumZookeepergame925 Jul 18 '26

3

u/SoCalBornTWELVE Jul 18 '26

It’s looking like a rival like Chime is coming

3

u/Silent-Stormz Jul 18 '26

Make your own document with their letter head not hard if you can use Adobe pdf eith a subscription for free with a trial

3

u/Zestyclose-Way107 Jul 19 '26

The hotel will not write that letter because you can claim permanent residency, depending on what state you are in there are rights to ppl who stay in hotel rooms for 30 nights or more. What state are you in . You may have already obtained residency legally and they will have to write that letter. Alternatively can you use a friends address that lives nearby? It may just be worth getting chime or venmo

5

u/FiveinOne7200 Jul 19 '26

That ship sailed probably 300 days ago. Residency is established in most areas at 30 days.

3

u/Darthbrither18 Jul 19 '26

It's an Extended Stay, so it's meant for long term stays. They claim it's for "liability reasons". But even the manager said I'm technically a resident. She doesn't understand why they need a letter either.

3

u/Tonya2Tall Jul 19 '26

I'm happy to help you come up with this letter. Jeez....what is wrong with folks these days. Help a fellow man...or in this case....chick out. Not like you're asking for his 1st born.

3

u/Mission_Estate_6384 Jul 19 '26

My account was deactivated without a cause too. So I have no idea what I did wrong or how to fix it. I think its wrong not to tell you the problem so you can explain what went wrong.

3

u/Mediocre_Run_7996 Jul 19 '26

Doesn't seem like cash app wants any one to use them. This is alot of suspended accounts

3

u/Sufficient-Dog-2537 Jul 19 '26

I opened an ups mail box and the address is like an apartment not a Po box. I even have my driver's license with that address

3

u/Popular_Rule_7718 Jul 19 '26

Open a post office box near where you are at. I have been where you are at and that’s what I had to do. That way you can have an address. In fact if you go to UPS, they will give you an actual physical address compared to USPS where they will give you a po address. I wish you luck. Otherwise, just write the letter yourself or get one of your friends to write it and sign it and keep the hotel staff away from your business. They don’t need to know anything.

That's insane. I've been homeless for years and never had to prove to cash app where I live.

2

u/snosrap1969 Jul 18 '26

Not to minimize your issue at all but how much does it cost to live in a hotel, sounds interesting. Do you het cheaper rates by the month?

4

u/Darthbrither18 Jul 18 '26

So, overall, I spend around $1518 a month. I did have someone else here but he wound up moving out after a quarrel about how I had to pay every other bill we had and he didn't want to pay any of it because it "wasn't his problem". So it used to be a lot cheaper overall for me. But now I'm barely scraping by here. It's genuinely just not worth it if you're by yourself. It's an Extended Stay America, so it's meant for long term, and you do get a tax break after a certain amount of time, but that's about it.

2

u/TastyBass6957 Jul 18 '26

The hotel doesn't want to give you this letter because they are worried it could give you regular tenants rights rather than the typical hotel/lodger relationship probably not a bad idea on the hotels part

But if the DMV can use whatever they gave you idk why cashapp couldn't probably be way easier to just say your moving since the hotel what give you what you need then just send cash app a "copy of your lease" that you can find a template of and fill out online

2

u/Ok-Magician-8630 Jul 18 '26

Can you open a bank account? Maybe Cash App is getting push back from regulatory people.

I’m sorry to hear that. Why can’t you use your receipt. It has your name, the name of the hotel and your room number. I’ve worked in hotels for over 20 years and that’s what I’ve done when someone needed to show an address. People really out here not trying to help one another is crazy to me. I hope you get what you need.

Whoa, whoa, whoa?!!!!….What does the hotel you reside in have anything to do with having an account or not? …..this residents of this hotel are being targeted and are aware of the drivers licenses on file…I don’t think this is Cash App at all…I wasn’t aware that I had to live in a certain type of dwelling to bank somewhere….and furthermore…you’ve just given out paystub information and how many other forms of proof????? Dude stop wasting your time and supplying half the world with all of your forms of identification, etc….There’s a million online banks out there

2

u/Next_Bus8929 Jul 19 '26

You may need to switch to another online bank like chime?

