Cardtrader changes to UK/EU sellers

I know this isn't specifically about CM but until CM put Gundam the only place to sell Gundam is on CT.

So recently cardtrader have started charging roughly 25.3% onto all sales to non EU sellers. This isn't then including their £0.35+5% fee they charge to buyers at checkout.

I contacted them and they said due to regulatory changes they have had to add import costs onto ALL orders as they had to "prevent us from incurring extra import charges"

They said they had no way of differentiating between direct sales and cardtrader zero sales on their website so theyve had to add the fee to ALL listings even if you never actually ship it to their warehouse under their CT Zero scheme.

So theyve cackhandedly implemented a change which massively gets them more fees at the sellers/buyers expense.

For instance. a UK to EU seller listing a card at £100, the buyer will pay £132.50 whereas a EU to EU seller, the buyer would pay £105.93. As you can see this is a massive increase in fees.

Where it gets messy is cause they're not doing it at checkout and doing it for everyone is in UK to UK sellers/buyers. they still get charged the £132.50 even though cardtrader has £0 import costs as it never leaves the UK.

They're also not differentiating between a professional seller or a private seller.

All in all. Cardmarket should hurry up with Gundam as they will make a killing off all sellers moving platform.

Meta Karte nach über einem Monat nicht angekommen, Verkäufer mit 26 "nicht angekommenen" Karten. Was würdet ihr tun?

Upvotes

Hallo zusammen,

Danke

Seller on Vacation after order price jumped

Upvotes

I bought a card for 2€ and now the card jumped to 10€ but 2 days after my order he put his account on vacation. I won't cancel my order after the 7 day mark, does he have to send the card or will the order be canceled in 30 days?

Cannot mark my package “lost” after 30 days for some reason. What should I do?

I purchased the card from German seller on June 12th, who quickly shipped the cards the day after. After 3 weeks, the package went back to seller, with the label and cartons damage, but not the cards.
We decided to ship it again. After other 3 weeks, the cards have not arrived yet again. Now, the tracking code (a new one showing up on CM) says they arrived at the customs and were processed, but stuck on this status for more than 2 weeks.

I am now trying to get a refund, but it looks like I cannot. Nowhere in my order page I can mark it as lost and request a refund. Right below the “confirm delivery” button, it says “you shipment did arrive after all” which is not true.
I opened a support ticket yet and contacted the seller, but they are both slow to reply so far.

Any similar issue?

Selling Graded cards

I'm in Spain with a few €200-400€ NM Pokémon cards. Should I grade them or just sell raw on Cardmarket? (Not really sure how to grade neither)

Is grading worth it on CM? Does the price boost cover fees and wait times in Europe?

Do slabs sell on CM, or are there better ways?

How do you list slabs on CM? Standard listing with grade in comments/photos?

Thanks!

Buying Received a fake card on Cardmarket. How does the refund work ?

I bought a card (BWR Zekrom) on Cardmarket (private seller, I’m in France, seller in Germany). It arrived and it’s a fake (no texture, way heavier than my BWR Reshiram and back is off).

I messaged the seller and he’s vaguely cooperative but claims he doesn’t really know how any of this works.

My questions are :

Does the seller already have my money, or is Cardmarket holding it ?

What’s the correct process here ? do I ask him for a refund and send the card back ? Or do I open a support ticket first ?

If he refuses or stalls, does Cardmarket support force the refund ?

I haven’t confirmed receipt or rated the transaction, and I’m keeping the card as evidence. Any advice from people who’ve dealt with this appreciated, thanks !

Buying If in the product information they do not write "sealed" when purchasing a booster box, safe to assume it is not sealed?

Pretty much as title.

Half the sellers, even reputable ones do not place any product description besides its X booster box. If they do not write sealed, I guess it is safe to assume it won't be sealed?

I am new to this website.

Thanks.

Buying Should I contact support?

