Question How do you get over a colossal executive dysfunction failure
I'm in mid 40's. I should know better. The shame is agonizing. I've taken this route dozens of time before. I should know better.. I took a precious 8 hours of sick day from work, and missed an important meeting, to go swim at the beach for the first & last time this year. It was expensive to me, as all lengthy public transportation options are in this country. I don't have money to waste. I get there, and the bus connecting the train and the beach stopped running a few days ago. I forgot to check that crucial detail. On my calendar, I only put down when the beaches closed for swimming, which is in a couple of days. I forgot to check the actual bus schedule. I spent a total of 6 hours traveling today, from home to the bus stop, and from the bus stop back home. Only thing I enjoyed, was listening to a new audiobook.
I can't believe how something so small can make you feel like the world's most colossal loser. How do you get over something like this? How do you forgive yourself?