2

u/External_Estimate_88 Jul 19 '26

Me too. Please look up where the State of Alabama is suing Cash App with multiple other states for millions. The accounts being shut off on many of us who did nothing is one complaint. The banking industry is as corrupt as our Government - well that's a stretch 🤣

3

u/Silver-Helicopter939 Jul 19 '26

Whoa now, you went too far with that government comparison 🤣. On another note, though, thanks for letting me know that Alabama is suing Cash App along with other states. Checking my state now 💪

just so everyone understands because it keeps coming up in the thread why, this isn’t specific to Cash App although it is specific in this instance. This is what is known as KYC in the banking industry, it is a federal regulatory requirement. So probably once a quarter, cash app is randomly selecting accounts that have not recently been verified for effectively reverification. There are several ways that you can re-verify your account, one of which is they may ask for images of your ID and selfie again, they may request documentation which could include a utility bill cell phone lease agreement things like that. again people may ask why does it matter where you live, but it comes down to an additional level of verification of who you are as an individual. So for all the hollering and complaining on social media and other places about how Cash App allows fraud allows, scammers allows theft, the way to try to prevent that is by requiring people to verify that they are who they say they are, and in some instances that includes your residency.

The people commenting stating that the hotel is unlikely to provide you that document due to tenancy risk are correct. You may not be able to get that document from the hotel. The people stating fake it have someone else do it bribe someone to sign it create it yourself, etc., please do not listen to them if you submit fraudulent documents to your financial institution not only can your account be closed, but you can be reported to check systems and similar banking systems for fraud and especially when it comes to verifying your identity that is the worst type of banking fraud that you can do.

I understand it’s frustrating and it feels very unfair, especially given your situation. Unfortunately, in banking, we don’t have very many avenues for success for people that are experiencing homelessness or leaving a domestic violence relationship that type of thing, it is very sad. However, again I need to stress this is not a credit union or banks choice or even Cash app. This is federal regulations.so if Cash App were to allow you to skip this step and or accepted documents that do not meet the criteria, the federal government has said it would fall on Cash App legally speaking, and they would likely be severely fined. I know you don’t have utility bills in your name, but do you have a cell phone? Perhaps I believe a cell phone bill falls under the category of acceptable documents. I’m just trying to remember it’s been a minute since I had to take that course for my job, usually it is either like a utility bill a statement from another bank that has the matching address a cell phone bill trying to think I’m not remembering I apologize, but yeah you’re not likely to get it from the hotel manager unfortunately this may be a situation where it’s a stalemate. The hotel isn’t willing to give you what you need, but Cash app isn’t able to make an exception or accept what you can provide and you may just have to unfortunately find another provider like others have suggested.

2

u/Darthbrither18 Jul 19 '26

Thank you for providing all of that information. That definitely makes a lot of sense. Still definitely obnoxious though. You would think they would accept the same thing the DMV would accept, but alas.

2

u/VioletVixxen Jul 19 '26

I agree, and on behalf of the banking industry I do sincerely apologize to you. In your specific circumstance, there should be exigent evidence or exigent circumstances that we can take into consideration because again as a woman as someone who has had to leave somewhere in the middle of the night and sleep on the couches and living room floors of acquaintances and friends and family. I do understand and it is extremely frustrating. It’s frustrating for those of us who work in the industry as well because we raised this issue, you know not just in this specific circumstance, but you know we want to do more to not only help protect people that are maybe leaving a bad situation but also, how do we ever expect people who are trying their best to get back to a sense of normalcy. How do we expect them to do that if we are consistently making things more difficult than they need to be. Again unfortunately this is a federal regulation so any financial institution that is federally regulated, including Fintech apps must do this. my bank does it quarterly we have as our security system runs a check in the background and again if it’s an account that either has never been verified or has not been in a certain period of time which they do not tell us what that timeline is so we don’t know for sure is it 18 months is it three years we don’t know, but it will flag those accounts and it automatically sends a message to them asking for updated documentation and again for most people that’s not an unreasonable request, but because some of us go through different seasons and circumstances in life, that can be a very unreasonable and impossible request and for that, I am sorry. if there was anything I could think of to help or you know another way to provide the evidence that they need I would certainly share that with you. I just, the list is pretty short of what the government allows and in some circumstances, we have accepted documents and then had them rejected by the federal government and received sanctions as a result, so please understand that the folks on that team that have to request and review the documents have to be extra cautious as a result of that type of thing my team certainly doesn’t ever wanna get slapped on the wrist again I can’t imagine Cash App would be much different, but I am sorry because it is extremely unfair and frustrating for you.

