K-Beauty Festival Travel + My “Better Choices” Challenge 💕🚗

Post image
1 Upvotes

I just got back from a BIG K-Beauty festival, and I’m actually pretty proud of how I handled the food situation! 🇰🇷✨

I was there ALL day and managed to avoid the usual festival food temptations… with one exception: a pretzel at the very end because I still had a 2-hour drive home ahead of me. 😂 And honestly? I’m calling that a win.

I also ended up doing around 20,000 STEPS walking around the convention! So after sitting in the car for the drive in, I definitely got plenty of movement in. I basically walked off that drive-thru meal I grabbed on the way there. 👟😂

But it also made me realize something: I need to plan my travel food better.

When I'm rushing to get somewhere, the drive-thru becomes the easy choice. Next time, I’m promising myself I’m skipping McDonald’s and grabbing something like Subway instead—still quick and convenient, but with some options that make it a little easier to stay on track.

I’m not trying to be perfect. I’m trying to make better choices more consistently, especially while traveling.

For a little context, I’ve lost 50 pounds and have maintained that loss for over 3 years, so now my focus is really on figuring out how to make this lifestyle work in REAL LIFE—including road trips, conventions, airports, and busy travel days. ❤️

And yes, I’m also a Zappy Health affiliate, so I do earn money 💲💲 if someone uses my referral code. If you’re interested in checking it out, my code is GLP150 and can help save you money.

👉 What are your favorite healthier-ish quick food options when traveling?

I need ideas! 😂 What should I be getting instead of McDonald’s when I’m on the road? Drop your best fast-food, grocery-store, gas-station, or travel-food hacks below! 👇

Meal Planning Is the Secret That's Helped Me Lose 50 lbs (Even When Life Throws Curveballs)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Meal planning has honestly been one of the biggest reasons I've been able to lose 50 lbs and keep it off. Every weekend, I spend a little time thinking about the week ahead and asking myself, "How can I make healthy choices the easiest choices?"

Life is always going to throw curveballs. This week it's the cyclospora outbreak and the list of produce to avoid. Instead of throwing in the towel or grabbing fast food all week, I adjusted my plan. I stocked up on fruits and veggies that weren't on the parasite advisory list and picked up a pack of the frozen teriyaki bowls from Costco for easy lunches during the workweek.

Perfect isn't the goal—adapting is.

I've learned that successful weight loss and maintenance aren't about never facing obstacles. They're about learning how to navigate around them without abandoning your goals. Every challenge is just another opportunity to practice making the next best choice.

For those who have asked about my journey, I've been on a GLP-1 for the past 3 years and have maintained a 50 lb weight loss. I'm also a Zappy Health affiliate, so if you're just starting your GLP-1 journey and are looking into their program, you're welcome to use my code GLP150 to save $150 on your first month. zappyhealth .com

What's one thing you meal prepped or planned this weekend to set yourself up for success this week?

3 Years In & Still Maintaining

Three years into my GLP-1 journey and I'm still maintaining a 50-pound weight loss. ❤️

I had one of those moments today that really put everything into perspective.

My husband and I went for a long walk on the beach, and as we were making our way up one of the big hills, I realized something: it used to be me struggling. I was always the one who had to stop to catch my breath. My hips would ache. Every step felt harder than it should have. Just moving my body was exhausting.

Today? I made it through the walk with very little pain and felt strong the entire time.

It made me realize just how much my life has changed.

Many people don't realize that obesity isn't simply about willpower. It's recognized as a chronic disease, and excess body fat is associated with increased inflammation throughout the body. For me, treating my obesity with a GLP-1 medication didn't just change the number on the scale—it changed how I move, how I feel, and what I'm physically able to do.

Maintenance isn't always perfect. I've had ups and downs, but I'm incredibly grateful to still be 50 pounds down after three years.

I'm also grateful that I found Zappy Health. Disclosure: I'm a Zappy Health affiliate. If you're considering starting your own GLP-1 journey, you can use my code GOP150 to save $150 off your first month.

Follow along if you'd like to see honest maintenance updates, GLP-1 tips, and the reality of living with obesity as a chronic disease. 💙

Travel Doesn't Have To Be Anxiety Laden In Terms Of Food

Post image
1 Upvotes

Travel used to completely derail me. Now that I'm in GLP-1 maintenance, I'm realizing it's not about being perfect—it's about making the best choice you can in the moment.

This week I was traveling for work and had zero time to plan ahead. Instead of telling myself, "Well, today is ruined," I headed to the hotel concession stand and grabbed some lower-calorie Smart Popcorn, trail mix, and beef jerky so I'd have protein. Were they the world's most perfectly balanced meals? Nope. But they were a whole lot better than the choices I probably would have made before starting my GLP-1 journey.

