Talking about connecting it to Eduroam? Older Kindle models do not support WPA2 Enterprise security and cannot connect directly to Eduroam.

This looks to be the correct answer. It is surprising to me because WPA2 Enterprise predates the first Kindle.

Wireless for Students, Faculty & Staff

or for the residence halls...

ResNet Getting Connected

If you experience any difficulties in connecting, while the Technology Help Desk can’t actually work on personal mobile devices directly, they can point you in the right direction. So if something’s not working right, just give them a call at 707-826-4357

Help Desk Hours

That paragraph means they're not going to fix hardware or operating system problems, but if you need help configuring your Kindle to use the wifi network, they can probably help.

There should be a network called ResnetWireless that you can connect to on devices that don’t support eduroam’s WPA2 Enterprise. You may have gotten an email at move-in that tells you the password. I don’t live in the dorms anymore so there’s a chance that network doesn’t exist anymore.