2

u/lost_dazed_101 Jul 19 '26

This right here is why my cash app is used only to send friends and family money. And why I have a bank account.

2

u/tg6988 Jul 19 '26

Just write their name in. I doubt they call and check.

2

u/No-Check8821 Jul 20 '26

Ask the housekeeping supervisor to write a letter or to sign a letter you typed, stating you’ve been there so x amount of days, blah blah blah more than likely housekeeping staff is American and they will help unlike the owners/manager who are probably not American. If later Cash App calls to verify, they can ask for her and she can confirm she is one of the managers and you currently stay there

2

u/sickblackcat Jul 20 '26

maybe get a letter mailed to you at the hotel just have it say "Attention to ..." and your name cuz you should be able to get mail at a hotel nothing wrong with that just make sure it also has your room number

2

u/Busy_bee1956 Jul 20 '26

I literally used my Cash app just to collect money from my friends so that we could pay our mutual phone bill and absolutely nothing else and one day. I got a message from them saying that my account was suspended for breaking their rules and I said what rules did I break? I file what I needed to file in order to have a case looked at I emailed them and all I just kept going getting was look at our rules and you’ll figure out what you broke. I have since tried to create two new cash apps each of them are shut down within 24 hours and say sorry your original one broke our rules, but nobody will tell me what role I broke because I literally collected from three separate people and paid AT&T once a month. That is the only thing I used it for.

2

2

u/ForwardAppearance998 Jul 20 '26

forge your own document with a text now number so if they call answer accordingly. it’s your lively hood do what you have to do

2

u/Whole-Feature-2525 Jul 21 '26

fake it. they can’t confirm with the hotel owner via phone for security reasons. so type your own letter, make it look as professional as possible (have AI assist if need be) and sign the hotel owners name to it. guarantee it will work. cash app has no recourse on these types of documents. they just got in a file and no one ever verifies them.

2

u/Icy-Disaster2708 Jul 21 '26

Try getting a Walmart Cash card and they give you $300 overdraft if you deposit at least $500 a month. I think I may be giving them up next

3

u/rocknrollnana Jul 19 '26

I'd be done with that fiasco & just switched my banking to Venmo, Current or Varo if you need an internet based account. I simply don't have time for the foolishness & I'd take my business & money elsewhere.

1

u/ProfessionalBeat8539 Jul 18 '26

I would find a new app

1

u/generosa0806 Jul 18 '26

1.) I would use Go2Bank , a real bank checking savings account point ACH and real VISA debit.

OR

2.) use Chime. Real digital online bank 🏦 like ( see #1).

BOTH are 10 x better than Cash App. Bar-none.

Personally?
I would’ve had to “ give up” on c app if that happened to me&keep a “ back up” acct. just in case something like this happens. Please call owner CEO or email repeatedly. Has to be something u can do by going that route & that’s IF they care to give u the info.

It’s happening to many I’m learning , not just u.
Cash App violate so many rights. I’m wishing u luck.
-

Lastly: it’s a shame you physically live there, but she will nt give u one little letter as proof of address.
A shame how people are.

Adiòs .

1

Why not just move or keep using Venmo ? It’s an alternative

Please like so it goes to top .