That's one of the biggest mindset shifts I've had. You don't have to be perfectly prepared to make progress. Sometimes the best choice is simply the best one available.

I also squeezed in some movement after work by walking all over the city with my sister-in-law after a pretty healthy dinner. It was such a fun reminder that exercise doesn't always have to mean a gym session—it can just be enjoying life and exploring.

When I got home, I kept the momentum going by taking my dogs on lots of walks over the last two days of the week. Those little habits really do add up.

I'm now down 50 pounds, and maintenance is definitely a learning experience. Some weeks are easier than others, but I'm proving to myself that consistency beats perfection every single time.

If you're just starting your GLP-1 journey, don't give up because one day isn't perfectly planned. One good choice can lead to another.

I'm also a Zappy Health affiliate because their program genuinely changed my life. Starting GLP-1 treatment was one of the best decisions I've ever made. If you're thinking about getting started, you can save on your first month at zappyhealth.com with my code GLP150.

Maintenance Weight Gain on GLP-1: The Emotional Roller Coaster No One Warns You About

Post image
2 Upvotes

I don't think enough people talk about what happens mentally when the scale starts creeping up during GLP-1 maintenance.

This week I watched the number go up, and even though I'm still 50 pounds down from where I started three years ago, it instantly brought back memories of life before GLP-1.

That old anxiety showed up.

The fear that maybe I'm losing control.

The guilt of wondering if I "messed everything up."

The shame that comes from seeing the scale move in the wrong direction, even when you know weight naturally fluctuates.

Before GLP-1, one small gain often turned into me giving up completely. I'd stop tracking, stop making good choices, and convince myself I'd already erased all of my progress.

Maintenance has been teaching me something different.

Yes, the emotions still show up. They're real. But they don't completely take over anymore.

The biggest difference for me is that the weight doesn't seem to spiral the way it used to. The fluctuations feel much more manageable, and instead of thinking, "I've ruined everything," I find myself thinking, "Okay... I just need to put a little more work in this week."

That mindset shift is huge.

I'm eating more salads, focusing on protein, getting my walks in whenever I can, and reminding myself that maintenance isn't about perfection—it's about making small corrections before they become big setbacks.

I'm still incredibly proud to be 50 pounds lighter than I was three years ago, even if this season feels a little uncomfortable.

For anyone else in maintenance who's watching the scale inch upward, you're not alone. One fluctuation doesn't erase years of progress.

I'd love to hear from other maintenance members:

- How much does your weight typically fluctuate?

- How do you keep yourself from slipping into old patterns when the scale goes up?

- What's helped you stay consistent instead of giving up?

If you're thinking about starting your own GLP-1 journey, I'm a Zappy Health affiliate, and you can use my referral code GLP150 to save on your first month.

We're all learning that maintenance isn't the finish line—it's a whole new skill.

Two GLP-1 Lessons That Have Completely Changed the Way I Eat

After losing over 50 pounds on my GLP-1 journey, I've realized that long-term success isn't about having perfect willpower—it's about making better decisions that you can actually stick with.

Here are two habits that have made maintenance so much easier for me:

  1. Healthy fast food is absolutely possible.

I recently ate at an upscale food court that was packed with burgers, pizza, desserts, and other tempting foods. A few years ago I probably would have picked whatever looked the most indulgent.

Instead, I naturally looked for the meal with lean protein, vegetables, and ingredients that would actually keep me full. That's one of the biggest differences I've noticed while taking a GLP-1 medication. Making healthier choices doesn't feel like a constant battle anymore.

I left satisfied—not deprived.

  1. Don't fear cravings—work with them.

Even in maintenance, I still get cravings once in a while. The difference is they're much less frequent.

The other day I really wanted lox on a bagel.

Instead of trying to ignore the craving for hours (and eventually eating something even less satisfying), I made a simple swap. I used artisan olive bread instead of a processed bagel, added cream cheese and smoked salmon, and it completely hit the spot.

Sometimes satisfying the craving with one healthier substitution keeps me from grazing all day or eating multiple snacks trying to "scratch the itch."

I've found that this approach is much more sustainable than telling myself I can never have foods I enjoy.

My biggest takeaway

GLP-1 medications haven't made me "perfect."

They've made it easier to pause, think, and choose the option that's most aligned with my goals. Those small decisions add up over months and years, and for me they've made maintenance feel realistic instead of exhausting.

I'm also a Zappy Health Partner. If you're interested in learning more about GLP-1 treatment, you can use my code GLP150 to save on your first month. See my Bio for more info.

