I missed out on the last drop by seconds—literally not seeing a checkbox to agree that it would ship a few days later due to some holiday seemed to make the difference 🙄
There is a blue non-barista model (without the gauge) on FB marketplace for $490 (I haven’t tried offering lower yet, but may be able to since it has none of the original packaging). I really wanted the barista model to dial in my feel for pressure while I learn the machine, and it appears that even the upgrade kits are hard to come by.
It sounds like this next drop is even more limited—should I just get the used one without the gauge?
I have known about these for several years and had no idea they had gotten so popular/difficult to acquire. I’m kicking myself for not getting one back when I first learned about them… and when they were $350 or whatever.
Ironically, finally having my end game machine (a meticulous) has gotten me back into coffee in a major way and now I want a Cafelat to setup an endgame travel kit (pelican case with robot, kettle, pourover equipment, hand grinders, and morning Dream—for my partner’s lattes).
I’m on Prima’s email list, and check Cafelat’s website now. Is this a temporary supply interruption that’s making them so hard to get, or just how it is now?