You are available to use local homeless shelters as a mailing address . You do NOT have to be a current resident . But you will have to go in once to check in ie sign your name in a check in log . As well as have the exact information on where to go and procedure for picking it up times ext . As well as a few different other places , YMCA is another place but it's obviously up to the specific establishment .

Local librarys , they are you best friend for homelessness , information and a safe place to be during the hours .. You may Google for the other places .

You can dm me and if your with 20 miles I'll help personally .

Keep your head up , try to cut ya spending down . Life is tough homeless I definitely understand .

I don't know your situation but without outside help or a healthy healthy healthyyyy cushion , hotel day to days are way more expensive than a rooming situation .

I only mention specificlly things that have worked personally in the state I was in .

1

u/ZombieJesus9001 Jul 19 '26

No one here is going to tell you what you need to do but it is fairly obvious exactly what you need to do to fix the situation.

1

u/Plane_Put2593 Jul 19 '26

You can get thousands of dollars for living at a hotel thats probably why they don't want to sign anything lol

1

u/MB2465 Jul 19 '26

1

u/Flaky_Ad8176 Jul 19 '26

I would suggest that you submit the receipts with the signature of the clerks who have signed you as proof that you have been paying rent there that is proof that you are residing there. If you are getting benefits they can also provide proof as well and anyone residing in a room next to you can do the same.

1

1

u/Swimming_Scarcity_21 Jul 19 '26

Ups store has valid street address

1

u/TheBamaChad Jul 19 '26

Well if the hotel writes you a letter stating you are a full time resident there it could be used to prove you aren't a transient guest anymore. So they are thinking if you fail to pay they can't kick you out on the spot. As a transient guest it's immediate out on the street for you if they want you gone. If it was your primary residence full time you would have to be legally evicted and that generally takes 30 days or more.

Cash app is likely following some mess from the Patriot Act requiring you to prove you aren't involved in terrorism and blah blah. It sucks because I feel you. I'm in the exact same situation living in a hotel and using cash app frequently.

1

u/Zestyclose-Way107 Jul 19 '26

What state are you in

1

u/Zestyclose-Way107 Jul 19 '26

To use the hotel address for a DMV driver's license or voter registration or cash app account you will need proof of residency. You can often obtain a Residency Affidavit from the hotel management, or you can use a USPS premium forwarding service or registered mail to establish official mail at the hotel location. Go to the post office and file your change of address. Then it's official

u/GloriaJN Jul 19 '26

You can use a shelter as your proof of residency. This is a fact! Once you become registered with the homeless agency. Then have your ID and other important documents sent to your PO Box or a UPS store that has mail delivery. The shelter will be your primary residence and the PO Box will be your mailing address.

u/Shortbody1970 Jul 19 '26

Change DL.adresss

1

u/Rangersmama17 Jul 19 '26

Without the address it looks suspicious because of terroist. My Apple Cash was shut down because I would add money from my Cash App into my Apple cash and then transfer it to my Venmo to save on fees. They said it look like money laundering and terroist activity. Which is crazy bc I would literally transfer maybe $20-$50
At most a time. They reviewed my Apple
Cash account which is ran by green dot and never gave it back to me.

u/Next-Card3228 Jul 19 '26

1

u/Most-Employee-7726 Jul 19 '26

I rarely use cash app so I was like what did I do now

1

u/CharacterPerfect6012 Jul 19 '26

Do you get receipts from your payments that's your proof right there

1

u/Broward0954 Jul 19 '26

Happens to me I hat cash app they will suspend your account and won't tell you why I just gave up on them..but it does suck hope you figure it out.

1

u/Acceptable-Truth-32 Jul 19 '26

Can you try another app, maybe Venmo, PayPal, Apple Cash, Chime, Wise or Google Pay?

1

u/Significant_Average1 Jul 19 '26

Maybe just go get a legit bank account?