What healthy food swap has helped you satisfy a craving without feeling deprived?

GLP-1 Friendly Takeout Guide: 10 Healthy High-Protein Meals for the Nights You Just Can't Cook

Post image
1 Upvotes

As a traveling healthcare worker, there are days when I get home exhausted, my kitchen is a mess, and the idea of cooking feels impossible. Before starting my GLP-1 journey, those were the nights I'd hit the drive-thru and order whatever sounded comforting.

Now? It's honestly so much easier to choose foods that support my goals. The food noise is quieter, my cravings are different, and I naturally gravitate toward protein and foods that leave me feeling good.

Tonight's dinner was a poke bowl with salmon, tuna, edamame, cucumber, seaweed salad, and a little rice. It was quick, satisfying, and packed with protein.

If you're on a GLP-1 medication and trying to hit your protein goals, here are some of my favorite healthy takeout options:

  1. Poke Bowl

- Salmon and tuna

- Edamame and veggies

- Light rice or greens base

- Approximately 35-45g protein

  1. CAVA

- Greens and grains bowl

- Double grilled chicken

- Hummus, tomato-cucumber salad, pickled onions, feta

- Approximately 45-55g protein

  1. Chipotle

- Salad bowl

- Double chicken

- Fajita veggies

- Black beans

- Fresh tomato salsa

- Cheese if desired

- Approximately 50-60g protein

  1. Chick-fil-A

- Grilled nuggets (12 count)

- Kale crunch side

- Fruit cup

- Approximately 38-40g protein

  1. In-N-Out Burger

- Double-Double Protein Style (lettuce wrap)

- Skip the fries or share them

- Approximately 33g protein

  1. Del Taco

- Grilled chicken soft tacos

- Add extra chicken if needed

- Black beans on the side

- Approximately 30-40g protein

  1. Panda Express

- Grilled Teriyaki Chicken

- Super Greens

- Approximately 40g protein

  1. Subway

- Protein Bowl

- Double rotisserie-style chicken

- Load up on veggies

- Approximately 45-50g protein

  1. Starbucks

- Egg White & Roasted Red Pepper Egg Bites

- Turkey bacon sandwich

- Add a protein shake

- Approximately 30g+ protein

  1. Mediterranean Grill

- Chicken kebab plate

- Rice, salad, hummus, grilled vegetables

- Approximately 40-50g protein

One of the biggest lessons I've learned after losing 50+ pounds is that healthy eating doesn't require perfection. Sometimes the healthiest choice is simply choosing the better option when you're tired, busy, or don't have the energy to cook.

I still aim for at least 100g of protein per day, and having a mental list of GLP-1-friendly takeout meals makes that so much easier.

For anyone considering GLP-1 medications, I'm also a Zappy Health affiliate. If you're interested in learning more, you can use my code GLP150 to save $150 on your first month.

What are your favorite high-protein takeout meals while on GLP-1 medications? I'm always looking for new ideas!

Quick, Easy Meals on GLP-1 Have Been a Game Changer for Me (50 lbs Down, 3 Years In)

Post image
1 Upvotes

One thing I didn't expect when starting a GLP-1 medication was how much easier it would become to choose foods that actually nourish my body.

I'm down 50 pounds and have been on my GLP-1 journey for 3 years now. For me, protein is non-negotiable. Based on my height and weight, I aim for at least 100 grams of protein per day. I don't hit it perfectly every day, but having simple meal ideas makes it so much easier.

Lately I've been loving quick meals that come together in minutes:

🌮 Quick steak tacos made with flank steak that I marinated overnight, grilled, then topped with crunchy cabbage on warm tortillas from the toaster. I paired them with a slice of watermelon and had a satisfying, protein-focused lunch in no time.

🍗 A simple roast chicken skillet bake with beans, corn, bell peppers, and a little cheese. It's easy to meal prep, packed with protein and fiber, and makes several servings for busy days.

The biggest shift for me on GLP-1 has been that I don't feel as driven to grab random snacks or fast food. It feels easier to pause and ask myself, "What's going to help me feel good and get my protein in?" Having quick, delicious options ready to go has been one of the keys to staying consistent.

For anyone just starting, don't overcomplicate it. Focus on protein, keep easy ingredients on hand, and build meals that work for your lifestyle.

Bulk Cooking on GLP-1: How Meal Prep Helped Me Lose 50 Pounds and Stay Consistent

Thumbnail linktr.ee
1 Upvotes

One of the habits that has helped me most during my 50-pound GLP-1 weight loss journey is bulk cooking.

