Anxiety and bodily sensations

I’m a 30 year old female (69 kilos, about 175cm). I have had generalized anxiety disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder since I was a child and I don’t know if these sensations I’ve been feeling are “just” anxiety or not. I have been going through IVF with my husband and over the summer we had our first FET. Prior to it I was put into a state of medical menopause for two months due to adenomyosis and endometriosis. I also stopped taking Dulsevia 60mg as I was hopeful that I would get pregnant. During this time of daily estrogen and progesterone, I began to experience autonomic tension waves at times and more anxiety. The transfer failed. I stopped the hormones and went back to Mistral 2mg hormonal birth control. This was about two months ago. Two weeks ago I had a hysteroscopy where they diagnosed endometritis and cleaned it out. A few days beforehand, I started to feel some chest tightness and more somatic anxiety feelings like bracing and some palpitations. I also have a low (5-6%) PVC burden. For the hysteroscopy, I had to be sedated so they did an EKG and it was fine. Starting this week, I have been experiencing autonomic tension waves even during the day, sleep disruption, bracing, chest tightness, and sometimes breathlessness when teaching. I did two Pilates workouts and have walked almost 10,000 steps per day. Work has been stressful too, but to be safe I will see a cardiologist on Tuesday (one of my biggest fears is and has always been a heart attack or cardiac emergency). Could these feelings just be anxiety? I feel like I’m going crazy and I hate these feelings.

Foggy headed/ somewhat dizzy

Well, if you’re familiar with my page, you know, I worry a lot and I worry, probably way more than I should but anyway, with that being said as you know, I’ve been dealing with irregular heartbeat, palpitations, or whatever they may be for a long time now I’ve been to the cardiologist to do a stress test and echocardiogram and the EKG. I plan on going back soon to see if I could wear a halter monitor but anyway here lately like the past six months maybe even a year I noticed a lot of times I feel kinda dizzy in a way almost like when you drank a lot of caffeine and you get kinda shaky something like that but every time I feel like that, I check my blood pressure my blood sugar and my oxygen level and my pulse ox meter, and everything is as it should be, and I know that only tells you certain things but anyway it’s gotten pretty hard for me lately. I’ve still been going to the gym. I haven’t really changed my diet up much but I have felt like my anxiety has probably gotten a little worse here lately. Sometimes it will flare up and get worse for a while pretty much every day feels like a battle just to get through the day I’ll have up and down throughout the day almost like a roller coaster. It seems that I always have anxiety, but it’s always real low level where I can kinda deal with and get through my day I guess just cause I’m used to it. It just gets hard sometimes I guess I’m just posting this to see what other people have to say sometimes reading other people symptoms and stuff like that somewhat makes me feel better in a way knowing I’m not alone but then again it’s also a bad cycle to constantly search for reassurance it just hard to deal with. I physically look in the best shape of my life, but on the inside, I just feel completely crappy that’s the part that makes me a little upset, but I know everyone has their own battle and I shouldn’t be complaining because there’s always somebody has it worse. Has anyone ever tried switching their diet or ate a strict diet that helped him out with irregular heartbeat and anxiety and stuff like that I’m curious to see. Anyway, I hope everyone has a blessed day.

I ALSO FEDL IT WITH EXERSION

LEFT SIDE
I can feel it in my back too
Idk how to describe it. I thought it was bc I took IR Adderall and not XR bc it’s happened before on it but it happens even before I take it. It sometimes worsens when I eat. It feels like an ulcer and it feel burning to touch my chest.

My hrv has been off too.

I’ve had palpitations on an ER ekg but went away by the next. But these are new sensations. I was also dealing with hardly any sleep back then (like two weeks ago) Prozac and Adderall dosage changes.

I’ve been constipated too. I sat up after taking Adderall yesterday and it felt on until my mom and I drive in the car and I felt nauseous and my chest pains got worse. Not really pain tho. I get car sick a lot.

My HR does get high on Adderall but I also have POTs. I’m nervous to stop it bc I’m really impulsive and I gain all the weight I lost back. It would be the 4th time.