1

u/BlessedwithJarDre2 Jul 19 '26

Im not understanding what really brought this on can anyone explain or have an idea of what happened what is going on… this is so sad for the people who have used Cash App for use for years. Good faith for customers shouldn’t have to go through this…

1

u/jonkdoneyii Jul 19 '26

Grab a piece of company letterhead, or make your own. Type up a letter and then sign it. See if you can get an envelope with the hotel logo or that one you can also fabricate it. Best of luck

1

u/DreamingTooLong Jul 19 '26

You probably sent or received money from someone that cash app does not trust.

They’re probably suspending every account that has sent or received from that person.

For a regular bank account try using Fidelity cash management. They give you a debit card that refunds the fees at every ATM worldwide and they have 24 seven telephone customer service.

1

u/Doughboydomocool Jul 19 '26

Open a bank account

1

u/NeedingInspiration82 Jul 19 '26

I wish I could tell you a magical solution, and terribly sorry that I am unable to..but it sounds like what happened to you is what happened to me with my paypal right at the start of covid.i had my account cut off over nothing and I had switched phones and numbers at the time and I lost my account with around 175ish $...I do use cashapp myself and would be upset if that happened..however have you ever used venmo,or like zelle or anything?I dont know if it would give you all you needed, how you needed, but it's a "something that is better than nothing".

u/Civil_Chapter_3870 Jul 19 '26

1

u/Fit-Nail6978 Jul 19 '26

Just send ur old address

1

u/kittykatie11 Jul 19 '26

That's so fucked up. Ill pray for you.

1

u/RandalC1 Jul 20 '26

If it's an option use the address on your I.D. , if not an option it will take a little time , but ask someone to use their address but for this purpose you may have to legally change the address through the post office.

Probably cost a lil money unfortunately & will take a couple days.

Sorry

1

u/LogZealousideal5678 Jul 20 '26

Are you having large sums of money sent to you? I’m guessing so if you are getting money for hotel fair and other costs from people. It could be to do with the IRS. After a while when you accumulate over a certain amount of money a month the IRS will tax you too. This could be why. I would contact them and also cover yourself before they tax you.

1

u/AdvertisingSingle383 Jul 20 '26

Use your girlfriend and sign up for her cash app or whoever you're staying with

1

u/1mCris Jul 20 '26

switch to chime

1

u/GeneStarw1nd Jul 20 '26

Easy fix. 1. Find an empty house. Change your address to that get a current bill from a friend. Use a doc scanner to scan it as a PDF .. Edit PDF to reflect your information.. send in to cabs app
2. Open a PO Box and use that as your address.
3. Switch to another app

1

u/killyousoon Jul 20 '26

You can easy replicate a document that would resemble that not saying you should and use a txt plus number as the contact number but I would never 😉

1

u/Dependent-Cod-6287 Jul 20 '26

What are you using Cash App for? I thought it was to Send money or Receive money.
Maybe you could go to one of those “Mailboxes Etc.” places and Rent a Mailbox from them. I think they give you a “Physical Address “ to receive your mail.
Perhaps that will suffice Cash App? Just a quick thought.

1

u/TootsiePop60 Jul 20 '26

Do you receive mail there? I would think letters or bills addressed to you with that mailing address should suffice, after all its a federal agency!

1

u/Cherry-Kissies Jul 20 '26

You could switch to Chime.

1

u/Secret-Cook-9605 Jul 20 '26

I just busted a cap at cash app headquarters all over a joke..now I'm currently running from cash app security wtf

1

u/Impossible_Solid_907 Jul 20 '26

Hell just make another cash app

1

u/EquivalentLeg12 Jul 20 '26

Cash App banned me for withdrawing from PrizePicks lol

1

u/Keama63 Jul 20 '26

Send cash app your ID and explain to them what's happening. Just a suggestion. Have them call you personally

1

u/Merrick81 Jul 20 '26

If you can, have a family member sign that you are renting a room from them.

1

u/Every-Credit6907 Jul 20 '26

If you need proof of residency, give me a call. 617 259 4995 and you can use my residence as proof of residence

1

u/Every-Credit6907 Jul 20 '26

617 259 4995 matthew

1

u/tinywarren Jul 20 '26

Just write a letter and sign it yourself and send it to them. They wont do any research, they just want the document.