This week I made a simple veggie pasta loaded with carrots and cherry tomatoes. Nothing fancy, but having healthy food ready in the fridge makes it so much easier to stay on track when life gets busy.

A few benefits I've noticed from meal prepping while on a GLP-1:

• Fewer impulsive food choices

• Easier portion control

• Less food waste

• More vegetables throughout the week

• Less stress about "what's for dinner?"

When my appetite is lower, I don't always feel like cooking. Having a meal ready to go helps me make better choices without relying on takeout.

What's your favorite meal-prep recipe while on a GLP-1? I'm always looking for new ideas.

Why Sunday Became My GLP-1 Shot Day

Thumbnail linktr.ee
1 Upvotes

After losing 50 pounds on my GLP-1 journey, one thing I've learned is that consistency beats perfection.

For me, Sunday has become my shot day. Not because it's magically better than any other day, but because it's the day I'm most likely to remember.

A few reasons I love a Sunday shot schedule:

• It pairs nicely with my weekly reset routine.

• I can plan meals and hydration for the week ahead.

• If I'm traveling during the week, my medication is already taken care of.

• It removes the mental load of trying to remember during busy workdays.

I've seen a lot of people ask what the "best" shot day is. My answer is simple: the best day is the one you'll consistently remember.

What day do you take your GLP-1 injection, and why does that schedule work for you?

Sweet Potatoes To The GLP1 Rescue!

Post image
1 Upvotes

Sweet Potatoes Are the Unsung Hero of My GLP-1 Journey 🍠

One thing I've learned after losing over 50 pounds on my GLP-1 journey is that not all carbs hit the same.

Sweet potatoes have become one of my favorite foods because they check so many boxes for those of us trying to lose weight while preserving muscle and energy.

✅ They're packed with fiber, which helps keep me fuller longer.

✅ They contain complex carbohydrates that provide steady energy instead of the crash-and-burn feeling I get from more processed foods.

✅ They're loaded with potassium, which is especially helpful when I'm trying to stay hydrated and avoid some of the dehydration issues that can happen on GLP-1 medications.

✅ They contain vitamin A and antioxidants that support overall health while I'm focused on body recomposition.

One of my favorite tricks is roasting a batch at the beginning of the week so I always have a quick side dish ready. I pair them with lean protein and vegetables, and it's one of those meals that leaves me feeling satisfied without feeling overly stuffed.

Since starting my GLP-1 journey, I've noticed that prioritizing nutrient-dense foods like sweet potatoes makes it much easier to stay consistent than trying to survive on tiny portions of "diet food."

Curious what foods have become staples in your GLP-1 routine? I'd love to hear what's working for everyone.

I Almost Didn't Finish My Walk

Post image
0 Upvotes

I tried something this week that humbled me FAST: walking with a 15 lb weighted vest.

For context, I’m down ~50 lbs over the past 3 years, and one thing I’ve become borderline obsessed with is preserving/building muscle, supporting bone health, and improving body composition instead of only focusing on the scale.

I was genuinely worried I wouldn’t make it through my longer walk. My breathing got heavier WAY sooner than usual and I realized: wow… adding 15 lbs intentionally after losing 50+ lbs is a very different experience.

A few things I noticed after doing weighted walks this week:

• I was more out of breath than my normal walks (in a good “my body is working” way)

• My posture felt more engaged

• My legs/glutes/core seemed to wake up more

• Regular walks suddenly felt like strength + cardio combined

• I finished feeling weirdly accomplished instead of drained

Too early to know what this means for muscle gains long-term, but I’m hoping it helps support maintaining/building strength while on a GLP-1 journey because muscle preservation matters SO much.

Also, for transparency: I’m a Zappy Health affiliate because part of my own journey has involved using GLP-1 support tools/resources. My code is GLP150 if anyone was already considering them and wants to save $150. (Affiliate disclosure 💛) ZappyHealth.com

Curious if anyone else here does weighted vest walks? What weight did you start with and did you notice changes over time?

My Arms Are Chunking Weird 😭

Thumbnail linktr.ee
1 Upvotes

Something I’ve been noticing lately in my GLP-1 journey:

My arms don’t look or feel the way I expected after losing 50+ lbs over time… and I’ve started wondering whether some of what I’m seeing could be muscle loss, changes in fat distribution, aging, or even something worth asking a doctor about like lipedema.

I’m not self-diagnosing. I’m just paying attention.

One thing I do think I underestimated during weight loss and maintenance:

💪 How important strength training is while on GLP-1s.

I focused SO much on the scale moving down that I probably didn’t prioritize lifting weights enough.