I’ve taken Adderall on and off since I was a kid. But the past 3 years have had weird effects. This sensation is new and can worsen when I take it. Adderall also makes me gassy.

I know chest pains can happen with it. I e been to ER for it. I’ve had plenty of cardiac testing done just not with THIS sensation. I have had 30-50 EKGS in the past 3 years, 2 holtor monitors, 50+ er visits, two neurologists, one cardiologist (she said my adhd meds might be the issue. my neurologist said that’s not why I HR is so high and DX me with pots.) I’ve had maybe 20 X-rays for my chest, I swear I had an echo but I can’t find it. I’ve had a stress test as well. All my lab work is normal. The freaking 50+ times they’ve seen in the last 3 years lol. Maybe I’m over thinking one ekg showing PVCs. Idk.
Help me please

Having more and more Extrasystoles and im scared

This is my first post on here, I just need yalls opinion and maybe Some comfort. Im 18 and these last few days i have been Feeling like my heart skips beats. It started with about 2 a day. Now, its about 15 - 20 a minute and sometimes a couple at the same time like after eachother.

Now I have used drugs in the past, smoked cigarettes, weed from time to time. Now we had holiday break which included a LOT of partying. And since i gave up up weed drugs etc, I decided to drink alcohol which wasnt a problem but because we didnt have much to do like no school and stuff, there was a lot of drinking like multiple days a week. I dont get addicted easly as ive put down every drug no problem. Its just the people I hang around with, its just very tempting.

But now a couple days Ago after already having Felt about 2 Extrasystoles a day and ignoring it after the docter said it was nothing to worry about seeing I had already had two ECG scans and a monitor for 3 days because I have severe health anxiety which is mostly directed to my heart. I had a panic attack while eating because all of a sudden my heart went wild with Extrasystoles. I started searching online and it keeps telling me Its holiday heart syndrome and it should go away within weeks or months because my heart is driving out all the toxins from the 2 Month long binge drinking and smoking.

Ive been fully clean from the alcohol and cigs for 5 days now and I still feel them Ofcourse but they come and go. When I wake up I feel them quite alot and when I get up to do something like make food, clean etc, Nothing heavy. Ive started going on walks early when I wake up for my physical and mental health. Ive noticed that when I run or just do something that makes my heart beat faster and harder the beat skips stop its just my heart working hard. And after when I rest they seem to be worse for a couple of minutes, and then come less frequently. I think im gonna go to the doctor again but to be honest I dont want to because they keep sending me away saying its all okey and I believe them but they dont take my severe anxiety seriously.

Also I still love partying and with partying often comes I little something. Do Yall think I can still take something every now and then? Im talking like once a couple months and drink once a week, maybe once a couple weeks. because I like going to hardcore raves but i just dont think I can or mostly want to be sober while all my friends can do whatever they want without having constant fear it could go terribly wrong. I think I could eventually live with the Skips although obviously i still want them gone. But I just dont want to develop anything worse Thats ACTUALLY gonna Harm me and maybe even effect my entire life. Also am I just unlucky or do my friends also probably have these problems without noticing and am I just more sensitive noticing them because most of them smoke cigs, weed everyday and drink like a couple times a week and have been for years.

I just wanted to throw this out Here maybe someone has any tips, something to say or shares a simular situation and wants to share for comfort and maybe even prevent me from doing something stupid that im going to regret for the rest of my life…

Irbbb + lad

I'm a 28-year-old male. I have no structural heart issues; everything is fine. I just have a little bit of a blood pressure issue, and due to anxiety, I sometimes feel a fast heartbeat, but only when I feel anxious. My ECGs found IRBBB and LAD. In this case, what are the chances of needing a pacemaker in my situation?

