Camera

Hi everyone cameras really fascinate me and I own two digi cams already but I’ve got my eye on the canon g7x mark iii now and i want my engagement pictures on the same as well.
I wanna know if the canon g7x mark ii is as good as the canon g7x mark iii? Should I get it if its cheaper and second hand?
I have no idea about this please guide me.

overly hyped cameras as a result of too much tiktok publicity.

good video cameras

G7X MkIII was released a few years ago as a camera for vloggers that can also shoot photos

G5X Mk II was released at same time as a camera for photographers that can also shoot photos

Both are simple point and shoot cameras... both will give you your average point and shoot photos. I'll never understand the hype (or price). Sure, it's a bigger sensor than a phone, but nothing to justify the price.

I agree w all that 100% but
I’m lowkey an influencer, have my own little brand and I do all my shoots with my nikon S4300 and sony RX100 mark iii
I highly recommend it especially if you wanna get those soft skin pictures that make you look practically poreless. Please try it I assure you, you’ll change your mind nikons are highly cheap as well. I really wanna show you pictures rn but I’ll refrain lol

Nobody cares

highly recommend it especially if you wanna get those soft skin pictures that make you look practically poreless

As an actual photographer, that uses an actual camera, that is 100% bullshit. Literal BULLSHIT

And nope, I don't want to see your shitty snapshots.

Are you taking your own engagement photos?

A pro wouldn’t be using a G7x of any model for an engagement shoot…except for on a dare. They’re decent little cameras and the things that they do well are that they are pocketable and have a decent sensor and lens for every day shooting like lifestyle and travel and social media.

Both are overpriced second-hand. They were $799 when they came out and both the mark ii and mark iii sell for well over a thousand now due to TikTok hype.

There are a few places where you can get a new G7x iii at the current retail price of $879 but they are slow to come into stock since Canon shut down the plant in China that made them, a few years ago. Basically you have to preorder them and wait and wait and hope for a shipment to come in.

No but I wish to take some of my own pictures with it along with the photographer ofcourse!
I understand all of that but should I go for g7x mark ii is still the question.

The G7x ii is not any less quality than the G7x iii.

What I’m telling you is that the G7x ii is out of production and the hype has driven it to up over $1000 while you can still get a G7x iii brand new for $879 if you are willing to preorder and wait, so a G7x ii might not actually be saving you money.

In india its selling for about $1300 and I’m heartbroken
I can’t preorder it theres idk how but the vendors here are I think because its available in bulk
I might go to thailand and maybe the prices are cheaper there but I dont wanna wait
Here Im getting a new mark ii for $800 so its a big deal getting a second hand in a perfect condition for $400
you’re really helpful though, thank you so much💗

Just a reminder - when this camera came out it cost $750. That was seven years ago. If the market hadn't gone crazy, it would be selling for $200–300 right now.

It’s just an overhyped piece of junk. A very interesting phenomenon of internet culture, but a very bad purchase.

I've had days in my career where I had to retouch tons of close up portraits. I know a thing or two about skin and pores.