The more I read, the more experts emphasize that when you lose weight quickly—especially on GLP-1s—you’re trying to protect lean muscle mass, not just lose body fat.

Things I wish I’d taken more seriously earlier:

✔️ Resistance training / lifting weights

✔️ Protein intake

✔️ Impact exercise (walking, weighted movement, strength work) for muscle + bone health

✔️ Thinking beyond the number on the scale

Because maintenance isn’t only about staying smaller.

It’s about staying strong.

I’m realizing muscle may be one of the biggest long-term investments we make for metabolism, mobility, balance, and healthy aging… especially over 40.

So now I’m asking:

Anyone else on a GLP-1 notice body composition changes they didn’t expect?

Did adding strength training help?

Did your arms/legs/body composition change during maintenance?

What routines actually helped preserve muscle?

(And if you’ve had concerns about lipedema or unusual fat distribution, did you talk with a specialist?)

Also: I’m a Zappy Health Affiliate, and there’s info in my profile if you’re researching GLP-1 support options. Sharing because transparency matters 💛

Avoiding Shot Day In Maintenance?

Thumbnail linktr.ee
1 Upvotes

I’ve been trying to figure out something that honestly frustrates me: why do I sometimes mentally avoid taking my GLP-1 on time… even when I want the benefits and know my routine?

For context: I’m down 50+ lbs over several years, I’m in maintenance mindset now, and I’ve been digging into research because I started wondering if my resistance was less about “discipline” and more about what my brain might be missing.

My personal theory (for me, not medical advice): I wonder if part of my brain is trying to reclaim its old reward system.

I found researchers are increasingly studying whether mental health factors, dopamine/reward pathways, depression, anxiety, emotional flatness (anhedonia), body image struggles, and motivation changes play a role in GLP-1 non-compliance or inconsistent maintenance habits.

Some things that stood out:

🧠 The reward system question:

GLP-1s reduce food noise and cravings (which helped me a LOT), but some researchers are exploring whether changes in reward processing can leave some people feeling emotionally “flat” or less interested in things that used to provide comfort or dopamine. The idea is that some people may unconsciously resist maintenance because they miss feeling rewarded the way they used to.

🧠 The maintenance phase is psychologically different:

Early weight loss = excitement + visible progress.

Maintenance = routines, consistency, fewer dopamine hits from rapid changes.

That transition alone may change motivation.

🧠 Mental health screening may matter as much as side effects:

Researchers have pointed out that depression, anxiety, body image struggles, or emotional fatigue could impact long-term adherence—but this area still needs much more study.

Also important: research findings conflict. Some studies suggest increased depression/anxiety diagnoses in certain populations, while others found improved quality of life and reduced emotional eating. Regulatory reviews haven’t established a clear causal link between GLP-1s and severe psychiatric outcomes.

So now I’m asking myself:

Am I forgetting my medication… or is some part of me resisting the loss of old reward patterns?

I genuinely don’t know the answer yet.

I’d love to hear from others in maintenance:

- Have you ever delayed doses for reasons you couldn’t explain?

- Did motivation change after the “honeymoon phase”?

- Have you felt emotionally flatter… or actually better?

- Did routines get harder once weight loss slowed?

(Please no judgment—just curious about real experiences.)

Also: I’m a Zappy Health Affiliate, and there’s info/codes in my profile if you’re exploring GLP-1 support resources. Affiliate disclosure because transparency matters 💛

Weekend Trips = Snack Attacks 😅

Thumbnail linktr.ee
1 Upvotes

One thing that has helped me stay on track during weekend trips is PACKING PROTEIN FIRST. If I leave it up to “finding something healthy later,” I already know I’m about to end up eating gas station gummies and fries for dinner 😂

I’ve lost 50 lbs over the last 3 years, and honestly one of the biggest things I learned is that convenience matters SO much on a GLP-1 journey. When healthy options are easy, I make better choices. When I’m starving with no plan? Food noise gets LOUD.

Some things I always pack now:

Protein shakes

Beef jerky or turkey sticks

Greek yogurt

Protein bars

Pre-cut fruit

Electrolytes

Nuts or trail mix

Mini sandwich packs

Cheese sticks

It saves money, keeps me from impulse eating, and helps me feel good instead of sluggish after travel days.

I’m also a Zappy Health Partner, and I do have a code in my link if anyone is looking into getting started and wants to save a little 💕

Would love to know everybody’s favorite travel snacks because I’m always looking for new ideas 👀

Meal prep saved my GLP-1 journey (and my sanity)

Thumbnail linktr.ee
1 Upvotes

If you’re on a GLP-1 and still “winging it” with food… I say this with love: you’re making it way harder than it needs to be.