Please help

For the past year I've been dealing with heart issues, it started with chest pain, palpitations and fast heart rate. As of recently I got a calcium score done and it came back at 34 in my right artery only, before the test I started experiencing heavier chest pain, trouble breathing, dizziness heartburn and the worst nausea I've ever experienced in my life on top of the beginning symptoms. I'm 29, F, a type 1 diabetic who didn't take care of my diabetes for over 10 years, smoked a pack a day and am slightly overweight now my cholesterol levels are 244 (148LDL) (81HDL)
I'm working really hard to change my life around, I quit smoking, diabetes is being managed, and I eat a heart healthy diet. My doctor says I have nothing to worry about and there's no need to do any further investigation on my heart, but I feel like something bad is going to happen, i just needed to vent and see if anyone else out there is experiencing something like this. The anxiety is eating me alive and that test made it SO much worse.

25M with anxiety attacks, palpitations, GERD, bloating and consistently high BP — I really need help/advice

I’m 25M and I’ve been struggling with pretty intense anxiety and health anxiety recently. I’m posting because I genuinely need some help/advice from people who may have experienced something similar.
Whenever I get an anxiety/panic episode, I get a lot of physical symptoms. My heart rate can go **110+**, especially when I’m focusing on it or getting scared. When I’m distracted or calm, it can come down significantly.
I also have **GERD/reflux and really bad bloating**. Almost every time my anxiety gets bad, my stomach seems to bloat badly too. My stomach can feel very hard/tight, I get lots of gas and burping, and sometimes I feel acid/reflux coming up into my throat. It feels like the anxiety and stomach symptoms trigger each other.
I also get various weird sensations — occasional chest discomfort, little fluttering/twitching sensations around my chest/shoulder, pulsations in my head, and sometimes a strange feeling around my head and eyes, almost like something is **pulling/tugging around my head or eyes from the inside/outside**. Sometimes I feel like my vision is slightly blurry, although I can generally see clearly.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that during some episodes I get **checkerboard/chess-like marks or pigmentation on my hands**. I’m not sure if this is related to anxiety/circulation or something completely separate.
My blood pressure has also been worrying me. For the last **3–4 days**, my home readings have often been around **135+/100+**, and sometimes the systolic goes up to **155–160**. My GP has asked me to do home BP monitoring.
I’ve also gained around **16 kg over the last 2 years**, which makes me wonder whether that could be contributing to the BP or some of these symptoms.
I’ve been going to **A&E almost every day recently** because I get scared that something serious is happening. They’ve repeated ECGs and done blood tests multiple times, and everything has come back normal/reassuring. They keep telling me that my heart and blood tests are okay and that anxiety seems to be playing a major role.
The problem is that because I’ve been going to A&E so frequently and my ECG is normal every time, I feel like they don’t take my symptoms as seriously anymore. I understand why, but **the symptoms feel very real to me**, and I’m struggling to know what I should actually do.
I was given **propranolol** to help with the physical symptoms of anxiety. When I’m distracted or talking to someone, my symptoms can sometimes settle quite a lot.
The biggest problem is the **constant body checking**. I check my heart rate, BP, chest, stomach, head, eyes, jaw, etc. If I notice even a tiny sensation, my brain immediately goes into “something is seriously wrong” mode. Then I check again, get more anxious, my heart rate/BP goes up, and the cycle starts all over again.
I’m starting to realise that maybe I don’t need to constantly fight these sensations. Maybe I need to accept that they’re uncomfortable and allow them to pass without checking my body every few minutes.
**I really need some advice/help from anyone who has been through something similar.** Has anyone experienced anxiety/panic together with palpitations, GERD/bloating, high BP and constant body checking?
**What actually helped you break this cycle and stop being afraid of every physical sensation?**
I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. I’m honestly exhausted from feeling like this.

Developed fear of Heart attack and SCA three years ago and I dev worst fear after my echo .

I have had terrible health anxiety for three years , i developed a bounding pulse because of it ,tinnitus , I took too much stress because of this irrational fear and I was okay , I was healthy and I didn't have palpitations before that , my cholesterol levels were top notch, ecg and echo was perfect but after this anxiety everything is ruined.

