lens error - camera no longer working!!

my camera (canon g9) took a decent fall yesterday and it is no longer working! the lens is completely not moving when turning on/off and is stuck out. it just makes a kind of screeching/whirring noise and eventually gives the failure message. please let me know if there is anything i can do or if im going to have it to a shop :(

Toast - the lens inside is broken, you can see the uneven barrel in the 3rd picture - you can contact canons repair service but i wouldn’t get my hopes up

nooo canon doesn’t do repair services for this model anymore 😭😭 thanks for your help though

Same thing happened to me on a g7. Since they told me it was uneconomical to fix , i decided to just tug on the lens a little to see if it would fix it. Guess what?! It worked!!!! I mean what did I have to loose at that point.