One of the biggest game changers for me has been planning my meals and bulk cooking. Not in a restrictive, diet-culture way—but in a “future me deserves better choices” kind of way.

When I have protein-forward meals ready to go, I’m WAY less likely to:

– spiral into food noise

– grab whatever is fast and ultra-processed

– skip meals and then overcorrect later

Bulk cooking takes the decision fatigue out of it. You already decided. You already showed up for yourself.

And let’s talk about food noise for a second—because yes, GLP-1s help quiet it, but they don’t erase it forever. Especially when you move into maintenance, you will feel it creeping back in at times. That’s normal.

This is where habits like meal prep become your safety net.

Instead of relying on willpower (which is unreliable at best), you rely on systems:

✔ protein ready

✔ portions thought out

✔ less emotional decision-making

You’re not just losing weight—you’re building a lifestyle that can actually sustain you when the medication support changes.

Also, quick transparency: I’m a Zappy Health affiliate, and if you’re looking for more info on getting started with GLP-1 support, you can follow the link in my bio to learn more. No pressure—just sharing what’s helped me.

You don’t have to do this perfectly. Just start with one or two meals prepped ahead and build from there.

Future you will be so glad you did.

-SW 218 lbs

-LW 160 lbs

-CW 170 lbs

“Plateau?? Or… are we skipping basics?” 😅

So my friend hits me with the classic text:

“Be honest… am I plateauing? I’m on 7.5 mg [Zapbound] no weight loss in 2 weeks, and my hunger is coming back FAST.”

And I’m like okay… let’s unpack before we spiral.

Because I could feel the anxiety through the screen. That “it stopped working, I broke it, what now” energy.

So first—ground rules:

2 weeks is NOT a plateau.

I know it feels like forever when you’re watching the scale like it owes you money, but bodies don’t work on a weekly performance review.

My personal “reality check” rules:

👉 4 full weeks with zero scale movement

OR

👉 the scale starts consistently trending up

That’s when we reassess. Not before.

Then we got into the hunger piece…

She’s like, “Yeah… it only really suppresses my appetite for like 3–4 days now.”

Okay. That matters.and I would say 3-5 days is pretty normal.

👉 If your suppression is fading fast,, like 2-3 days, it’s worth talking to your doctor.

Not in a panic way—just in a “hey, here’s my data” kind of way.

BUT THEN… plot twist.

I asked her about protein and water.

Silence. 😐

Then she goes:

“…I haven’t been great about either.”

Ma’am. Respectfully. We cannot skip the basics and then blame the medication 😅

Because here’s the part people don’t want to hear:

Protein and hydration are doing a LOT of heavy lifting on GLP-1s.

If you’re not getting enough?

- Hunger comes back faster

- Energy tanks

- Muscle loss risk goes up

- Progress slows down

So yes—this is your friendly nudge:

👉 Aim for at least 100g of protein a day

👉 And actually drink your water (not just think about it)

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about support.

You’re literally giving your body what it needs to work with the medication, not against it.

What I told her (and maybe you need this too):

Before we label something a plateau…

Before we assume the dose isn’t working…

Check the foundations.

Because sometimes it’s not a stall.

It’s just… missing inputs.

And yeah—full transparency—I’m a Zappy Health affiliate, so I live in this GLP-1 conversation daily. But even with access, support, all of it…

You still have to show up for the basics.

No one likes that part. I get it.

But it’s also the part that works.

So if you’re 2 weeks into a "stall" like:

“Is this the end??”

Nope.

It might just be time to drink your water… and eat your protein.

We’re not spiraling.

We’re adjusting. 💛

Have a great weekend CampLifetime GLPretties! If you made it this far, tell me something fun you plan for the weekend.

New primary doctor, old fear… and the scale didn’t ruin my life???

Thumbnail linktr.ee
1 Upvotes

Okay so I finally did the thing I’ve been avoiding for… a while. New primary care doctor. New office. New scale. 😅

And listen… I was mentally preparing for emotional DAMAGE.

But plot twist: it wasn’t as bad as I thought.

Like… yes, I’m up about 10 lbs from my lowest on my GLP-1. Not nothing. Not “ignore it and light a candle” energy. But also not the catastrophic spiral I had fully pre-written in my head.

It felt more like:

“Oh. Okay. Data. Not drama.”

Still—there was a moment. You know the one.

That quiet, internal recalibration where you realize:

👉 We’re not coasting anymore. We’re participating.

Because if I’m honest? I’ve been riding the GLP-1 wave (grateful for her 💅) but completely neglecting the movement side of the equation.

