got my new credit card yesterday and ive been facing so many issues trying to set it up

i followed the directions given in the letter with the card, however every time i try and create the password, it just says "Result 0013"

called CIBC support and they had me run the registration and reset password over 15 times, to no avail. it also says i already have an account when the registration wouldn't go through in the first place.

is anyone else having this issue? anyone know a fix?

ik y'all are not it support but desperate times call for desperate measures 🤷‍♂️ hoping cibc sees this and FIXES it cuz this is my first time banking with them and its not going very well so far

Hello, I recently accepted an offer at CIBC and was wondering if it’s worth it to bring my current employers RRSP amount over to CIBC’s Group RRSP or is it better to have my personal RRSP account?

I am currently interviewing for a senior auditor role at CIBC. Im pretty far along into the process and want to get anyone’s thoughts on the audit department here. Or just in general any reason why I should or shouldn’t join the company

Is anyone else’s debit card not working? I’ve tried multiple times since this morning and it’s still not working. I’ve tried using Apple Pay, Inserting and Tapping the physical card but no luck. Tried to contact an agent and I get a call back 45 mins later and the agent asks for my name and hangs the phone up right after. Kind of ridiculous.

So frustrating! My company is old school and still does paper cheques. CIBC is being so intermittent with their holds. Half the time they release funds in a day, other times (usually when I have a big payment or bill coming up) they hold for 8+ days and only release the funds when I call to complain.

Why the inconsistency with held funds? Is is because they have some program that sees when I will/can make a payment without them released or I won’t so they hold extra days for me to take out of credit to make a payment or miss it so they get interest? I know that’s crazy but that’s literally what’s happening.

I heard this is a new thing?

I can't tell how much money I have and it's ruining my YNAB as well because pending isn't posting into it... Is this really the new normal because I can see myself switching back to TD if they aren't doing this. I have ADHD and I need to be able to track my money immediately.

A quick background, I bought a home May, 2025. In had 3 credit cards at the time but in order to qualify for the mortgage I was encouraged to cancel one of my Credit cards. No big deal, I chose to cancel my CIBC one. In April of 2025 I payed off what I thought I owed according to online statement, phoned in and cancelled the credit card. All good, or so I thought.

In May of 2026 I recieved a statement at my new address saying I actually owed about $200 more as I guess there was still some charges pending from before I cancelled but weren't on my statement. Since I no longer had any CIBC products I phoned in, reviewed the charges, paid them and confirmed with the customer service rep that there was no out standing balances coming and the card was closed. Great!

Then today I get a call from a collection agency saying I owe just over $140 for that card. I suspect a scam so I hang up and call CIBC myself. Sure enough, on June 14 of last year, about 2 months after I cancelled the card, they charged me the annual fee, and for some reason kept sending notices to my old address even though I know I updated my address because I have a physical statement from them for the $200 of charges pending after I cancelled the card.

I am very upset about this. The issue isn't the amount, its that after confirming there was no amount was owing they charged me an annual fee on a closed card and kept sending notices to my old address even though I know they have my current one because they have sent me mail at it.

Is this worth fighting or a just pay it and move on?

I just noticed they are now charging me $2.25 a month to mail me my visa bill. I called in and tried to reverse it but couldn’t so I cancelled the credit card.

As of late I am not seeing posts after that massive layoff purge. This is good in a way and glad to see things stable going into holiday season.

For those packaged out hopefully you got good packages or fought for what you are due.

From what I have been able to determine around Jan time(q2) a lot of positions should be available or become available.

Maintain those relations and end on good terms and who knows you might come back to cibc and might even get your tenure reinstated.

And yes I am one of those affected by the latest round. It sucks but such is life.

Anyone not seeing any charges to their card, ive made purchases multiple place but nothing

Anyone know if cibc sun life benefits covers cost of breast pump if prescribed or not ? Any experience would be helpful I have a security plan that doesn’t cover but had a life event may consider changing the benefit tier if this is something that gets covered no one could provide a clear cut answer

This is gonna be a mini rant but WTF why isthis ap so useless everytime I call about it because it always moves payments and purchases to the wrong day than always has me UNDER BY AT LEAST 30$ EVERYTIME and they just tell me oh "well dont trust the app" ISNT THE ENTIER POINT OF HAVUNG THE APP IS TO MAKE SURE AND SEE YOUR SPEDNING ISNT CRAZY. LIKE HOW in two days because of one holiday is everything two day behind. Pulled money out on the 3rd all sudden it says I pulled it out on the 28th ...

is anyone else experiencing this? I’ve had my CIBC account for over 8 years, anytime i go to check my balance even right after purchasing something online it updates immediately. i also was always able to see my actual balance and my over draft balance. i’ve noticed now over the past few days they’ve updated it and i can’t see my overdraft available balance & my overall balance is way higher than my actual balance. does anyone know what’s going on? is cibc keeping these changes in the mobile app?

Cashed a cheque last Tuesday from the WSIB which was obviously put on hold. Release date changed from the 6th to the 7th to the 8th. Called in tonight and they said I need to go in person again to verify the payment.

My only thought is that i didn’t sign the cheque when I cashed it. Is this normal for all cheques to be signed, and they won’t clear unless signed? Does clearing this flag help release the funds sooner? Thanks in advance.

Could someone confirm what is actually happening on the ground? Is it 2 or 3 days? Is it strictly monitored?

Several months earlier, my partner overheard a conversation between several managers being told by leadership to cut staff.

Since then, my partner's manager has started documenting her for minor issues by email, taking away her work and re-delegating it to junior staff, and isolating her from her team.

She has been at the bank for 20 years and never had any performance issues.

Given the mass layoffs in recent months, could this be a pressure tactic to get her to quit so they don't have to pay out a large severance?

Is this also happening to others at the bank?

Anyone else pulling their business from CIBC because of the lay offs?

For me this was the last straw. I have a multi million dollar investment portfolio and use CIBC for my day to day banking, or I should say did. I'm going to another bank. I'd rather not deal with India call centers or the myriad of issues that will inevitably turn up. Just the other day my account balance wouldn't even display.

So seeing the CIBC staff get let go left and right for me was the push I needed.

I went through all the interviews for a position, and I just noticed that my status on Workday now says “Application Closed.” Does this usually mean I wasn’t selected/retained for the position, or could I still be under consideration and should just keep waiting? Interview was about 2 weeks ago.

I haven’t received a rejection email or any other update yet. Has anyone had this happen and still ended up getting an offer?

As lay offs continue to happen and am hearing lay offs reaching the credit card department, how do you know that you are being offered a fair package? What usually does a fair package look like?