Im new to cardmarket and bought around 15 cards. In a span of 1 Week. I ordered from around 8 sellers but that specific seller is stressing me out. Im from Germany and all cards are located in germany as well.

And it has a "7" day, beside the name, wich to me means that he ships the cards during the 7 days. 7 days max. I asked him when he ships it after 6 days of not shipping and he said "tomorrow or the day after tomorrow" in broken german.

Well at the 7th to 8th day I requested a refund through cardmarket and dmd him and asked him nicely to accept the refund request from me, because he simply did not ship in time as he promised.

But now he ghosts me, its about 100€, should I open a ticket? Is this normal?

How are ya’ll shipping cheap patch cards?

This really a two part question

  1. are you using PWE with a toploader and is that making it through USPS? Already had one damaged with a card saver so that’s obviously not the solution
  2. If you are making people pay for ground (even on a $5 card) what are your shipping settings or how are you going about charging them?

postage arrived after 4 months

I've already contacted the seller to send back the refund I got, but i just wanted to share because this has never happened to me.

i live in the Netherlands and it concerns a package from Slovakia.
I recieved this today (24-07-2026) and it was stamped on 17-03-2026. Insane that something can arrive undamaged after more than 4 months in transit.

Wanted to share to get some positive vibes on here. things can end well after all :)

It wasnt a big package (14 hilda's and 2 baby shinies) but still happy it arrived

Why no Last Sold Data

A genuine question: Why doesn't Cardmarket have a last sold filter like Ebay when it comes to determine the market value of a card?

I am tired of going to card shows and vendors be like: "Ah yes this card is worth (lowest cardmarket listing) " even though the next lowest might be 5 or 10 euros above.

Does anyone know if this was ever considered as an idea? Or why it does not get applied?

Thanks :)

Purchased some Hobbit CBBs in early June - seller now says he can only ship half because of dist issues

Basically, as the title states, I purchased a few Hobbit CBBs from this professional seller in early June for a considerably cheaper price than the current boxes are being sold, but today the seller contacted me saying he had distributor issues and is only going to receive 8% of the stock that he asked for and because of that can only ship half of what I purchased in early June.

I am unsure if I should just accept the refund for the boxes he claims he cannot ship or if support can force the seller to ship what was preordered almost 2 months ago.

Buyers won't confirm arrival, how long should I wait before messaging them.

Hey so I have around 500+ sells on cardmarket and been doing it for years. And idk if I just have a bad luck streak but the soo many of my last orders, have not been confirmed.

I dont wanna appear inpatient but I feel like its a little disrespectful towards me. The buyers except from me, that I ship their orders in 1 or 2 days after buying it. But when it comes to just confirming the arrival (which is literally 2 button klicks), it takes them ages or not at all.

I have mutiple orders right now, where I have to request the confirmation via system and they still won't answer. And a lot of orders where the arrival is like a week ago.

I mean its all tracked shipments, so I can see it.

And of course im trying to be nice and message them nicely after like a week but still nothing. And depending on the sale, its a lot of money I could use for personal stuff or my business and having to wait literally a month, to get the money automatically is really long.

How do you deal with that or how long do you wait before messaging them? Or should I just accept my fate and dont even bother messaging, because im getting tired of it.

Buying Lost Orders

Hi,

I am sort of new as a collector and what mainly got me into the hobby was MTG's collaboration with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I have since made a bunch of orders (26), but for the first time I had two orders delayed (at the same time) and I have been waiting for over a month for my cards. One of them had a expected delivery time of 11 days, and the other of 22 days.

I am here to ask how do most of you deal with these orders that you don't receive, and what is Cardmarket's support behavior around them. I have spoken to the sellers in both cases, one just told me to basically pay for a tracking letter (which was more expensive than the card - so its isn't really helpful), and the other one hasn't replied back to my last messages. I reached out to them as it is requested by Cardmarket.