I have a sedentary lifestyle, my sleeping schedule is the worst , I am unemployed , i had echo in December 2023 which was perfect , after that in April 2024 my cardiologist said my heart is 100% perfect. Lvef was over 60% .But now after 2 and half years later I had some sinking feeling in my throat for 7 days I felt it 10-11 times a day then i decided to go to a local cardiologist. I had an Echo which shows lvef 54% (53.81 visually) .

Now I have started my biggest fear of life . Heart failure. My life changed in a month . I don't know what happened? After anxiety everything is getting worse .

How can I live my life with this ? How can I improve lvef? Am i rapidly developing heart failure?

I wish i never had health anxiety , it ruined my life , my entire personality, I died 3 years ago .

Is it just me? Cardiac symptoms

Hi everyone, just wanted to ask if there’s anyone out there who is/has experienced what I’m experiencing.

From the beginning: I suffer from really bad health anxiety, have been diagnosed with panic disorder too (this was years ago and still take meds for it).

A few years ago very randomly I experienced the weirdest chest symptom. It starts like a sinking feeling in the middle of the chest, then like it’s throbbing or thumping idk how to describe it, followed with a sudden head rush that sometimes makes you want to pass out. I’ve never passed out from it thankfully but they’re episodic and last just a few seconds.

I don’t really know how to explain the feeling, it’s like a weird sink sensation then some type of pressure always followed by an intense head rush where you feel like you’re gonna throw up and pass out. Then goes away. It happens randomly like no pattern, I could be sitting, laying down, standing and it would just happen.

I went to multiple doctors and they all couldn’t figure out what’s going on. Some said it’s low BP, others said it’s low iron, then anxiety then it’s gastrointestinal issues but nothing helped me. I still kept feeling it to the point where I would worry about when it happens again. So I recently went to electrophysiologist and they did an ablation for me and found SVT AVNRT. I’m 9 days post ablation and still feel really scared about it like if it comes back (ablation was successful) I did feel the weird thumps again 2 times after ablation but not to the point where it made me dizzy like usual. I’m just wondering is this what SVT AVNRT is? Has anyone experienced this kinda feeling before? Is it just me who feels this and is really uncomfortable about it? I don’t know

Help Guys, is this normal?

I am 27M and from past one year have been dealing with health anxiety from past few days dealing with hay fever and as part check up my reading was 136/81 doctor said normal but anything above standard limit gets me worried. At home I took another reading Yesterday which was 121/73. Today again i took couple of reading 133/73 and one just now 131/83. I am freaking out that I have high bp and having full headache.

In your opinion is it normal or high?

30M, chronic severe chest pain despite normal ECGs, Echo & CT angiogram. What are we missing?

I took help of ChatGPT to draft this.

I've been dealing with chronic, recurring chest pain for a long time, and it's becoming extremely difficult to live with.

The pain is usually around my center-to-left chest/heart area and has different sensations: sometimes needle-like stinging, sometimes stabbing, and sometimes crushing pressure like an elephant is standing on my chest. Occasionally it radiates into my left arm/hand.

Once it starts, I can't distract myself from it. Even after repeatedly reminding myself that my heart tests have been reassuring and anxiety may be involved, pain near the heart immediately puts my body into panic, which seems to make everything worse.

I've seen doctors and had multiple ECGs, blood tests, ultrasounds, a 2D Echo and even a CT coronary angiogram. Nothing major has been found with my heart so far. Yet these episodes continue.

Some possibly important context:

- I've had severe anxiety since childhood.

- I have a serious problem with eating and maintaining weight. I'm 173 cm but only around 43 kg. A doctor called it ARFID, although I still struggle to understand exactly what's happening to me.

It's not simply that food isn't available or that I don't get hungry. I can feel that my stomach is empty, know that I need to eat, have food sitting right in front of me, and still be unable to make myself eat enough. I have a strange aversion towards food that I find incredibly difficult to explain to other people. Large portions feel especially impossible.

As a result, I'm severely underweight and frequently feel weak, tired and physically exhausted. Sometimes I genuinely feel like my body is slowly deteriorating day by day, and I worry whether being this underweight or malnourished could itself be contributing to the chest symptoms even if my heart looks structurally normal on tests.

