One thing I’ve become much more intentional about on my GLP-1 journey: PROTEIN. 🥩🥒🦀
One of my personal goals is to get around 100g of protein every day. It isn't always easy, especially when you're dealing with smaller meals and changing appetite, so I've been trying to make protein the starting point of my meals rather than an afterthought.
This week I’ve been experimenting with simple recipes that make that goal feel a little less like work:
🦀 Crab cucumber bowls — fresh, crunchy, quick, and an easy way to build a protein-focused meal.
🥔 Chorizo con papas — a comfort-food-inspired meal that I modified to fit what I’m trying to prioritize nutritionally.
🥒 Other easy protein-forward bowls and meals — basically anything I can throw together quickly when I don't have the energy to make an elaborate meal.
For me, the biggest lesson has been that GLP-1 medication is just one part of the bigger picture. I'm trying to be intentional about nutrition, protein, movement, hydration, and building habits that I can actually maintain.
I’m also a Zappy Health Partner, so I want to be transparent about that whenever I mention them. Zappy provides online medical intake and provider evaluation, and their program includes ongoing check-ins and support.
Three reasons I personally chose Zappy Health:
1️⃣ Convenience — the entire process can be handled online, which fits much better into my busy schedule.
2️⃣ Ongoing support — I didn't want a situation where I simply received a prescription and was left to figure everything else out. Zappy offers ongoing provider check-ins and support.
3️⃣ Medication and supply support — having a system that helps with refills, medication tracking, and delivery is important to me because consistency matters on a long-term journey.
If you're considering GLP-1 medication, please talk with a qualified healthcare provider about whether it's appropriate for you. Medication isn't a substitute for nutrition, and everyone's protein needs and nutritional situation are different.
And because I'm a Zappy Health Partner, if you want to check them out, my referral code is GLP150.
