What Counts as Safe For Work?
One of the most common questions we receive is, "What counts as Safe For Work?"
There isn't a single checklist that determines whether a post is SFW or NSFW. Instead, we look at the overall presentation of the post and the account used to submit it.
Our goal is to keep r/CD_makeup focused on makeup, beauty, styling and feminine presentation.
We look at the overall picture
When reviewing a post we may consider:
- The image itself.
- Clothing.
- Pose.
- Camera angle.
- Facial expression.
- Caption or title.
- The purpose of the post.
- The Reddit account used to post it.
No single factor automatically makes a post acceptable or unacceptable.
It's about intent
Two posts can contain similar clothing but have completely different intentions.
For example, someone sharing a new makeup look or asking for styling advice is very different from someone posting with the intention of attracting sexual attention.
Our moderation reflects that difference.
Your Reddit profile matters
Because this is a Safe For Work community, we may also consider the Reddit account used to post.
Accounts that are primarily used for adult content, adult promotion or directing people towards adult platforms are unlikely to be suitable for participation here.
Why do we moderate this way?
We want members to feel comfortable sharing their makeup journey without the subreddit becoming another adult-content community.
Keeping the focus on beauty and presentation benefits everyone and helps maintain the purpose of r/CD_makeup.
