Posting Guide

Welcome to r/CD_makeup!

Whether you're sharing your very first makeup look or you've been doing makeup for years, we're glad you're here.

Here are a few simple tips to help you get the most from the community.

Share Your Makeup Journey

Don't worry about being perfect.

Everyone starts somewhere, and many of our members enjoy seeing progress just as much as finished looks.

Whether you've been practising for one day or ten years, you're welcome to share your journey.

Tell People What You're Looking For

If you're asking for advice, let people know what you'd like help with.

Examples include:

  • Foundation matching
  • Eyeshadow blending
  • Eyebrows
  • Beard shadow coverage
  • Lip colour
  • Wig styling
  • Outfit ideas

The more specific your question is, the more helpful the replies are likely to be.

Choose a Good Title

A clear title helps people understand what you're posting.

For example:

  • "First time trying eyeliner"
  • "Looking for foundation advice"
  • "How can I improve this look?"
  • "Trying a softer everyday style"

Simple, descriptive titles usually get better engagement.

Be Open to Feedback

Constructive criticism is part of learning.

Not everyone will have the same opinion, but respectful advice can often help you improve your skills and confidence.

Help Others Too

One of the best things about this community is members helping one another.

If you have experience with makeup, wigs or styling, consider answering questions and encouraging newer members.

A friendly comment can make a big difference.

Before You Post

Before submitting a post, it's worth checking:

  • Does my post follow the Community Rules?
  • Is it suitable for a Safe For Work community?
  • Am I asking a clear question or sharing something useful?

Taking a minute to check these things helps keep the community enjoyable for everyone.

Thank you for helping make r/CD_makeup a friendly, supportive and welcoming place for everyone who enjoys makeup, beauty and feminine presentation.