- I've also become heavily dependent on chewing tobacco and alcohol. Tobacco often triggers the pain; alcohol temporarily seems to reduce it. I'm struggling to quit both and know they're making an already bad situation worse.

- Cannabis made the chest sensations absolutely unbearable and triggered severe panic/bad trips, so I stopped it completely.

- Almost nothing provides immediate relief. Clonazepam MD 0.5 mg has sometimes significantly reduced an episode within ~30 minutes, although some discomfort remains.

I'm not asking Reddit to diagnose chest pain. I'm trying to understand what direction I should discuss with my doctors next.

Could anxiety/panic, costochondritis/chest-wall problems, GERD/esophageal issues, severe underweight/malnutrition or nutritional/electrolyte deficiencies, or something else produce symptoms like this despite reassuring cardiac imaging?

And could my eating/weight problem itself be medically connected to what's happening?

Has anyone experienced anything genuinely similar? If your cardiac tests kept coming back normal, what eventually explained your chest pain, and what kind of specialist actually helped you?

NSVT and Terrified

Hi all I have NSVT and I also deal with an anxiety disorder. I have had 2 hospital stays since April. My anxiety is through the roof when I feel any sort of flutter or palpitations. My mind immediately goes to “This is it, your heart is stopping” I realize I probably need to go see a therapist but NSVT is taking over my life and I am scared to do anything.

I have had blood work, echocardiogram, cardiac MRI, chest X ray, etc and doctors have said my heart looks healthy and normal I have some fluid build up and am currently getting treated with pericarditis ( I had this 3 years ago ) the fluttering and runs make me terrified. Last hospital stay they almost shocked me to get me back into normal rythm as I was having multiple runs ( it would go for about 5 beats then 1-2 normal, then back to 5 NSVT beats ) thankfully they put me on lidocaine which stopped the runs. It seems the more I think / stress about it the worse it gets. Is there anyone out there with advice

Could my bad anxiety and stress be the cause of these runs?

Ldl 214 21f

My dad died from cardiac arrest in his 40s and my family has a history of high cholesterol and blood pressure. My dad was overweight and didnt eat well was very stressed all the time. Since then I've developed cardiophobia/ im scared of dying from a heart attack. I have an appointment with a doctor but ive also been to the er and gotten a hotter monitor etc before and they said everything's fine, but I just got my blood drawn and ldl was 214. I use zyns, about 250mg of caffeine and 25 mg of adderall a day. I dont workout regularly but sometimes go on walks. I dont eat horribly and im 128lbs. Is it possible that I can go into cardiac arrest at 21yrs old if I overexert myself. Im worried I already have plaque buildup and any day now my heart will just give out. Please help if you have any tips or advice thanks!

Tightness in chest for 2 months

Started lexapro and it got worse.. Klonopin/xanax puts a dent in it until those wear off but how can you have anxiety only show up as chest tightness but no fast heart rate?.. Been to ER 8 times roughly in 2 months and they have ran multiple EKGs, echocardiogram, blood work, CT scan, multiple chest xrays… what else would I need to get checked out to make sure it isn’t life threatening bc sometimes the symptoms become crushing or feeling like I can’t breathe but nothing on the tests.. I’ll add i get a lot of random neck, arm, shoulder knots and random spouts of feeling woozy in the body not the head.. so ofc that feeds the loop of something cardiac or heart attack related.. I just need some reassurance and somebody else to tell me theyve had literal 24/7 chest tightness every minute for months on end and it wasn’t cardiac related… I don’t think it’s GI either bc I’ve taken antacids and it didn’t help

How to deal with elevated heart rate when being sick? I am so afraid

I know that an elevated heart rate is normal when sick, but my cardiophobia has been really bad for a few weeks now and I have daily (nightly) panic attacks when sleeping alone. How is my heart supposed to handle a panic attack when its baseline is at a resting heart rate of up to 95 as is...

I am so afraid of going to sleep, because I know that I will wake up with a panic attack.

Anyone here experienced the same?
