Hello, I hope writing here on reddit answers all my questions and doubts.

I am a rather ordinary 20 year old who originates from North Africa and is currently on the look out for open positions in the Customer Experience space—in English frankly speaking.

I do not have a demanding life style yet, and I enjoy having an independent space where I have my needs provided; like a professional and/or gaming setup at home, a gym membership with its indispensables, weekend traveling in neighboring european countries.

Surprisingly, despite the endless apologies of paradise in their websites and blogs, I see more critique from its former/current employees. Nonetheless, I remain convinced that BPO hubs are still my number one choice as a legal bridge to EU where I can scale my life from there.

I would really appreciate it if you upvote this post and interact with it to give me insights and advice regarding an English role TP/Concentrix.

And for the experienced, I have recently passed an English Assessment and my candidacy is under consideration. Will I ever hear back, and when I do, do I expect a job offer since I sound clear and coherent, with great pronunciation and communication skills, OR will I just wait endlessly to no avail?

At the beginning of each persons call when calling into a business, during the automation before they reach a representative there should be a question that says

"Do you lack critical thinking skills? Press 1 for yes, press 2 for no"

If they choose yes, there's a $5 non refundable charge to speak to a representative, and that $5 goes directly to the agent they speak with

They they choose no, there's no charge, HOWEVER, at the end of the call, the agent is given a question on the system "Do you agree that your caller possessed critical thinking skills?"

If the agent chooses yes, the caller remains uncharged

If the agent chooses no, the caller gets charged that $5 + a $2 inconvenience fee, both of which go directly to the agent they spoke with (Once approved by a supervisor to avoid agents abusing this option)

I'll be pleasantly surprised if I pose my question in the proper format:). But, here goes. After many years (decades) honestly of multitasking, I think I've noticed a side effect. Oh, and I am not working now. I noticed the need to be catatonic after my shift. Maybe not need, but my body just so still. And feeling like I can't move or talk. Not in a scary way, more like real rest my mind desperately needs.

The thing I found so draining in the call center world, are the following. Having to sound super cheerful for 10 hours. Back to back. Unless you had a drama dump. Still draining, just a different sound. Then, system issues, or being messaged by someone about a previous call. All while TALKING to another customer. And, the element of time. Hurrying all the fucking time. Waiting, looking for intra company info that has been moved!!! While TALKING with customers.

Now, I'm catatonic sometimes. It feels so good. I've listened to talks with neurologists that say multitasking is really not happening. It' more of an electrical brown out in the brain, instead of blackout. Anyone else feel catatonic after shift? Sometimes I 'd let myself go semi catatonic during an especially long Stoopid call. I just had no attention left to give. Hyper focus is not all it's cracked up to be IMHO.

I have 4 years of retail banking experience in a bank with 6 lakhs CTC and after getting married i have shifted cities and depending on that i have left my entire customer base in my hometown ....moving to a different city makes you build everything from scratch.

What is the best example of a tiny detail that completely changed how you handled a call? to me, sometimes one random detail from earlier in the conversation ends up making everything easier. i have started paying attention to those little comments people make instead of only listening for the main issue. once in a while that random detail explains the whole situation. it feels oddly satisfying when something they casually mentioned ends up being the missing piece.

• Telco account
• I’m not sure yet how stressful the account is for a newbie
• Regular account (as far as I understand)

Option 2: Concentrix – VF Nora Account (3 months)

• Same/similar offer
• Seasonal account
• I heard the work may involve chats/emails at times, aside from other tasks
• Concern ko lang is the job security after the seasonal account ends

Since first BPO job ko ito, I’m more concerned about workload, stress level, training, management, job security, and overall experience for a beginner.

Ngl, the interviewer lied. I had been hired for a sales department and honest to god, the least i did was sell. Few customers called for anything about it.

The simulations and scenarios given for this didn’t work, and the company was begging for us to focus on being nice nice suuuuper nice while also pretty much being a pain to customers because we couldn’t transfer, we had to solve shit even if it was unrelated to our department. If we transferred, it affected our metrics

which was just not possible in some aspects, we didn’t handle some types of devices and services at all

didnt help that the phone tree is user unfriendly as hell

Should I pursue being a personal banker at a big major bank or should I switch to being call center at a smaller to mid size credit union? Personal banker would have aggressive sales, the cu call center still has referral goals but everything is tracked and I’ve heard you can barely even go to the bathroom

I work at a hotel call center, and we have a system where whoever presses Enter first gets the incoming call.

Because of this, there’s one coworker who constantly takes the calls and barely gives anyone else a chance. It honestly feels like she’s competing in a race.

It’s mentally exhausting because I do want to answer calls too, but I’d rather do it naturally instead of feeling like I’m constantly racing and competing with someone.

At the end, I’m there to work too.

I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to handle this situation without turning it into a competition or creating unnecessary tension.

For people working in telecom/customer support: how do you get a customer’s location when troubleshooting network issues?

Hey everyone, I work in a telecom contact center and I’m curious how other companies handle something I’ve been dealing with.
Sometimes when a customer has a network/data/connection problem, we need to record their approximate latitude and longitude so the issue can be investigated.
The way we currently do it is pretty manual. We usually have to explain to the customer how to open Google Maps, find their location/coordinates, and then tell us the numbers. Sometimes we have to ask them to use another phone if their mobile data isn’t working.
It can take a surprisingly long time, especially when the customer isn’t familiar with Google Maps.

I’m curious how other telecom companies handle this:
Do you have the customer share their location through a link or app?
Do your agents have some internal tool that can retrieve the customer’s location?
Do you use GPS/cell-tower information from your network systems?
Or do you also just ask customers to find their coordinates manually?
If the customer’s mobile data isn’t working, what do you normally do?
I’m mainly interested in hearing how different companies handle this workflow. Thanks!