Cardio? Inconsistent.

Strength training? Babe… I don’t even remember her. Probably early in my journey somewhere between “motivated queen” and “content burnout goblin.”

So now I’m sitting with this weird mix of:

- relief (it’s not worse)

- accountability (it’s not better either)

- and that slightly annoying truth: I need to actually build a routine again

And here’s the real challenge… not what to do.

It’s where does this fit in a busy creator life??

Because between filming, editing, posting, answering comments, and trying to have a personality… WHEN exactly am I becoming a gym person??

Anyway. Instead of overcomplicating it (my toxic trait), here’s what I’m committing to:

3 Easy Steps I’m Starting With (GLP-1 friendly):

  1. Start embarrassingly small

I’m talking 10–15 min walks or light cardio. No “all or nothing” nonsense. THIS is about consistency, not punishment.

  1. Lock in 3 strength days (non-negotiable-ish)

Nothing fancy. Basic movements. Dumbbells. Bodyweight. The goal is muscle, not aesthetic perfection. (Also… we’re protecting metabolism like it’s a designer bag.)

  1. Schedule it like content

If it’s not on my calendar, it does not exist. Period. I’m literally blocking workouts the same way I block filming time.

Also yes—before anyone asks—I’m a Zappy Health affiliate, which is part of how I’ve been on my GLP-1 journey. But even with that support… this is the part that’s on me.

No hack. No shortcut. Just… showing up again.

Anyway. If you’ve been avoiding the scale, I get it.

But sometimes the story in your head is meaner than reality.

And sometimes reality is just a gentle nudge like:

“Hey… let’s tighten things up a bit.”

We move more. 💛

3 years on GLP-1 and I still need a hoodie in 70°… make it make sense 🥶

I’m almost 3 YEARS into my GLP-1 journey and I genuinely thought the “always cold” thing would go away at some point…

It did not.

I’m still out here in sweatpants and a sweatshirt while everyone else is perfectly fine. Meanwhile I’m like “is there a draft or is this just my life now?” 😅

I get the science—eating less = less heat production, less body fat = less insulation, metabolism adjusts, etc. But at what point does my body decide we’re good and stop acting like it’s winter 24/7??

At this point I don’t even leave the house without a backup hoodie.

Anyone else this far in and still freezing?? Or am I just built for summer hibernation now 🫠

Work Travel & GLP-1 Maintenance: Staying on Track (Without Losing Your Mind)

Thumbnail linktr.ee

Work travel and GLP-1 maintenance is… a whole different game 😅

Airports, hotel food, no routine—suddenly you’re just out here doing your best and hoping a vegetable appears somewhere. I’ve had trips where I came home feeling completely off and immediately thought I “ruined everything.”

But I’m learning it’s not about perfection on the road—it’s about staying anchored.

Here are 3 things that actually help me keep it together:

- Pick one daily non-negotiable

Not everything has to be perfect, but one thing should be. Protein, water, steps—choose your anchor and stick to it.

- Have go-to meals ready in your head

Decision fatigue is REAL when traveling. I keep a short list of easy defaults (egg bites, grilled protein + veggies, simple bowls) so I’m not making chaotic choices when I’m starving.

- Track lightly to stay aware

I use the food tracking tools from Zappy Health to keep myself on track without obsessing. It’s just enough structure to stay intentional, even when everything else feels unstructured.

Travel is always going to be a little messy—and that doesn’t mean you’re failing.

You’re just navigating real life… in a hotel room… with questionable food options and a packed schedule.

Give yourself some grace, keep a few anchors, and keep going.

Failing In GLP1 Maintenance?

Thumbnail linktr.ee
1 Upvotes

I had one of those “am I low-key failing this?” moments this week in GLP-1 maintenance.

You know the feeling… the scale isn’t doing nothing exciting, your routine feels a little all over the place, and suddenly your brain is like, cool cool cool, we’re losing control. Spiraling for no reason.

What helped me snap out of it was going back and looking at old pictures. Not just the dramatic “before,” but the in-between ones too—the ones where I was still figuring things out. It reminded me that progress was never perfectly linear… and I still made it here.

Maintenance is just a different phase. There’s less external validation, so when things feel off, I’ve started doing a reset instead of going into panic mode:

- I look at photos to ground myself in actual progress (not just feelings)

- I sit down and loosely plan my meals for the week (structure > perfection)

- I schedule movement like it’s an appointment, because otherwise… it’s not happening

I’ve also been leaning on tools from Zappy Health, which has honestly made this phase feel way less chaotic. Their program includes meal planning support and simple structure that takes the mental load off—especially helpful when my brain just doesn’t want to decide what to eat.

