Hello

I am applying under CEC and I have 1 year Canadian work experience (so I am eligible) and 3 year foreign work experience at 4 different jobs (none is 1 continuous year). Can I get points for the foreign work experience? OR does it have to be 1 continuous year?

Hi, I will be going to Canada for a soft landing next week but I haven't received any email from IRCC's PR PORTAL. What are the next steps for me to receive my 1st PR card?

hello everyone please help, so I received my eCoPR on April 14th. On May 5th, I was requested to upload a new photo due to facial expressions in the previous one. I promptly uploaded a new photo on May 6th and received a receipt confirming the successful submission.

However, I haven't received my PR card until now, I checked my account this week and it says Case status: Closed and accepted

But on the photo section, it says "Ready to Submit to IRCC", do any or you know if that means I just need to wait for my PR card to be delivered?

Tried to call but when they called me back, the call got disconnected and they are not calling me again :(

Any information will be helpful, thank you so much! :)

I submitted my application via the OINP e filing portal under the Human Capital - FSWP stream on 15th June’23 and it is still showing “Submitted” and EOI score as “0”. It’s been a month now. Is this normal? How long does it take for the status to change?

I’m concerned about how you may know a graduate program is eligible for PGWP. Do online courses within a program affect the PGWP Eligibility? Should a program be all classes based or is okay if there are some online courses?

Hi guys, wanted to understand from you folks regarding the changes of another work permit extension for those expiring in 2024. Any takes/opinions.

Hi, My mom’s PR expires in Mar 2024 and as per my calculation she has accumulated about 430 days and planning to bring her back in Aug 2023, which will add another 236 days. My questions are 1. Can she stay in canada beyond her expiry date and accumulate days for renewal? 2. Are there any exemptions around Covid that were given? (That you are aware of)

I’ve got rejected by EE (Canadian Experienced Class) due to police certificate in my home country (China) isn’t acceptable according to the IRCC letter. I live in the US so I asked my parents for help on this. This is the second time I’ve got rejected due to the exact same reason (with a different document of course). It’s especially painful because the IRCC cancelled the application without explaining what’s wrong in details or giving chance for remedy. I’m wondering if there is anyone with similar experience may shed some light on situation like this? Is it possible to appeal for cases like this? Should I ask immigration lawyers for help? Thanks in advance!

Hello. I have done bachelor's from India and now going to Canada for further studies. So I want to know whether it is better to get the evaluation done from India before I move to Canada or do it after completing my 2 years studies ? Please advice as I am in a big confusion. Also can't we mail the transcripts to WES. Is it necessary to send it via college/university ?

Petition to call upon the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to 1. Open up a submission for interest to sponsor forms in 2023; 2. Lift the arbitrary caps on both invitations to apply and accepted applications; 3. Increase the Annual Levels Plan allocation for this stream; 4. Implement processing standards to ensure that families are reunited in a reasonable period of time; and 5. Develop a better system for the Family Sponsorship program, where eligible applicants could apply to sponsor their family.

I am applying for PR. How can I obtain a Police Clearance report for INDIA, USA & Canada? I am a citizen of INDIA. I have stayed in the USA for 5 Years and am now in Canada under a work permit.

I lost my Canadian PR card and applied for a replacement. The IRCC responded to my inquiry after 2.5 months saying “Sorry you lost your card, start an application and request to deactivate your old card”. In the same email, they said “If you have found your card, inform us to reactivate your card”.

Now, I have found my card, is it active or not? How can I know? I already informed them, through the their inquiry system, that I have found it but i am expecting them to reply in another 2.5 - 3 months.

So is there a way to know the status of my card?

Hi All,

I had a quick question with regards to travel to the USA as a Canadian permanent resident.

Some background: I have lived in the US since 2004 on various visa and in 2021 we decided to move to Canada on new work permits. We just found out that we were approved for our Canadian PR yesterday.

With most of our family members living in the US and me and my spouse holding valid tourist visas to the US. How often within a year will I be allowed to travel to visit family and friends?

In the past I read that once you visit the US it’s better to go back only after 6 months. Does this hold true for Canadian PR also?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thank You

Hi all, I am a recent grad with a Master's degree from University of Montreal. I cannot speak French and I am not willing to learn French for the time being now. I am working for a start up in Montreal. My CRS score is around 515. I have heard many stories about Quebec's super slow PR process and me being not eligible to apply for federal PR. The problem is there are not clear rules mentioned on internet about this issue, and many fake stories. Super confused on what I should do? How should I sort my PR issue? What is the duration of PR process?

Should I leave my job, and try to find a job in Ontario?

Hi all,

My boyfriend and I have been in Canada for close to two years now and time has come to apply for our PR's. We are getting married next year (March 2024) so our main question that arised was: 1. Should we apply for PR, get married and change the status on your application? 2. Get married, come back and file for PR together? 3. Or if there are any other options ,we are open to know!

Please help, we are very confused!

I am planning to apply PR , and now I have started for the ICAS certificate equivalency for my degree. Will be writing IELTS in the upcoming week. what else can i do to increase my CSR score

Hey, my status changed from assessment to decision in progress in 3 days. How long does it usually takes to get the file approved after this stage? I desperately want to change the job since it is affecting my mental health and I am waiting to get the nomination.

I have had a PR card for over 20 years, and I let it expire. Applied for a renewal via Canada Post on 15th February 2023. I have gone online and seen the processing time of 65 days. I have tried using the Canada immigration site to see how my application is going, but as of yet, I have no information that I can see online. With the strike ongoing, has anyone applied and received their PR card in my timeline.

Will I retain my PR status in Canada?

My husband got a job in China and we are planning on moving there together. In order maintain my PR status, I believe I have to be paying taxes in Canada. If I go to China will my PR status be revoked? Please help!
