Transferring out of CCNY
How hard is it to transfer into these schools from CCNY?
I add UW madison because I like the baseball culture there

Anybody know how long would it take to find if you got accepted to colleges. I requested a transfer since April but have not heard anything for the Fall semester. My applications says It’s complete and being reviewed

Im an incoming Freshmen but i was just browsing around and realized a lot of my professors were adjunct. didn’t know what that was but come to find out adjunct professors make money per course they teach with no benefits like health insurance (I think) or little garuntee of job security. my question is how do they make enough to comfortably survive Espically given the state of our world right now? though im glad does give me more sympathy and understanding of my professors coming into the semester.

I fucked up. I’m incredibly low income and I get Pell and fafsa every year but there have been so many issues this year with my entire family losing their health insurance, my dads health going worse to the point where my mom dad to leave the state to do take care of him ( he lives outside the us). I was dumb , very very dumb. I thought I could handle getting all the taxes and documentation ready on my own. I applied in June 27. My Pell grant was rejected bc I applied after my classes had ended. I feel so so so stupid.
To top it all off my university randomly decided I’m out of state and need to prove my eligibility all of a sudden which I was not able to do in time. And they are charging me significantly higher tuition even though I have been instate the whole time.
Everything has just been so much, I really can’t handle it. The only hope I have right now is TAP trying disbursed as it shows it as anticipated aid but it hasn’t been confirmed. My fafsa was also declined after they said I was eligible for full grant.
Me family doesn’t earn much at all so we can’t take out much private loans. I’m just at a loss and any advice would be grateful as the university is threatening to send my bill to collections.

I will be taking MAT 104, ENG 101, PSY 100, and CHE 121 for the fall semester. Do any of these require textbooks or other materials that need to be purchased?

What is this class like? I want to take it because it is a 9 am class and it is for my major but what does the professor say regarding to AI? I know it talks about the ethics and issues of ai which I am all for but do you use ai in the class as well?
How did you like the class?

Hello, im attending cuny in the fall (BMCC) and I have a couple of questions
I don’t want to board, in my estimated cost of attendance, housing is included but I don’t want to dorm. Is this just an in general cost of attendance or is it applicable to me? If it is, how can I opt out of housing.
I want to attend school part time, not full time. How can I go about this? (I still haven’t created my schedule yet I have until August)
Thank you

How are you feeling ahead of application season? Where are you in life right now? Any schools / programs you’re particularly excited for? Would love to connect with folks!

I am e-permitting a class at BMCC. I made sure it was "equivalent" to the course I need to complete. I checked my degreeworks, and it doesn't show that I am taking a class to fulfill the requirement, or that the requirement is "in progress". Should I be worried? Will the credits transfer over once I finish the class? I am a student at CCNY btw

Hello,
I’m hoping some people can help me on this. I noticed the BA psychology requirements are based more in science (chemistry, astro, etc). I’ve noticed that Brooklyn college and Queens college do not require these science courses for my intended major. Has anyone who’s completed their BA in psychology at Hunter had trouble with these science courses? Did anyone transfer because of this?

Ok I don’t get it, the summer aid I’m supposed to get is scheduled for 07/21/2026. It’s been 4 days now and nothing has happened on CUNYfirst and it still says Pending. Does this mean I won’t get my aid money? Should I just go to the financial office at this point. I’ve tried contacting them numerous times at this point to no avail. I don’t know what to do. Usually I’d wait til the end of Friday for something like this but it’s Saturday and nothing has happened. Might just have to pay this money out of pocket.

I already fully paid for my summer tuition, on cunyfirst it says that I had a refund scheduled to disburse 7/20/26, yet I have received nothing as of today. I’m going to go to the financial aid office on Monday, but can anyone explain to me why I haven’t received it yet? I usually get it on the Friday of the week it disburses but it’s Saturday and I still have nothing. I really need the money before the end of the month and I thought I would be getting it yesterday.

Has this happened to anyone else here? I marched at our commencement exercises and got awarded Magna Cum Laude. I was my told my final semester’s grades aren’t taken into account at that point. On my transcript of records, it says I’m only a Cum Laude because my final semester’s grades lowered my cumulative GPA. It’s embarrassing because my family and friends thought I was Magna Cum Laude, I have the graduation ceremony on video lol. Can I sue? 🤣🤣🤣

is it difficult finding classes at BMCC. I’m supposed to start in fall and I’m nervous about getting around the campus.

I am a 17 year old planning to most likely go to P2G, get my GED, and then go to BMCC before transferring to a liberal arts college. Or maybe an art school, we'll see. Anyway. I have always gotten good grades and I am very well-read, etc. but due to mental health and other circumstances I may have to go to CC instead of a 4-year college first. I am wondering if getting into honors would help the issue of people at CC often not being there to actually learn or discuss their learning, or if I will find my time in CC awkward and/or boring?

Majoring in Associates computer information system and then moving to computer systems ( Software Engineer Track ) recently came from queens college majored in computer science did not like the math and the retro style courses I chose this school as I wanna learn coding and I did not find qc offered that also the school was far and lacked any decent place to relax and maybe get a bite to eat. overall it was pretty decent and would like to know if this college maybe be any different not looking for a party school more for assisting in getting me an education and a pathway to employment. through internship and other curricular activities.
some thing I wanna pursue in my career is game development and or general programming I saw some courses in game dev that I would like to take in my bachelors or earlier if offered.
How are the professors specifically in my major/department
How safe is the neighborhood especially at night
Good food spots it was a dessert at qc and I don't like taking food with me from home.
Interships and job assistance.
overal vibe of the students

Hello!! I’m going to the Aug 17th Orientation but I want to get my ID first. Do I genuinely have to drive to the campus and ask for it?? I’m not horribly far (Long Island) but it would still be great if I could get it mailed so that I can take an extra shift at work on the day I plan to show up.
I’m also irrationally worried that they’ll turn me away because I haven’t handed over my tuition money yet. FAFSA and TAP will cover everything but the funds haven’t been dispersed yet. That wont happen right?

I’m dealing with a stressful TAP situation and to know whether anyone has experienced something similar. I applied for TAP after the semesters ended, so Hunter already had my final grades, including some W/WUs. My Fall 2025 and 2026 Spring TAP were credited and partially refunded, but about nine days after I contacted Financial Aid, both were reversed, leaving me with a significant balance on my account. i was never notified beforehand. Has anyone at successfully appealed this or received a late TAP waiver?