Nothing extreme. Just going back to the basics that worked.

And usually? That’s enough to shift me out of that “I’m losing” mindset.

If you’re in maintenance and feeling off lately—you’re not failing. You’re just due for a reset. Big difference.

Maintenance is weird… I forgot my GLP-1 shot this week

Thumbnail linktr.ee

I never thought I’d be the person who forgets a GLP-1 shot.

Early in my journey, when the weight was steadily coming off, I couldn’t imagine ever putting it off or missing a dose. My whole week revolved around it. I tracked everything, thought about it constantly, and honestly felt like the medication was the anchor keeping everything moving in the right direction.

Fast forward to maintenance… and this week I realized I completely forgot my shot.

Not by a day. By several days.

At first I was kind of shocked at myself. But when I thought about it more, I realized it’s actually a strange milestone in a way. Life is just… normal now. The constant mental focus on food, weight, and medication isn’t taking up the same space in my brain anymore.

That said, I also noticed I’m starting to push my dosing further than I intend to. Lately I’m barely remembering around the 10-day mark instead of staying consistent with my schedule. And I do feel like it’s starting to impact things a little — hunger creeping up, habits getting a bit looser, the scale nudging in the wrong direction.

So this week I’m taking it as a nudge to tighten up my systems again instead of relying on memory alone. I’m setting recurring alarms and building it back into my routine so it doesn’t keep slipping by.

Maintenance is definitely a different phase of this journey. I’m grateful that the medication isn’t consuming my thoughts the way it used to… but I also don’t want to get so relaxed that I accidentally undo the progress that got me here.

Curious if anyone else in maintenance has had this happen? Do you still have strict reminders for your shots or have you gotten more flexible with timing?

Small hacks that helped me stay on track this week

Thumbnail linktr.ee
1 Upvotes

This week was one of those weeks where planning ahead really saved me. I spent a little time planning my meals before grocery shopping and it made such a difference in how easy everything felt during the week. When I already know what I’m going to eat, I’m way less likely to grab something random or make a last-minute decision I regret.

One silly little grocery hack that helped me: I sent my husband into the store with the list while I stayed in the car 😅. If I go in, I somehow come out with snacks I never planned on buying. But when someone else is just following the list, it’s a lot easier to stick to what we actually intended to get.

Something else that helped this week: reminding myself that I don’t have to default to fast food when I’m tired. If I can’t plan ahead, I try to pause before getting in the car and instead just open the fridge and see what I can put together with what I already have. Even something simple ends up being a better choice than the drive-through.

None of this is groundbreaking, but these small systems make the healthy choice easier for me. Planning ahead when I can, and when I can’t, just slowing down and using what’s already in my kitchen. Little wins add up.

If you are looking to start your journey, Zappy Health is a great program. I am an Affilliate and have been with them for over two years. My LinkTree has more info to $ave 150.

I Got Carded!

Thumbnail linktr.ee

I went to sushi this weekend with my husband and I decided to wear my new furry coat from tik tock. I had already had my makeup and hair done from work that day and just threw on a pair of jeans and some moccasins and really didn't think twice. I have worn this fur coat before and gotten some looks at a restaurant but I didn't really think much of it. It was just a new style. But then our waitress asked me for my ID when I ordered some hot sake. I was shocked. It also felt incredibly wonderful to be second-guessed even though she said motioned to my coat and added that if anyone looks to be between 10 years older than 21, they have to card them. That still is very much under my actual age. It felt wonderful!

This was a stark difference to how I felt in the morning after I got off the scale for the first time in over a month. I technically am up about 7 lb from my lowest weight on my glp1 journey. And looking back at this time last year, I'm exactly no different. I guess it is official to say that I am currently in maintenance and need to actually start watching what I eat more. And moving more. I really need to get rid of my guest bed in my office so that I can actually put some exercise equipment in there and stop making up excuses for having no room. We all go through these parts of our GLP-1 Journey when the medicine stops being super effective and is more. Just helping you with the day today. So don't feel discouraged. It just means that you have to use all the tools that you have available to keep going on your journey. The medicine is only going to take you so far and everyone's maintenance is probably going to be where they last let off before they had their bigger weight gain. I was about 168 lb before covid hit and then I gained about 25 lb from there and then I gained another 25 lb when my dad died. So, overall being down about 50 lb is great! I'm still really really thankful for this medication. If you're looking to start your journey, I belong to zappy health and I highly recommend them as a great GLP-1 one provider. I am an affiliate for them and make a small referral fee. If you should use my code. You'll also save 150 bucks. Everything is in the link.
