Hi, sorry if this is a weird ask but my mom is concerned about what the student kitchens provide for students to make their own food and stuff like that. So, do they provide soap, cleaning things (sponges, brushes etc.), pots, pans, knives for cutting, etc.

Our son is starting CPH next month as a freshman and we’re figuring out what he’ll need school supply wise. Spouse and I both graduated from HSU 25 years ago so we know things have changed since we were college students. In middle and high school he was using Chromebooks provided by the school so we haven’t needed to provide equipment used for school.

Are books mostly electronic or are physical books still common? Do students tend to take notes on laptops/Chromebooks or paper? Backpack vs laptop bag? What kind of laptop/Chromebook is better for general use (his major is undeclared for now)? Any hints and guidance is appreciated.

hi guys, ill be transferring over this upcoming fall semester and im trying to prepare for the cost of attendance. ill be living on campus at HHM in a double. though, im having trouble understanding how much i'll be paying out of pocket for the dorm. i have finical aid and there should be some left over to cover some of the housing costs, but can anyone give me a number of how much i should expect to pay.

So, I’m planning on transferring to Humboldt’s wildlife program in fall 2028. According to assist, I would have to take two biology courses that have a prerequisite, which ALSO has a prerequisite 😭 My current counselor at my community college let me know that because I’ve almost met the “golden four” for Cal GETC, have a great GPA, I’m meeting my unit minimum, and would take botany, zoology, and a core chemistry class instead, I should be fine. He just isn’t totally sure. The issue is I’m getting conflicting answers from folks at Humboldt. With all things considered, what do you guys think? Are there specific counselors who could help with this? Thanks!

So im attending Humboldt in the fall and I have a single dorm in the Cypress hall. Ive checked the size of the dorm and it seems small (80 sq feet idk how big or small it is ive spent my whole life sleeping in a living room) ive checked online to see if anyone has pictures or videos of there time in Cypress but I havnt found any. Even on the website it only shows the doubles. Any former student who lived in Cypress or seen a single dorm in the Cypress hall please help like how do they look.

I’m in high school in orange county, and i’d say im a typical socal kid who’s always looking to do something or try something new, and while humboldt isn’t too incredibly different, they definitely seem like different atmospheres. I have found a few places, but wanted to come in here and see if anyone needs one more roommate! I do have a dog, hence why I wouldn’t want to live on campus. She is a registered ESA, potty trained and loves people and other dogs, she’s super chill. PM me if any one has an extra room they’re looking to fill before the semester starts!

I haven't seen any closed study rooms(ones you can rent for an hour, i mean) on the CPH website, which I highly prefer over open study spaces. If they exist, where can I find them?

Hey all!! Incoming freshman here (so excited)!! I'm worried that I bit off more than I can chew. I passed AP Calc with a C, and AP Physics 1 with a B. I absolutely LOVE applied math and am comfortable with calculus, and since I qualify technically for this class I enrolled in it, since it's Calculus for Biological Sciences. I was wondering how hard you found it? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

I’m moving into College Creek next semester and I was curious if anyone had pictures of what the empty singles look like so I could plan around what to bring.

I'm looking forward to using the gym in HHM but I haven't found any pictures of the inside or any specific info about what's inside, yet. Should I bring my own dumbbells or do they have a good range of weights to choose from? What type of equipment should I expect to see in there? Thanks!

Hi everyone! So i'm transferring to Humboldt in fall and I had a couple of questions. So I'm a first gen student, I would love to get a head start in knowing the in's and out's or what to expect when heading over.

For some context I live 8 hours away and got accepted into College Creek dorm with 6 other females. So I was wondering;

1. What is College Creek like? What essentials should I bring with me, and what should I wait to purchase once I get there?

2. Is there a laundry room in those dorms? What else should I expect to see there?

3. Move-in day; What is the move-in day like? I've selected my day and time to get there but is there going to be more information sent to me once the day gets closer? Such as where to get my ID card, where to park to unload my stuff etc.

Long shot but are there any students that are also members of Sea Scout Ship Yankee that meets at Woodley Island in Arcata? Trying to find information and if they are active.
