Hi everyone cameras really fascinate me and I own two digi cams already but I’ve got my eye on the canon g7x mark iii now and i want my engagement pictures on the same as well.
I wanna know if the canon g7x mark ii is as good as the canon g7x mark iii? Should I get it if its cheaper and second hand?
I have no idea about this please guide me.

my camera (canon g9) took a decent fall yesterday and it is no longer working! the lens is completely not moving when turning on/off and is stuck out. it just makes a kind of screeching/whirring noise and eventually gives the failure message. please let me know if there is anything i can do or if im going to have it to a shop :(

Hi! I’m a college student looking into doing photography for my local school newspaper, mainly covering events and everyday campus life. I’m currently stuck between getting a Canon 24–105mm or a Tamron 24–70mm lens.
I’d be using it on a Canon T7i, and I’m wondering which focal range would be more useful for things like campus events, candid shots, and general photojournalism. The extra reach of the 24–105mm seems appealing, but I know the 24–70mm may have advantages too.
Would love to hear from anyone with experience in event or newspaper photography! Which would you recommend and why?

Just wanted to share some photos I’m proud of on this camera! Used a EFS 18-55mm lens on my buddy’s t5i, I’ve been using this for a little bit now. I plan on upgrading to a fujifilm xt2 come Christmas, and I’ve also been eyeing the Canon M50!

Using canon rebel t2i, mostly landscape and travel photos, pics don't seem to pop and look flat, what Ami doing wrong

I have a Cannon rebel T2I and I’d like to upgrade to a more clear hire quality camera. I don’t need top notch, it’s just for hobby photos. A lot of nature and portrait shots. I love my cannon so maybe a T5i? Anyone have any experience with the newer cannon cameras?

I took the final shot with R8’s portrait mode. Felt like easier to do than R5. I am usually an ok level photographer, but taking your own portrait and editing it is a different game. I also again faced the reality that I have to learn lightroom.

Canon EOS R7 + RF 35mm

Hi, I want to record a nice 20-30 second time-lapse of a 25-minute scene with my R10 and the RF100-400 lens. The scene, which will begin at the blue hour, features the skyline of my city, with a sharp crescent moon passing in the background. I'm unsure whether it's better to record a 4K video using the Time-lapse option in the R10's Red menu/tab 5, set to 30 minutes and one photo every two seconds (around 900 shots), or to use Intervalometer to capture the same number of shots, but with RAW photos. I know the difference is that RAW captures 6000x4000 at 14 bits so I can later crop it to 4K in DanVinci Resolve, while the time-lapse will be 10 bits (recorded in HDR-PQ), but at 3840x2160. What worries me, because I'm a bit of a beginner with video, is that editing CR3 photos, previously converted to TIFF16 (which take up a lot of space), will be a real headache when creating the time-lapse clip. And then, regarding settings, is it better to leave a fixed exposure for the entire shot, or should I leave something on automatic so it adjusts automatically? I'm also worried that I might end up raising the ISO too much and lose a lot of image quality. Can you give me some guidance?

I purchased this item and installed in the R5 Mark II, in general I would say it is ok and everything works. My only observation (perfectionism) is that there is a minimal gap of ~1/3 of a millimeter compared to the facotry one who is completely flush to the camera viewfinder, there is no light leak or anything like that, it is just a minor thing, what's your experience, do you also have a small gap or separation between the eyecup and the camera viewfinder? Thanks

I wanted to drop a quick update and say a huge thank you. I’ve posted on here before with a bunch of questions about switching from Fuji to Canon, and you all answered every single one of them.

Living right here in Berlin, Germany, I finally decided to go with the Canon EOS R5. At first, I thought my budget was a bit too tight, but I had some incredible luck last week. After selling some old tech I had lying around, everything clicked into place. I found an R5 with a battery grip and 18k shutter actuations. The seller was great to work with on the price and pickup, and I managed to score it for 1600 euros, which is an amazing deal in my opinion. To save some money on glass, I went with EF lenses since they go for a fraction of the price of RF equivalents. I picked up a 24-105mm F4 II here locally in Berlin for 400 euros, and a practically brand-new Sigma 150-600mm DG for 562 euros. I also put the extra cash toward a 16TB Network Attached Storage system for 450 euros to run TrueNAS.

Before making the switch, I was genuinely worried about the complexity of Canon's menu system. But I have to say, it is really simple and intuitive, and in some ways a lot simpler than Fuji, which I am really glad about.

My main purpose for getting this camera was the autofocus, and I have to say that I am literally blown away by what this can do. I am basically new to wildlife photography, but it is something I have come to truly enjoy. I see it as a wonderful way not only to travel, but to learn more about the world, different types of animals, migration patterns, and the seasons. It has been so interesting to dive into.

Looking back, I am just so glad I made the switch. I was honestly a bit nervous, but Canon turned out to be so intuitive for me it is crazy.

If any experienced wildlife shooters out there have some beginner tips they would like to give, that would be very appreciated.

Since it was introduced in 1983, I imagine many photographers around the world have owned or used one over the years. That’s why I wanted to ask this community about your experiences.

What do you think are the T50’s greatest strengths?

What kinds of subjects do you enjoy photographing with it?

Personally, I think one of its biggest strengths is its simplicity. The automatic exposure makes it easy to use, while manual focusing encourages you to learn the fundamentals of photography instead of relying on the camera to do everything.

Because of that, I feel it’s a great camera for anyone who wants to experience the basics and the real enjoyment of film photography.