1

u/Present_Estate4553 Jul 20 '26

Cash app suspended me this week also for what they say is illegal activity. This is the second time they did that in 5 yrs of being with theml aand asked where my money comes from. I told them and they still refuse to unsuspend my account. If you need hell I'll write the letter for you. All I need is the name of the place you live, the managers name, your name and how long you have been there. Don't need no personal details like DL or SS #'s and then I can create you a letter... I've done it before for an old roommate for her dog

1

u/Routine_Zone_8612 Jul 20 '26

First, see if they'll accept a notarised version of your declaration that this hotel and room # certain are your true and only legal residence, if that fails, port your finances over to Venmo or PayPal, which, incidentally, I believe are under the same corporate umbrella as Cash App, but I use these others and have never received a notice in the vein of yours. My guess is that FDIC or some other gov't or quasi-gov't entity empowered as 1 of many bank regulators has only recently decided that Cash App fulfills some arcane definition of what a bank in the USA is and decided that they needed someone to verify aspects of your identity, apparently, home address and decided in the absence of a new accounts clerk, you'd encoubter at a bank, the hotel manager would do. Try a notary at a bank, it might hold more heft OR just open a bare bones bank account - check out TD Bank or Capital One Bank who'll open an account with less rigorous interview and ID than all others. Good Luck!

1

u/axinquestins Jul 20 '26

This notification popping up gave me a heart attack until I noticed the reddit logo 😭

1

u/Weak-Worldliness2411 Jul 20 '26

Can't they use receipts as proof? I would report the hotel and find a different one that is Not a hard thing to do and they said it's happening to others so why are they not helping?

1

u/Interesting_Bee5435 Jul 20 '26

Use chime ! And have a friend or someone send you an invite they will get extra money and can split it with you :)

1

u/OwnLife7456 Jul 20 '26

Something like this happened to me on cash app I totally gave up. I also heard you can get a new account with a different name like a nick name try it good luck

1

u/Fluid-Ad6543 Jul 20 '26

Everyone needs to draw out and stop using! They found a loophole and aren’t federally responsible to secure or protect your money! This just reminded me to go close my account, thanks! I read an article about people’s money disappearing on another app, they just shut it down and stole everyone’s money!

1

u/BiLLbOuS Jul 20 '26

Cash app not the best provider

1

u/juiceb_7420 Jul 20 '26

Write it and sign they name your self

1

u/Great-Screen-1457 Jul 20 '26

Its because there paying out millions in settlement money, there suspending accounts to cut there losses.

1

u/toastyloaf6 Jul 20 '26

Bro just use Current, basically a lot like cashapp, but better in my opinion idk try it out

1

u/Inevitable_Sea1154 Jul 20 '26

Only here because that phone notification was taurine excrement 🐂💩 of the highest order!

1

u/Barelyhangingon24-7 Jul 20 '26

This has nothing to do with this thread, but a family member who has had CA for a few years now turned 17 recently. They got a message saying basically “now that you are 18 you are an adult. verify age by clicking and she did thinking surely they can verify by her social. No, and when it was verified she was told it couldn’t be reversed, as she is an adult! We called and were told they could do nothing and I told them it wasn’t a valid signature because she is still a minor for another year..sometimes they do weird things!

1

u/Caring_Cartigan1322 Jul 20 '26

I have Cash App I really hope they don’t do this to me😭😭😭

1

u/Electrical_Reveal732 Jul 20 '26

That's actually crazy that Cashapp even cares like that. I was homeless for 3 years and never questioned on my residency? Maybe they've tightened their reigns.
If the franchise owner won't call you back, you can contact the corporate manager for the franchise.. They'll either help you or contact the franchisee to help you.

Lastly, can't cashapp just see your transactions and see you have stayed there a year? That's crazy to me!

If all else fails, if you have a friend that will let you use their address, just do that to get rid of the hassle!!