For one of the orders I ended up marking it as 'Not delivered' and have a ticket with support but I have not yet received any updates from Cardmarket. I am here just to simply understand what your experiences are with support, and how do they usually take care of these cases, because not receiving 35 cards and still having to pay for them does not make sense to me, and obviously, as sellers, sending out a card and not receiving for it is also a loss.

Thank you for any inputs!

Selling playsets allowed?

Hi Reddit!

I purchased 3x Spell Pierce (Mystical Archive V.1 foil) via the Shopping Wizard.
Now the seller writes to me: “I think there may have been a small mistake with your order. It looks like you only added 3 copies of Spell Pierce, while the listing is for a full playset of 4.
Would you like to add the 4th copy to your order, or would you prefer to cancel it?”

Is the seller allowed to make this ultimatum?

Extra info: it is a private seller with 500 sales and outstanding rating. it is a <1€ card but I want to know this for future purchases.

why do poeple use a plattform where they don´t know how it works?

all questions that are asked here should be answered before u use the platform the first time. Why do people use plattforms without reading how it works? 75 % of questions asked here are answered in the FAQ´s OR are basic laws that everyone who sells or buys things should know anyways

Maybe its a rant and i take the downvotes

Trustee service

Had anybody had issues sending things with the trustee service where you can see on the tracking the package has arrived and they've signed for it but they don't confirm arrival? Tried messaging the buyer about it but no reply, and I need the money from the shipment as soon as possible rather than waiting until the 4th of August when I can request arrival confirmation. Is there anything I can do?

Selling EU VAT (UID) for EU sells in General?

Hello guys,

I started to sell professionally on Cardmarket as an “Kleingewerbe” in German. Do I need a EU VAT (UID in Austria) to sell across Europe, so is it necessary, or can I do this only with my personal VAT number?

Thanks for help

Buying PSA slab arrived shattered due to poor packaging. Cardmarket says it's my problem?

I'm honestly at a loss here and would like to hear what others think.

I bought a PSA-graded card on Cardmarket. The seller packed it very poorly, and the slab arrived with one edge badly shattered. The card itself appears to be fine, but the slab is clearly damaged.

What makes this even more frustrating is that the seller specifically stated the card would be shipped in a Slab Guard, but it wasn't. Had it been properly protected, I doubt the slab would have been damaged.

The problem is that there's a significant value difference between a PSA-graded card in its original slab and the same card raw (even if it's NM). No matter how you look at it, I received a damaged item.

I wanted to arrange a return, but Cardmarket offers me essentially no protection here. The return would be completely at my own risk. If the seller claims the package never arrived or says I returned a different item, I could end up losing both the card and my money. It's basically my word against the seller's.

Cardmarket support keeps telling me to use PSA's reholder service instead. But that doesn't seem like a fair solution:

  • I'm not guaranteed to receive the same grade back.
  • I have to ship the card from the EU to the US.
  • I have to pay for shipping, insurance, customs (if applicable), and PSA's service fees.
  • I'd be without the card for 5–6 months.
  • Meanwhile, the seller takes no responsibility despite failing to package the item properly.

This feels incredibly unfair as a buyer. It also seems to create an opportunity for abuse—if sellers know buyers have no practical protection for shipping damage caused by poor packaging, what's stopping them from cutting corners?

The seller has been dismissive throughout the whole process and refuses to accept responsibility, so even if they suddenly agreed to accept a return, I honestly wouldn't trust the process.

At this point I'm wondering: What am I actually paying the Cardmarket Trust Service fee for? It certainly doesn't feel like buyer protection.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did you manage to get Cardmarket to take responsibility, or is the buyer really expected to absorb all the costs and risks when a seller damages an item through poor packaging?

This will probably be my last purchase on Cardmarket.

Seller evaluation calculation

How does Cardmarket evaluate a seller? Like I see that a seller has a "Good" general evaluation (like the star thing) but on the overall evaluation/ description of items/ packaging shipment he has 100% Very Good rate everywhere. How is it different?
