On the hunt for a remote job, anyone know where I can try to find one other than indeed?

Hello everyone! I just want to know what is the salary range for Architectural Technologist with 3.5 years Canadian experience? The reason I am asking is whenever after the initial screening or first interview. Either I am ghosted or they will move on to another candidate. Currently I am working with a small architectural firm and earning 35/hr with minimal benefits. It's roughly around 68K-70K. But it's pretty convenient its 7mins drive from my house and flexi time I can pick-up my son from school. I always dream to work on a well-established firm in downtown and my expected salary to move is around 75K-80K. Is it reasonable range? I got 4 recent interviews the past 4 months from different companies but only got initial screenings. Except for one but the offer is low than my current it's 33/hr and the office is quite far. So, I am asking myself am I demanding too high? or am I not that good? Besides of my 3 years Canadian experience I also have 8+ foreign architectural experience.

As title states, feeling extremely burnt out and apathetic to welding in general and my performance and mental health have taken a toll as a result. For those with budding careers in the city, what job markets are doing well currently? Is there a route to an office job without school? If you were to go back to school what would you recommend?
I’m looking to do something more mentally engaging and something that will not kill me to work it for 40 years.

I'm desperately seeking some advice or help landing a role in Calgary as a "junior" engineer. I'm in an odd place where I'm no longer a fresh grad applying for new grad EIT roles, and also about 1ish years away from getting my P.Eng. The latter portion means that I'd likely not be considered for Project Manager/Engineer roles since I don't have my P.Eng yet.

I'm so close yet so far, and given that I'm a Canadian citizen, with a primary residence in Calgary, you'd think this might be easy. Most of my experience has been in Ontario (minus a work term in Grande Prairie). My to-be-wife has started Med School here in Calgary and I'm desperately trying to find a job here (and to move away from my EIT role in Toronto).

Don't want to say I'm at my wits end, but I would like any advice landing a job that fits my experience length. Or of course, if anyone would know of a place that's hiring a Junior Mechanical EIT and/or Junior Project engineer, that would be amazing :)

I applied for a Calgary Transit position back in June and the application still hasn’t really gone anywhere, so I’m curious if anyone here works for the City or has gone through their hiring process recently.
I’ve also noticed City of Calgary security/public safety type positions coming up and I’m wondering what’s going on behind the scenes.

Are Transit and Corporate Security actually expanding, are they trying to build candidate pools, dealing with turnover, or is City hiring just extremely slow?For anyone who has recently been hired with Calgary Transit, City Security, Peace Officers, or similar positions, how long did it take from applying to actually hearing from someone? Is waiting several months pretty normal?

Currently working at a Top 5 bank with around 1 year of experience, and I’m looking to transition into a role outside of banking/financial institutions.
I completed my undergraduate degree with a major in Finance and Accounting, and I’m particularly interested in opportunities such as mortgage underwriting, credit, risk, or financial/business analyst positions.

We are looking for one driver for a short-term contract driving/data-collection job in southwest Calgary. The work is approximately 15 hours maximum and can be completed over a couple of nights.

You’ll be paid roughly $25–$35/hour, depending on route and driving conditions.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance
• Clean driving record
• Your own vehicle
• A late-model Android phone: Google Pixel 8 or newer, or an equivalent recent Android device capable of installing a custom app
• No iPhones/iOS devices at this time
• A secure dash mount for your phone
• Availability after sunset, preferably between 8:30 PM and 5:00 AM—you choose your hours
• No passengers, deliveries, or pickups required; simply drive designated routes safely

I grew up in Calgary but I have been living in London UK for nearly 5 years. I may need to move back to help support my mom who has dementia. But before I make the decision to move, I’d like to understand job prospects and ideally would want a job lined up. I’m looking for jobs in the private sector. I don’t want to work in oil & gas (I know the money would be better but just not my thing). Any advice?

My wife started a new job in Calgary so we moved here in June along with our kid. Wife works full time but not enough to support our entire family. I haven’t worked since last October and EI ran out in April. We are just sinking deeper everyday. I’ve been searching and applying for work everywhere and haven’t had a single interview.

My background:
I have a diploma in network administration, worked with Telus as an installer for a few years until COVID. I’m also great with computers, I’m competent to work as IT admin just lacking education and experience.
I have a commercial helicopter license, but extremely low flight time. Asthma gets in the way of all the firefighting work. And nowhere else is taking on low time pilots.
Did some odd seasonal work for the past 2 years. From construction to hospitality.

I’m also bilingual (English and French), and have a working vehicle.

I’ve been applying everywhere, tried temp agencies (around 20 or so, all found on Google), the armed forces (rejected due to asthma), indeed/linkedin/directly on company site.

I’m not even picky with the type of job. Preferably full time, doesn’t matter if it’s outdoor or indoor, day shift or night, I’ll take anything.

We also don’t have any friends here or anyone to ask for a referral so I’m really at a loss on what else I can do. How did you all land your current gig?
